Presumably this is not a guaranteed reward.

RESEARCHERS UNDER FIRE PUBLIC EVENT
Assist researchers Rannan Korren, Greta Herzig, and Thaelin Darkanvil as they investigate a Titan mining lockdown with their new niffen guides in the Zaralek Cavern. The public event will be available after weekly maintenance the week of May 9 and will be up every hour at the half-hour.

Just confirming: it is dropping with the event--some got it. Not 100% drop, but seems pretty high.

You don't have to participate for this, I didn't even know the event was on, was flying between rares and had the bag depoisted in my bags, opened it and got the mount.

This mount can drop from the blue bag. Should be first bag of the week regardless of quality of the bag

I want to know if this only can be obtained of Gifts bags or Goods bags. In wowhead only shows on Gift ones could be dropped.

I finally just got this after farming the event most of the day on the same character for the (awful) achievements tied to the event :)

It dropped from the epic bag you repeatedly get by getting to 12/12, the "Indebted Researcher's Scrounged Goods". So this mount can be farmed on a single character, instead of only having four chances per week as some have suggested!

I received this mount from a Purple bag - I had done 4 research events already on the same character (first time opening a purple bag this week though, T4 bag). Looted the mount, the battle pet and a set of 415 gloves from the same bag. If you're having trouble with getting blue or purple bags, try looking for a group around 10 minutes before the event starts. They fill up quick!

I've put off doing much in Zaralek Caverns until today. Today I finally did this event and we did 6/12 of the objectives before we beat the boss. Got the white bag "Researcher's Gift" and this was in it.

Wanted to chime in after doing this in patch 10.2

Can confirm that it drops from Beni Sgraffignati del Ricercatore Indebitato. Got it on 6th run of the day, 94th kill overall all on the same character. Not sure if drop rate differs from this bag or Dono del Ricercatore Indebitato.

I did this event more than 200 times and still no mount... has the droprate been nerfed or am I reaaaally unlucky? :'(

Is there a tip for specifically aiming for the blue and green gifts? Like moving away from the event early or something like that?

The only alternative I can think of is stating the intention during recruitment and limiting the max group size.
But then you still gotta figure out how many people you need on average for each gift, taking into consideration the server's usual attendance, and hoping no one brings additional raids.
