This is placed right between two elites and 3 other mobs. How are you supposed to retrieve it when you're just starting out?

If you came here looking for tips on how to get this item with the insanely over tuned mobs near by here is my strategy on my priest:

I landed on the building near by to get a good angle on the rune, pre-shielded my self. Flew in, dismounted and let all the mobs come to me, Feared all of the fast attacking rock adds away, then was able to loot inbetween the swing timer of the larger npc. Run away as soon as you loot.
