Drops off of one of the summoned "Edge of Madness" bosses in ZG. Nice sword for tanking, looks like a red phantom blade and is nearly as good as Quel'Serrar or Bloodlord's Defender. Not bad to get, and kind of a bonus, if you're doing EoM for the ZG trinkets.

Good for paladin on protection , i got it on my lvl 60 pally today , and its great + it looks great. It's good for "beauty" contests too :)

This sword shares a model with nine other swords. Here's a list of all of them as well as their color/texture (yeah, this is for the RPers out there):

-Continuum Blade - Purple with a misty glow. IMO the coolest of the bunch - except maybe for the Vibro Blade.

-Blade of the Archmage - Purple, but without the glow of the Continuum Blade.

-Elemental Attuned Blade - About the same as Blade of the Archmage, but with a different hilt.

-Fiery Retributer - Orange with a bright glow.

-Phantom Blade - Clear blue. Goes very well with various enchants, most notably +7 weapon damage. Click here to see that particular effect. Other screenshots on that page have other effects.

-Renataki's Soul Conduit - Arguably the ugliest of these blades. Has a horrible yellow color. Might be corrected with some kind of enchant, but I can't think what might fix it.

-Wushoolay's Poker - Green. Actually rather pretty - might look prettier with an enchant on it, though, as usual.

-Ethereum Phase Blade - Clear blue, like the Phantom Blade. If you can't afford that one or don't want to spend more than you have to, go for this one as they're nearly identical for RPing purposes.

-Pilfered Ethereal Blade - Same as Blade of the Archmage/Elemental Attuned Blade.

-Vibro Sword - Orange with a bright yellow tip, as if recently forged. Still see-through, though, so it makes for quite a nice looking sword. My personal favorite, even over the Continuum Blade.

Well, that's all there is. If you have any info on which enchants look good on which blades, feel free to post them here.

With + Armour and + Defense, this is a sword for Tanks.

I won't elaborate on Classes since people hate that... :)

but if a Rogue, Shaman or Paladin seriously wants to be a tank...then by all means let them roll :)

Otherwise, the Warrior would seem a sane choice, if they don't already have Quel'serrar or any of the other Epic 1H 50+ dps swords.

1st of all. why would any class roll on this besides a warrior? it makes ABSOLUTLY no sense if you are anything else; aka hunters. There is absolutly nothing a hunter would want. The only other classes that should maybe roll on this is a pally, or desperate sword rogue.
Also, try to understand not every guild has 3 or 4 tanks with a qs or bloodlords defender, so this is still a great weapon. Also it is great for fury warriors who use the dalrend offhand, it is a little fast, but there are some who tank in fury.

I got a 60 rogue and a 50 warrior, I'd take this with my warrior, and stick with my Assassination Blade with my rogue.

A lot of idiots don't understand how the damage system works. For the main hand, speed is almost irelevent, it's all about max end damage of a weapon, not DPS seeing as a lot of your damage will not come from white damage.

The fast speed of this, plus decent damage, makes it an ideal tanking weapon, only thing missing is some staminia.

I'd love to have one of these one day. As much as I love my Rogues in my guild (and to a lesser extent Hunters, although we tease them a lot). Just please let a Warrior roll on this; look beyond the DPS and see that this is another level's worth of defense rating for your main tank. ^_^

Drops of one of the 'mini'-bosses in ZG, Haaza'rah the Dreamweaver drops this. Nice pre-epic tanking weapon. Dropped yesterday for 1st time on horde side Sylvanas.

Anyone who got it knows if the fire dmg may proc the darkmoon cards?
Or, for this purpose, any other proc like the lifestealing or crusader enchants?

If so, this sword would be REALLY interesting, for any class :-)

CAn any tellme how to come to this boss, and is it neer start or u need to deeper for it. Cos this sword is best pre epic sword for tank (like me) :))

This is dropped from Hazza'rah.

He is one of four possible bosses summoned from the Edge of Madness event. It is about half way through ZG. As I understand, the possible boss is cycled every two weeks, but I can be wrong.

The boss is in Edge of Madness you summon bosses in there by using alchemy stuff

i realy want this sword (it has 50% drop rate and its almost as good as bloodlords defender)

One of the better tanking weapons in the game. +Defense, armor, 1.80 speed, and fairly high DPS? I'm sold. Gimme.

Not enough DKP for Bloodlord's Defender? Dont want to farm the rest of ur life or pay 800-1200g for Foror's Compendium of Dragon Slaying to get your Quel'Serrar?

This could be a reasonable alternative, at least until one of the others come around.

Ok so here's the thing:

As you can see it adds 2 fire dmg to your melee attacks ye well think of this like another attack
So your doing your 100 dmg and a seperate 2 right?
Well That 2 fire dmg benefits from spell dmg so even if your a rogue get alot of spell dmg and you'll be doing 300 extra dmg as well as the 100
Now you want to get fiery wep on this aswell and since it adds 2 it also adds 2 to the fiery dmg and this kind of infects the fiery wep and makes it benefit from spell dmg aswell and if that additional 2 was upgraded to 300 the fiery wep every time it hits will be 600
so imagine this you're fighting a lvl 59 twink and he's good ... really good...
BANG he leaps out of stealth or whatever and you swing for him with your Fiery Retributer
Luckily you get a crit thats 1200+600+215!2015 dmg with a lvl 60 sword! now that only 20% of his hp
Every second even though it's a 1.80 sec wep ure still doing that 200 AND if you get storm gauntlets which is also +2 fire dmg to melee strikes your doing 400-500 Plus the wep dmg every second AND you can get Blazeing medalion or something the necklace and will be doing 600-700 every second plus the 100 wep dmg!NON crit!
And When The Fiery Wep Striked And You Crit Again BANG 600+600+600+1300+215!
Thats finished him off Dead!

And if you add more spell dmg you get more dmg

I HAVE tried this on a private server but got banned because they thought i was HACKING!

BANNED ON:

VCN HARDCORE PVP
CRIMSON WOW
WOW BEEZ
AND MANY OTHERS FOR BEING TO POWERFUL BUT RETAIL STILL ALLOWS IT FULLY!

Drops from Hazz'akar, ZG madness boss, quite a nice sword, looks like a Transparent Phatom sword with fiery on it, i'll send a screen in a bit.

The only reason fast weapons are preferred is because you can do heroic strikes faster (as most of your rage in raids comes from being hit, not your white damage anyways)

So many things to do, so little time, but this is a great tanking sword if I can find time to get back to some ZG runs. Right now, Silent Fang serves but Rend's sword or this would be better. 1.8 attack speed, you can quickly lay in your sunders, build some rage and get your dps melee and casters into the fight quicker.

Does not work with +fire dmg on gear. Had 102 and still did 2/hit.

since the zulian slicer effect scales on SP i wondered if this did as well. sadly this weapon has zero scaling, though the effect can crit.
i will say that some poeple mentioned that the blazefury medallion scales with sp so i find it odd this doesn't.
