Everyone should keep these types of trash items in their inventory while farming. Mitigating repair bills with vendor trash FTW.

Also, the Selljunk addon works great when you are actually selling these items to a vendor.

I sincerely wonder how many Wobbly Staves Robble actually owns. I keep finding the darn things everywhere... Does he have a Wobbly Stave Factory somewhere, or what? Wouldn't it be nice to send some people form McKinsey's over to help him smooth out the flaws and turn that into a proactive production line of Stabilized Staves? You know, a touch of Business Process Redesign, LEAN management with a twist of Humanoid Resource Management, and adding some Kaizen flavour to top it off... It would probably result in sacking half the work force, staves that are more expensive though not really any better, and a huge bonus for the CEO, but hey... it's the thought that counts, innit?

Went into Firelands, pulled a bunch of packs, popped an aoe spell and looted the item first try.

After 10 full clears of Firelands trash, I had 5 staves. That seems like pretty good drop rate yes? Except....I got three on the last clear. Very very RNG. I didn't see the first staff until clear 5.

Some tips, some maybe more obvious than others:

I got staves from both N and H --- H has larger trash packs with more mobs. Farm Heroic (25).

Skip trash in front of Baleroc and trash on the way to Beth'tilac --- clearing the rest will keep you busy enough you won't get locked out. Those mobs are spread out and annoying and it's very few lootable mobs for the effort.

Avoid...I REPEAT...AVOID...the turtles in the magma. You do not need them and you will probably die if you try. Yes you can run along the edge and pull them but it's a waste of time. Magma bad.

Empty your bags if you plan on picking up greens -- there are TONS. (Plus recipes and BoE epics)

Do NOT kill Shannox.

A ranged class with a non-damaging ability to pull packs is ideal, but not a must. I farmed this on a mage and I used spellsteal to pull packs after dismounting, but for the most part you can just run around and pull with your mount, but sometimes the mobs are frustratingly difficult to aggro because they're so low.

The reason to grind these are for three new pets coming in 9.01 from a vendor in Oribos. Keep in mind that these are PTR vendor items, and may or may not be implemented.

DO NOT ACCIDENTLY VENDOR THE GRAYS! Stick them in the bank until you have what you need. There are NINE vendor trash items that you need to buy all three pets:
1.) Ground Gear From Havest Collectors near Variance Keep, use or create a lvl 10 Hunter to farm these. Higher levels will NOT get the drop!
2.) Robble's Wobbly Staff ( Farm the mobs in Firelands dungeon)
3.) Very Unlucky Rock ( From bag reward sometimes from fishing daily, or 100% drop from Lucky Horace's Lucky Chest in Nazmir.

Pet two:
1.) Rotting Bear Carcass (Easily found in Escape from Durnhold Dungeon in the Caverns of Time)
2.) Dark Iron Baby Booties (Found in the Vault Chests you unlock in Blackrock Depths with Coffer keys looted from NPCs)
3.) The Stoppable Force (Looted from Steamvault NPCs)

Pet Three:
1.) The aforementioned Rabbit's Foot, from the Human Starting area Worgs.
2.) Large Slimy Bone (from the Slimes inside and outside Wailing Caverns)
3.) A Frayed Knot (looted from Scarlet Friars and Scarlet Zealots Near the Scarlet Monestary) NOTE: This may be actually the most difficult item to get, as it has to be PICKPOCKETED by a Rogue! The good thing is there is no level restriction, Rogues from Level 24 (when you learn pickpocket) to level 60 can loot this item.

Keep in mind all these items can be bought on the AH, but the price will surely go up, as the drop rates in the world have been severely nerfed!

I dropped the Rod from killing trash mobs in Firelands but only in the 25 heroic/normal version. Got 3 of them in a couple of run but zero in normal/heroic 10 man. Maybe was just the RNG, but I suggest to start farming this item in 25 man raid... just dont kill Shannox so you can easly clear the trash a couple of time till you drop the Rod.

Ingranaggio Dentato : From Mimiron in Ulduar or, if you are not max level*, differents mechanicals mobs in The Geyser Fields in Tundra Boreale.
Bastone Instabile di Robble : Trash mobs in Cataclysm instances and raids. Terre del Fuoco is a great spot to farm this.
Roccia Portasfortuna : 100% drop in Cassa Fortunata di Horace il Fortunato in Nazmir but can only be loot once per caracter OR 5% from Murloc Cavernicolo di Calaluna and Murloc Cavernicolo del Gelo Profondo in the Garrison.

Sbrilloverme di Turchese : Sold for one of each junk item below :

* Because of scaling issues, can only be loot at certain level brackets and only through Chromie Time.

All grey items can be bought or sold at the auction house, and be sure to disable any addons that automatically sell trash items at a vendor.

Did a full clear of Firelands as was the suggestion from a few resources, but the staff did not drop at all for me first go-round. I'm sure it's just the typical RNG issues. Also checked the AH for a few of these items and only about 3 or 4 are up atm on my server; most are selling anywhere from 9-20k. Better off to farm them on your own TBH.

I had multiples of all the things needed for these pets, just sitting in my guild bank at the start of Shadowlands.

Me then: "Guess I'll vendor all this stuff, we need the space, and no one uses it for RP much anymore."

Me now: Curled up in the corner, crying.
