Edit: Tidied this up following the end of Season 2.
These are an item rewarded from completing world events in Caverna di Zaralek. The only use for these following the end of Dragonflight Season 2 is to convert them into Ninnolo Prestigioso via Rotasoa, which can then be used to buy a pet and two mounts from Saccratros.

During Dragonflight Season 2, you could purchase chests containing Frammento dell'Emblema d'Ombrofuoco del Draghetto or Frammento dell'Emblema d'Ombrofuoco del Draco from Rotasoa with these.
Frammento dell'Emblema d'Ombrofuoco del Draghetto was required for upgrading items that are between item level 402 and 411 (Adventurer rank 5/8 to 8/8 and Veteran rank 1/8 to 4/8). Frammento dell'Emblema d'Ombrofuoco del Draco was required for upgrading items that are between item levels 415 and 424 (Veteran 5/8 to 8/8 and Champion 1/8 to 4/8). The chests which award these fragments were limited to one purchase of each chest per week, totalling 30 of each fragment, and were limited by the overall weekly cap of each shadowflame crest fragments (150 fragments for week 1, 300 fragments for week 2, etc.).

Got to 50 early a day ago, none since. The random events stopped showing up and I hardly see any chests or they only contain the other 4 rep tokens. So I guess these and the Barter Bricks are not fully available? Or there is some reason behind this?

You want to consider if you want to use these on gear upgrades or 2 mounts and 1 pet.

Quess it's a preference. But you can say that the Frammento dell'Emblema d'Ombrofuoco del Draghetto & Frammento dell'Emblema d'Ombrofuoco del Draco can be farmed it other ways. Or there is other ways to get gear on. But the Moneta Profumata Dissotterrata/Ninnolo Prestigioso is the only way to get the mounts/pet.

It seems that the easiest way to farm these, is The Researches under fire event that became available with DF Season 2, especially if you have alts.

Epic caches drop 60x Moneta Profumata Dissotterrata and blue caches drop 45x Moneta Profumata Dissotterrata per event. I personally brute farmed this on day 1 when the event became available, and it took no more of 2 hours worth of playtime to gather enough coins to buy the two mounts.

As of 10.2.0, Spinsoa only exchanges these for Ninnolo Prestigioso.

What exactly is the point of a soulbound currency that can only be exchanged into an accountbound currency?
And why isn't this (or the accountbound currency) going to the currency tab.

There is things that could be done with these Blizzard.

Why not set up an exchange rate for Unearthed Fragrant Coin and Barter Boulder. This gives us end-game incentive to put them to use and chase for more so we can afford Ponzo's Cream and Glimmerogg Timeshare Voucher to get all those Loamm Niffen profession recipes. Spinsoa is ready made to do this. Just add a new item for sale.

Maybe even that hat.
