So yes there is a duplicate-protection in play for mounts like the item text states.

Warning: This item will not award you with the opposing faction mount. As an Alliance player I had all the mounts except the White War Wolf. I used this item hoping it would grant me the wolf but it did not. Only received a transmog item and still had the item buff after the event ended.

This item, the buff was bugged for me too, had it the whole day and got 7 mounts in 5 consequent rifts. I should better chose the pets, cause double are ok and you can sell, now i sit on 30K flakes and got all mounts

It seems to me that this item's buff has a hidden duration of 24 hours.

It persisted through death, and continued after getting all the available mounts, except the opposite faction's gryphon/wolf. After getting all mounts, I received an unlearned BoA transmog item on every boss kill. Not character specific: I got weapons they couldn't learn and plate legs on a caster.

I wasn't tracking it exactly, but the buff seemed to drop off after 24 hours. So if using to grab mounts, make sure you get your 7 boss kills in a day.

I used this item today, and it did NOT offer a choice between Mount or Pet - on completing the rift however I recieved both Gill'dan and Gift of the Ravenous Black Gryphon. Whether a bug or intended I'm not sure, and will see what happens with the next rift.
The item was also not consumed on use and remained in my bags, nor did the buff disappear.

Trying to use the item again during phase 1 of the rift (for science.. ) gave me a 'You can't do that yet' error.

Edit: Second rift, item still exists, as does buff. Recieved an epic staff and trinket - not quite the mount and/or pet I was expecting..

It seems if you own all the mounts & pets this just won't award you anything? I own 1/3 of all pets and all mounts (including both faction specific), I got a prompt to choose a mount drop or a pet drop, chose pet because you can have multiple but still have not received any guaranteed pet drop over multiple rifts (buff still active). Caging a pet so I own 0/3 does not trigger the drop either. I think my Destino Incapsulato Superiore is just bugged.

Edit 7 days later: My buff fell off after I did my first rift on reset day. Didn't get any pet for it :( Scammed

I got this item second day of event. Used it, got no mount my next Rift. Took the one after that to get a mount & have had the buff stuck to me ever since. Was hoping it would be fixed with maint today but nope, still sporting the buff.

Got this item today once hitting rank 4 and I can't use it. It's in my bags but everytime I go to click it I get a message saying 'You can't do that yet.' ?

Was only doing this rep for this item before I bought any mounts.
When I click on it, getting error "You can't do that yet"
I had a spare white wolf mount in my bags so I deleted it. Still getting error.
Relogged, still getting error.
Waited until after I "Reported In" on the next event, still getting error.
Waited until new rift with boss opens, stepped in, still getting error.
Boss died, I got a sword I already had and some bracers.
Pretty anti-climactic.
Welp, I have 24k paracausal so I'll just buy the 2 other mounts I wanted while this item flakes.

It is still bugged for me. I selected mount, even though I have already gotten all mounts, and I received the white war wolf again, a pet AND an epic weapon. The buff is still there. Will edit this after the next rift to see if I get the loot again.

If you still have a ways to go on your grind, I recommend getting a pet. The pets are cageable to trade/ sell. Mount duplicates often are untradeable I have found (sometimes they are but it's unreliable). The difference between a mount and pet is also pretty minor in exchange for the flexibility.

By the time I got the Greater Encapsulated Destiny, I already had all the mount and pet drops (thanks to the extra spoils on the first week due to the Encapsulated Destiny buff not being consumed). I had given the pets to my spouse who was the hardcore pet collector, thinking I'd just use the Greater Encapsulated Destiny to replace those pets. Five rifts later, the buff is still up with zero pet drops. No biggie; I just bought them off the vendor instead. However, I cannot right-click the Greater Encapsulated Destiny buff to remove it, and it exists side by side with the regular Encapsulated Destiny buff (which does get consumed after getting a drop off the boss). Just FYI.

I thought this was going to be randomly either a pet or a mount, but when you use the item it pops up with the option to select for one or the other. I selected mount since I already had all the pets and got the Sulfur Hound.

I can confirm that as of today, the buff does not disappear after a rift nor a death.
I got 1 mount on my first rift and TWO mounts on the second rift ! Do not use your currency to buy mounts guys :D

So I misread. It says an unobtained mount, not an unobtainable mount from these rifts. So This is useless. If I wanted cosmetics, I just go to Target. LOL!

I had all the pets and mounts by the time I reached Rank 4. I selected to get a mount just for the heck of it. I wound up getting a cosmetic item I didn't have yet. A win is a win.

Received and used today. I had the choice between mount or pet. I chose the mounts and since.. the buff does not disappear and gives me 1 mount link to the event that I don't have at each event! I had done well not to buy before reaching the reputation xD

Edit : Indeed, there is no indication that the item only works once. Once the buff obtained by using the item (the item disappears from the bag). The buff seems permanent. He therefore gives a reward at each end of the temporal rift

This item is utterly useless tho? Besides the fact that it does not work if you chose the pet option (with only having 1/3 pets learned)

The amount of time and grinding it takes to reach Rank 4/5 you should already have all at least 1/3 pets and all the mounts, don't get me started on the faction mounts - im sick of having +6 in my bags all the time.

I have rank 4/5 on 2 characters, and have chosen the pet option both times. Several rifts later one got no pet - just a useless tmog for another class, and the other char still has the debuff. I only bought 1/3 pets.

If you think this item is useful you are lying to yourself.

I used this item and chose mount as I was only missing 3 mounts from Titan/Scourge/Legion invasions. Used it for scourge, got the mount and buff stayed. Tried again on titan, got the mount and buff stayed. Currently waiting on the next Legion invasion for my final drop.

Got this item yesterday and decided to use it today on mounts, with it i managed to get all the missing ones i didn't bought with the currency in a couple of completed timerifts.

Since the buff doesn't seem to expire, i would like to know if it there is a way to switch it to pet drops since i got all the mounts avaiable.

I've ended up with a total of four Gift of the Ravenous Black Gryphon. After the first one, the other three are Soulbound, and not sellable to a vendor. When I click on them it says, Target is not a player. Always thought I was a player, but I guess I got no game.

Used before a Scourge rift to get N'Ruby. Got nothing. At least the buff stayed. Does anything work as its tooltip suggests this patch?

Edit - Buff stayed for a bit and then went so item is useless (at least for pets). Contacted support and got the usual spiel about report it as a bug but they couldn't give me it back to use again when it's not bugged.

I got this today, I decided to "test" if I could get the griphon drop from this, as I had already bought all the other mounts from vendors (I'm a horde character).
I did not get a drop. I got a tmog piece but no way of knowing if that somehow is a consolation-price for not being able to get the gryphon drop/pets?

As other people said, the buff did not go away after finishing the rift, but I need to go to bed now, so no clue if it's going to remain there until tomorrow when I farm some more rifts.

Of course, by the time I got this, I already had all the mounts and one of each pet. Hoping to get a second pet (after all, we have 3 pet slots and on top of that, these pets are tradable), I went for the pet.

I did not get a pet, but I did get 2 of the Hordie gift gryphons in a row. The buff was not consumed and is still active after 2 runs.

Oh, and as for the gift mount, it's getting harder and harder to find a Hordie who doesn't already have it... Guess I will end up with 20 of these in my bags when I reach max rep.

Update: In the next two runs, I didn't get anything of worth. So the double gift mount was probably a RNG result. And the "buff" is consumed in the meantime.

This seemed to be permanent since it gave me the buff for 3 days, but once I reached "Legend of the Multiverse" max reputation with Soridormi, the buff went away.

I had already collected all mounts and pets but was missing the gift horde mount (in order to trade for the alliance gryphon), so I hoped to get this one. Sadly, I only got a stupid transmog and the buff expired... :( :( :(

I only had one mount and two pets from the rift prior to using this item. I chose the mount option and received the Perfected Juggernaut mount during the Lich King encounter. I already had the mount from the Lich King rift, so thankfully it doesn't seem to matter which theme you enter. The buff was removed afterwards.

Used this item and all I got a Gift of the Ravenous Black Griffon! and the buff is gone (unlike those that got to it early and got mount after mount because blizz screwed up and the buff didn't go away after 1st rift!

I used this when I had all mounts and all pets (including both Horde and Alliance ones). I choose Mount on the off chance something interesting will happen. Well I got a Dono del Grifone Nero Vorace, so I guess it was technically correct that I got a "new" mount.

Actually, I can confirm there is a known issue where players aren't receiving a mount/pet after using a "Greater Encapsulated Destiny" in Time Rifts. This is currently being investigated and worked on by our developers.
Since we cannot provide any mounts/pets or other rewards, we ask that you please submit a detailed bug report within the game to help our developers get a good grasp on how much the issue is affecting the community, and so the appropriate team can look further into it, prioritize a fix and dispatch it as soon as possible.

I also used the Greater Encapsulated Destiny and got nothing. However, I did die during last boss, and don't know if this matters or not. The description doesn't say anything about losing it if you die, just that you are guaranteed a mount when you complete the time rift. I did rez and finish killing the boss. I was extremely disappointed. I will probably turn in a ticket but seems no one has had any luck with Blizz about the problem.

Not had one of these yet since i don't dedicate time to one character let alone "Meta" content spamming. Just recently I used the Rare version of this and had the Nothing Drop issues most of you and others have. Let me go over how much of the items from the vendor I have acquired. 0 Pets> I literally gave them all away and game stopped giving them to me. And outside of the Plate "warfront recolors" I am missing good portions of the other 3 armor types. and about half or more of the Epic 402 Item level gear from the vendor (Played on a Druid at the time of Posting this).

Either there is some bug with how it calculates the roll/drop for gear after it cross references you character/account profile.Or there is something else happening that I don't understand. As for this Greater one not giving anything I would be ticketing that immeadatly if I was using one and had next to no items or mounts collected. Oh and speaking of Mounts even when I run this on my alts once per week for the Gear item the Wolf mount that has the horde Design keeps dropping for me no others have repeated and if i get one more that will be 9 including my initial drop.

Maybe it's fixed now or maybe I just got lucky but I used this knowing I had all the mounts and pets. Selected mounts anyway expecting a piece of cosmetic gear and that's what I got, a cosmetic sword, and the buff went away after the rift was over.

By the time I got this I had all the mounts, but was missing 1 pet so picked pet, boss died, buff disappeared and I got nothing. So not worth using right now, should have just vendored it for the 100g.
So as of 6th of September 2023 it does not seem fixed.

I got 2 mounts given to me today.
First was Gift of the Ravenous Black Gryphon
Second was Reins of the Scourgebound Vanquisher (I did not have it)

Didn't give me anything, after I deliberately didn't buy 1 of the pets.

Blizz customer service has gone so downhill too, now they just say "it's bugged, we can't do anything", when historically they'd at least try and help and could give out the missing items!

Got my White War Wolf without even notice it at my second Time Rift. I didn't have to choose anything, it just jump in my collection as soon as a came back to Soridormi 🤷‍♀️

I didn't understand that this item gives you a pet or mount that you can buy from the vendors. I've bought all the mounts and selected the mount option because i thought this was similar to Reins of the Quantum Courser where it just gives you a mount you don't have yet and now i have nothing :(

I got severely ripped off with this.
Having all the mounts and all pets except Jeepers and Killbot, I naturally chose the pet option.
So what did it give me I hear you ask ?
The stupid Gift of the White War Wolf !
Down right peeved at not getting a pet that I didn't have and now have to get enough flakes to buy Jeepers as I had just enough to get Killbot.

I'm scared to try to use this, looking at all the comments, but perhaps they have it fixed now? (As of this post it is 12/4/23)

Only things I'm missing are two pets, so I'll go for it I suppose. If i miss out on 100g oh well. I'll post an update when I do my next Time Rift.

Patch 10.2 December 30th 2023. Greater Encapsulated Destiny still bugged. Mount selected, still need the White Wolf for my horde character. No mount dropped. What a cool faction reward, thanks Blizz!

Used this 01/14/24 and received nothing. Absolutely nothing. I confirmed having the buff, I did not have rift sickness, and I did not have all the mounts (I still need the Ravenous Black Gryphon). When i go to submit a bug report, it brings up the known bug as a suggestion but tells me the issue has been resolved and the item is working as intended. Um. No.... It isn't. Nice.

Worked well for me. I collected all pets but had some mounts missing. Used the item, picked the mount option, got a missing mount.

It has not been reliably fixed. Still missing three mounts, I just used it. Instead of an receiving an "unobtained" mount, I received a Dono del Grifone Nero Vorace. Yes, I did not receive a mount, I received the opportunity to give someone else a mount. How is that a reward for rank 4 with Soridormi?

I already had all the mounts and battle pets before getting this item from Soridormi today. I still had a Jeepers battle pet drop, despite already having one in my journal & running multiple time rifts this week already.

The item description says it will grant a mount or battle pet "from one of the invading realities". That may be the reason some people get a missing mount/pet and others get nothing (or a duplicate). Sounds like the reward is limited to the vendor items of the current rift invading realities.

I don't know for sure yet. I'm just missing battle pets Jeepers (Old Gods), Doomrubble (Demons), and Briarthorn Hatchling (Titans) so I'll be looking for those invading realities before I use my item, and report back.
