The Bug Trio, or Triumvarate, drop different loots depending on the LAST mob killed. The items unique to Vem are as follows:

Vem

Vem has a charge ability, and a basic melee attack. Does negligible damage to a tank but will hit for upwards of 2-3k on cloth. If he is the last one being killed, grouping up on him will speed up the killing process. If you take an extremely long amount of time to kill Vem (upwards of twenty minutes) he will hard enrage and wipe the raid.
Death Special: Enrages Yauj and Kri if they are still alive.

For those interested in this pet, yet unable to get a group for AQ 40, Ainamiss the Hive Queen is a great alternative. Same model and color.

Managed to solo tame Lord Kri today and solo Prophet Skeram today..
Would Really the same concept if you're taming a different one other than Lord Kri.

My strategy was Spirit Beast for Prophet Skeram with this spec.

Go up to the top of the platform and Feign Death behind the Pillar in the back right, make sure your pet stays up on the top and just do Spirit Mend when it's off CD, also have Cower on autocast, takes roughy 6 - 7 minutes for your pet to kill Prophet Skeram.. May take a few tries, but you'll get it. :)

Now for the trash leading to the Trio.. I recommend using a Turtle(or Beetle) with this spec Kill the Vekniss Guardians first.

Now once you're at the trio simply run in and use a Potion of Speed, pop Deterrence and begin Taming.

Once this is done you can simply run out of the room and the they'll reset, congratulations on your new pet. :)

I came up with this awesome strategy to solo these guys as a hunter by taming one, letting it go, then taming another, letting it go, and then calling my spirit beast to kill the third.

Well, all I can say is that this doesn't work. Not only do they put out waaay to much dps for you to last 2 tames, even if you just tame Yauj (and you have to, since her fear is the most dangerous ability) and kill the other two (first Kri, then Vem, unless your pet is a HP-monster that can last 10 minutes of frenzying), Vem ends up with exactly 1 hp, stands around doing nothing for 10-15 sec and then regains all of his health.

So, not soloable in any imaginable way as a hunter. Yauj's fear and healing, Vem's sporadic aggro changes and dangerous charges, and Kri's stacking poison...

Maybe at 85.

just glad i could solo those irritating guys :) .. was unable to pull it out as a Blood Dk .. so i specced into frost.. quickly burst down healing one.. and then the fun started :) .. ended up with 9k hp left.. so i guess need to adjust strategy a little bit

For those that like this color, and like the 'exposed brain' colossus silithids, Patch 5.1 will add Qem, a rare exposed brain version of this silithid

HUNTERS trying to tame this one: the Glifo Carbonizzato will help a lot!

Why the downvote; I had a hard time taming it without the glyph but succeeded after switching to this glyph.

Can anyone confirm or deny that if they are immortal when eating a corpse? Like could you theroyetically one shot all three, and get all the loot?

If you're having trouble soloing this at high levels, try avoiding AOE attacks. If the final bug does not have time to "devour" the other two, then when you kill him/her the encounter resets instead of completing.

These bosses have a different loot table depending on which one of the three you kill last. Since neither Wowhead's loot table nor the in-game dungeon journal is very clear on who drops what, here's a list of everything transmogable:

Kill Principessa Yauj last for:

Coprispalle della Potenza Mentale (Cloth Shoulder)
Guanti Lunghi Coperti di Bile (Leather Hands)

Looting the bug trio has been "bugged" (no pun intended) for a while now.

This is a confirmed bug, already on the developers list (was told so by a GM) and while it's still in game, just write a ticket and a GM will send you your items through the mail :)

Temple of Ahn'Qiraj RAID (AQ40)

To get to the Silithid Royalty, a.k.a. "The Bug Trio"
which includes Principessa Yauj, Vem, and Sire Kri

From the room with Vethsera, Kandrostrasz, and Andorgos, come out of their room and take the staircase down.

Take a HARD left at bottom of staircase, and descend into the spiralling downward tunnel. There is a juncton (slightly before you get all the way down) with a left turn that is more level and a right which continues descending. Take the RIGHT and go all the way down.

Kill a Strizzacervelli Qiraji and a couple other NPCs, then head due west through a narrow tunnel. This brings you to the chamber with the Bug Trio and a couple of trash MOB groups.

For REFERENCE, the more level side tunnel takes you to The Hive Undergrounds map level, where you will fight all the bosses other than the Silithid Royalty and C'thun.

THIS IS NOT BUGGED. So I've been working on this for a while because the battle pets just won't drop and I needed to do my rep grind...after the third try...I realized it is not a bug whenever a high level is trying to kill these three and it keeps resetting. It kept happening to me...until I just removed my weapon ( and some other gear as I was OP for the fight ) and put my pet on passive ( I'm a BM hunter at lvl 120 ) and I decided to literally B-slap each one at a time ... finally I noticed that as I was slapping/killing the first two...they were devoured by the last boss standing. I just picked Princess Yauj to be my last kill. This trick worked and has been working for the last 3x! Got my epic loots :-P
