The first of many impressive quests for the Death Knight starting area!

Right click on the orb on the middle of the platform. A floating eye will come out, after a short cut-scene of it floating down to the town you will have full control to fly around.
Be wary to stay within the confines of the town, as flying elsewhere will cancel the spell.

You have 3 main abilities.
1.) Siphon of Acherus - Approach a building and cast a channeled spell to analyse the building.
2.) Summon Ghouls - A targeted spell usable on the ground that will summon ghouls that attack the Scarlet Crusade and townsfolk. Use this to distract them long enough to stop attacking you so you can analyse the buildings.
3.) Shroud - Cloaks the eye. Spell casting will break the ability.

Buildings that require analysing will have a red arrow mark above them.
New Avalon Forge - 61, 60
New Avalon Town Hall - 53, 71
Scarlet Hold - 60, 69
Chapel of the Crimson Flame - 52, 81

After you have analysed all 4 buildings cancel the eye, or use the recall ability, and speak to the Lich King.

The chapel is the trickiest. Fly in, drop your Ghoul and do a quick analyze. Then fly out. You'll take damage, but you should make it.

i have to say i found the wierdest bug / whatever it is in this quest... i seemed not able to even watch the vision of the eye, simply a black screen (i did complete it tho, took me a coord addon and some watching the mini map, but i did it eventually. died like 15 times tho.... might be because my computer isnt that up to date, just to warn anyone also experiencing this.

1. Use The Crystal orb Next to Lich king, It will Fly u to Scarlet town 2. Analyze the town (( U can only use the eye for 2 Minutes! So be fast))

3. the Ghoul Strike is AoE so its good for mobs

I had trouble finding the Eye control towers -- looked all over the Freakin Citadel.

They're on either side of the Lich King -- mini turrets or altars with a blue sphere on top.

If you had the walk/run key toggled to walk while plodding about Acherus (default: Numpad /), then the Eye will move extremely slowly towards the town.

You can't toggle the slow-walking while controlling the Eye itself, especially before you gain control of it, so you pretty much have to cancel your control and repeat the process again while running.

The automatic flight down to New Avalon takes several mind-numbing minutes while the Eye is "walking". So if you tried to be a careful roleplayer like a certain moocow whose name I've just forgotten right now by plodding patiently around Acherus, then you might want toggle back to a fast run before using the controller.

Didn't need to fight at all ...

Think like a Rogue. Hit stealth the instant you get the thing under your control, and just walk to the back of each building, analyze it there out of everyone's sight, and go back to stealth.

Wash, rinse, and repeat as needed.

Easy.

I just floated over the marks and used siphon. Once the analysis was done I hit shroud and moved on to the the next target. No problem

i had a bit of trouble trying to find the chapel as my questhelper was in the way. The chapel is up the back of the orchard. best bet for all of these buildings is to go to the back on top of the roof and do it and you wont even get aggroed. If you go to far away from where you are supposed to be (which i did a few times before i realised what was going on :P), you get teleported back to the platform where the lich king is and you have to get the eye again. any progress you have already will still be there. you just have to get the eye again. On a side note- Very "Lord of the Rings" isn't it!

This was a lot easier than it sounds. Basically, after you get control of the Eye, just fly to the locations marked by the arrows in front of the buildings you need to inspect. When you get over an arrow, just drop down a bit and hit your Siphon. You don't even need to get close to the ground. Just stay way above the NPCs and the arrow. It seemed like proper height above the arrows was about half way to the ground.

Don't go to the back. Don't go to the side. Just fly above the arrows.

Make sure you don't try to drop down until you are sure you are over the arrow. You MAY draw some NPCs, but you can probably complete the Siphon before they can kill you, because the only people that can hurt the eye is the NPCs with ranged weapons.

i had a very hard time finding the chapel of the crimson flame. here's the directions to it:

from the initial point where you gain control of the eye find the dirth path under you that branches away from the rock paths and follow it, you should be heading south. take right at the first, second, and third forks of the dirt path and you will be right in front of the chapel

ok well i must be having a bug issue or something? when i get zoomed to town and i have control of the eye, i cant analyze anything, i cant use my ghoul, and i cant even aggro anything. i can stealth and recall. i can also fly in any direction for days and it doesnt send me back. anyone had any similar issues?

Little Tidbit... The number of Ghouls summoned will be determined by how many people you launch the spell on, so you can't mob one person... throw the spell at the biggest mob for the best results in mayhem...

The ghouls are meant to be a distraction so of course they won't kill everyone... but it's fun to see the mayhem and people running around scared

afterwards I just threw this spell on random people til It got old...

lol i have an idea. You know how a ton of people run to fight the ghouls when they come? Well, if you can get it in a place where your ghouls could stay alive for 20 secs you could use the army thing again for a massive army!
Of course this probably wouldnt work, but itd be fun!

This is actually one of the more annoying quests for DKS for me.If you get attacked by more than one archer,you have to do shroud because the ghouls are too weak to take on even one.

The sphere is launched towards the little town. Once you have control you need to:

1. Move the sphere towards buildings that have the red "hunters mark" on them.
2. Once there, use the number keys 1-3 on your keyboard (if you haven't noticed, three icons on your action bars have changed.)
- 3 key to hide
- 2 to distract people on ground from attacking you
- 1 to take the reading

3. Fly up after reading is complete and go to the next building.

* I cannot provide coordinates yet as this is the beta and Add-ons do not work there yet.

Had trouble finding Forge, is at 51,36.
Dont forget to take off Dominos or Bongos or similar in all
those quest where u direct other char.

This quest will NOT complete, 1st try I was able to get 3 of 4, no chapel; finally dropped it and tried again, chapel 1st - got it but none of the rest would complete. Tried this a number of times, with same none completion results.

Towering above this platform is the eye of Acherus. From it you will call forth a probe that you will then use to analyze Scarlet Crusade fortifications at New Avalon. The eye has a host of powers that should make the acquisition of this data simple.

Use the eye's siphon to analyze the forge, town hall, hold, and chapel. The eye's control mechanisms are located on either side of this platform. Waste no more time, <name>.

The Scourge will have this place. The Lich King commands it!
