I also just hit exalted with Timbermaw, and I have no idea where to get this. Was this just added patch 4.0.1 and is going to only be available in Cataclysm?

When you use it you are just a Furbolg. But you attack something it will spawn your weapons in your hands and you become a Furbolg of death and destruction.

With patch 4.0.3a doing the quest chain for Dartol's Rod will NOT make you be able to use it outside of Ashenvale which is why they added a normal version that is useable everywhere. If you have Dartol's Rod of Transformation, meaning the Rod before patch only then you saved 60g since that can be used everywhere.

..hour long cooldown? really? i'm glad horde finally get to experience this as well, but how could such a ridiculous cooldown for a 3 minute vanity buff that apparently still breaks on any damage possibly be considered necessary?

Yes, unfortunately since 4.0.3 it seems like Blizz wants to remove fun items like this that add flavor to the game and replace them with many, many things that cause frustration. Who is harmed by using Furbolg form more than once an hour?

Could've at least made it not break on damage if they were going to go out of their way to "correct" this item. I'm sure any chance of it being done right are long gone at this point, since I can't imagine they would ever go out of their way to fix something like this with their usual tweak/bugfix workload.

ATTENTION: You will only be able to see this item up for purchase once you hit exalted. Meilosh is not bugged, so you must wait till exalted before you can even view it.

compared to the old quest reward, this 1 hour cooldown at exalted for 60 gold is just insulting.

I was hoping for at being able to take damage with this. The Iron boot flask has a longer duration and will take damage for the same cooldown, and Dartol's has the same effect with a minute cooldown. As it stands, with the need for exalted rep (which is admittedly insanely easy now), the short duration, the long cooldown and the heft 60g price tag, this seems like a huge ripoff.

we better get access to horde only quest item transformations such as the https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=53057#. Regardless of it's nerf to keeping the item on to maintain the illusion.

Blizz is taking away harmless fun items or nerfing them for no reason again *sigh

Honestly there was no issue with the 3 minute cooldown :/ I find it really unfair they took away a fun item and gave this in it's place. The fun of the original was you could ALWAYS be a furbolg. This one? It's three minutes every hour. That's not fun. It's like giving a kid a fake lollipop after he's begging you for candy.

They need to make it at least not break on damage!

I would also like if they would lower the cooldown and increase the duration a bit, depending on how much the cooldown is lowered.

But another idea would be to make it a 20-30 second effect, which does not break on damage and has a 2 minute cooldown. That way you could macro it to a trinket and essentially create your own "Ghetto-Deathbringer's Will" :-) Or just use it with something like vendetta.

How to troll Alliance lowbies with this item as Horde

1. Fly or boat to Teldrassil (the boat in Stormwind can be easily snuck onto if you happen to be near there)
2. Head over to the areas labeled Ban'ethil Hollow or Starbreeze Village
3. Wait for unsuspecting questers to start killing Furbolgs in the vicinity
4. Transform and start rp-walking around randomly to blend in with mobs (also flag if not on a PvP realm)
5. Laugh maniacally as questers mistakenly attack you, flagging themselves
6. ???
7. Profit

Just letting people know that this is probably the easiest people to get rep with in the game. I went from neutral to exalted in about 30 or 45 minutes. Do any quests you are able to pick up for them and you are able to get a good 500 rep from each one or for others you get 1000 or 1500 rep. Collecting 5 feathers for the furbolg in felwood also gives you 2000 rep which is awesome. Plus the feathers have a good drop rate, about 3 out of 5 you kill a feather will drop. Good luck to anyone.

I made a list of gimmick items which you can use to transform your character into a different form or race or even gender to play around with. I didn't add items like weapons that provide a procc with a transform effect that only lasts a few seconds even though I know about them. My intention was to list all items with controlable transformations. Feel free to let me know if I missed an item!

A cool thing I found out if you want to show your weapons in this form is to flip your Dalaran coin if you have it, when you catch it your weapons will appear, he looks amazing with a Thunderfury.
Don't know if the Dalaran coin is the only thing that lets you show your weapons though.

I wish it lasted 30 minutes, like the dark iron dwarf buff, and it wouldn't disappear on damage taken, and it had all caster animations etc.
Then the 1 hour cooldown would be fair.
