This is the NPC ID for the version of Blade Lord Ta'yak which appears in the Dread Wastes outside of the raid while players are on The Klaxxi daily quest Dark Skies. Bombing this NPC is an objective of Over Their Heads.

As i approached him while on the back of Xaril the Poisoned Mind, he said: "Do you wish to test the edge of my blade?"

And then when I attempted to damage him by the quest bar, he laughed out:
"Ahahhaahaa... was that supposed to hurt?"

... I got away safely.

There are guides that tell he has two "soft enrages". That's true, but be careful, at min ~8:15 he get the buff enrage: +500% damage.

Blade Lord Ta'yak is a two phase encounter which requires in 10 man mode 2 tanks, 2-3 healer and 5-6 DDs.

>20% HP
The first phase of this encounter is a check to your raid's ability to stack and spread out. The need to do this can be explained with Ta'yak's set of abilities in this phase, containing two mostly harmless abilities and two dangerous mechanics, which can one-shoot players.
The mostly harmless spells are:

Tempest Slash creates a tornado which moves slowly and deals moderate nature damage with an additional knockback, when touched.
Overwhelming Assault is a stacking debuff which makes tank switches necessary. Simply switch tanks, once the debuff expired on one tank.

The dangerous mechanics are:

Wind Step targets a random player and makes all targets within 8 yards bleed for 80,000 damage every 3 seconds for a duration of 30 seconds.
Once every minute the boss vanishes and targets a random player with a red arrow (similar to Hunter's Mark). After 5 seconds he attacks with Unseen Strike, causing 3,000,000 physical damage to all targets within a 15 yard cone in front of him. This also causes a knockback.

To deal with his abilities simply stay spread out around the boss with 8 yards range to every other player. This causes Wind Step to only hit one target, disburdening the healers a lot, since this attack is 800,000 damage per target and they need the mana for phase two.
As soon as the boss vanishes, stack into the player who is marked and stay into his hitbox to prevent him from being killed by Unseen Strike. After being knockbacked from this ability, spread out and continue the fight.
In addition to those abilities he has some kind of soft enrage, called Intensify. This increases his damage and attack speed by 5% per stack and stacks approximately once per minute.

<20% HP
After reaching 20% the boss flies away and pushes the raid to one end of the room, while he moves to the other end. Now he continues to stack Intensify at a higher speed (one stack per 10 seconds), but cannot do any melee attacks.
He deals about 15,000 nature damage to every player per second amplified by the stacks of Intensify and creates a strong wind and tornados.
The goal is to reach the other side without getting hit by a tornado. Once you reach the boss, immediatly start to attack him, since he cannot attack you. At 10% he changes the side and the direction of the wind and tornados.
If you get hit by a tornado, you will be pushed back to the end of the room and receive a high amount of nature damage from the tornado, which will most likely bring you out of the healers' range and therefore causing your death.

Since the second phase is with high movement and has a higher likelyhood of someone dying, Bloodlust should be triggered after the first Unseen Strike, to guarantee the highest uptime possible.

If you run into trouble with the enrage timer on this fight (roughly 8 minutes in), you may opt to use the wind streams during phase 2 on each side of the room to your benefit.

By refreshing your DoT effects shortly before the boss hits 10% health (finding the exact point that works for your raid may require some trial and error), then immediately and collectively jumping into the wind streams, you will be carried all the way to the other side of the room without having to worry about dodging tornadoes.

Running along with the wind streams will also dramatically increase your running speed, allowing you to get to the other side that much faster.
