Join a group and do the Cobalt Assembly world quest in northern Azure Span and these will drop from the arcane mobs there in no time.

The area around the Azure Vault entrance is also a viable choice for this. Even the Mana Wyrmlings can drop it. Good spot for lowbies hoping to avoid Cobalt.

I got the aether twice 100% from Costrutto Cristallino Incantato (/way Azure Span 45.1 61.2) which is the same mob for the enchanting treasure (Resti Flebilmente Incantati), it wont give you loot but will be available via mailbox by postmasters. ~~I'll try next week again with my 3 enchanters to see if it's 100% drop chance.~~ edit: it's not 100%, either been fixed or just lucky it got it 100% twice :)

Can confirm that the Aether does drop from "Stabilized" Elementals, after a quest that makes the mobs neutral. They aren't recorded on wowhead for the drop table. Can confirm the enchanting knowledge item does drop from the neutral version of this mob.

Kill some of these mobs /way #2024 39.2 64.0 Mana Wyrmling / it is not 100% drop, but eventually will drop.

So folks (including me) have been farming the wyrmlings near the Azure Vault, but I believe that the neutral mobs also in the area are better. These are formerly hostile NPCs up until some point in questing, but as a 70 who has done all the quests they are neutral (Stabilized Elemental, Pacified Attendant). Wowhead does NOT list these mobs are dropping the item, but I assure you they do. And much faster in my experience than the wyrmlings.

It's been around two weeks now, I only get this through the Postmaster for whatever reason. If you are busting your ass off farming around the Azure Archives make sure you check every now and then whether it came by mail. There is a mailbox nearby

Got it very quickly in Zaralek Caverns @ 46,16 from Unshackled Energy mobs.

Primordial Aether drops form Crystaline Walker in Zaralek Cavern, on 3th kill, so it's easier than in Azure Spam.
