To unlock Mattone per Baratto drop you need Niffen di Loamm Renown lvl 3 and complete the quest Soldi facili.
Mattone per Baratto can drop from Sniffenseek digs part of La prova di Myrrit and Treasure Chests in Zaralek Cavern.
To complete Sniffenseek digs do you need Mappa degli Scavi Barattata or Mappa degli Scavi Perduta.

Mappa degli Scavi Barattata is sold by Ponzo for Mattone per Baratto.
Mappa degli Scavi Perduta can drop from Tesori dei Niffen Podorosi reward from Un degno alleato: Niffen di Loamm.

Literally has the word currency in the tooltip, and the devs decide to drop these into your bags instead of ...the currency tab.

Seems like a fairly time-gated resource. I managed to eke out enough for the transmutation recipe with:

1 from the Get Rich Quick quest
10 from the Bartering 101 quest you get from reaching renown 3
10 from the 2x new Valdrakken quests at profession quest givers
3 from daily treasures - the waterlogged bundle and ritual offerings
0 from neither the two digs you get for free, nor from the dig map you get from the weekly quest as a reward
However I gambled and traded 3 for a dig map, and RNG'd 4 as a reward (you gotta spend bricks to make bricks)

I've seen people mentioning farming them but I don't think its possible? Smelly Trash Piles don't seem to contain them and the other treasures are limited spawns per day. They don't seem to drop from rares either.

If anyone is wondering how some players already got enough of these to buy the artisan contract recipe, there was a brief period where a quest or quests with a brick reward was unintentionally repeatable, so some people managed to get a tonne of these already.

An important thing: Alts will unlock the profession quests if you have them unlocked on another character on the account, BUT the profession quests won't give bricks unless you are rank 3 on that too. I handed in alchemy quest immediately and only later noticed I was missing 5 bricks.

Today I logged in and collected all the kinds of treasures I could find, Ritual Offerings, Stashes, Waterlogged. 0 Barter Bricks. Since they don't drop from rares or Smelly Treasures this is actually pissing me off.

While this expansion has no borrowed power it has one of the WORST types of timegate I have ever seen in this game, First the treasure achievements that require 1% drop chance maps to be found, then the unintuitive KP farming with no catch ups, then the stupid books from the Reach sandbagging the meta achievement and the 4 week timegate to get the damn mount from the vault, then the stupid Seething Slug mount that you can't even cooperate with your friends to get it. Now this stupid barter brick farm where I need 80 to buy a single recipe or wait until I have renown 20 to buy them.

@#$% THIS GAME.

Get these done on ALL alts before may 9 reset. Dracothyst prices in particular are probably going to skyrocket because of how vital of a reagent they are. They also have a 24 hour CD, so having max resourcefulness and multicraft is a huge selling point to buyers. Prices are around 9k for the Dracothyst on my extremely competitive server Bleeding Hollow - USA.

Just an example but point is you want to get as many profession recipes as possible.

OH FYI. For the ritual offerings you can fear, mass cc, stun, etc and the HURRY and loot offerings before they come back to hit you because then you wont ever get cast off. OR easier you can go invisible with potion of the hushed zephyr if youre not an invisibility class or you can sneak looting when another player is fighting mobs to get it too.

If youre a furry Vulpeera you can go in with WM off and scout area, loot what you can.
Use Set Up Camp on whatever area you prefer, closer to the rares or in the middle is ideal imo.
Then port to Valdrakken or Orgrimmar and then toggle WM on. Use Return To Camp and loot again.
You can do this every hour because thats the CD time 1 hour for the return to camp racial.

I dont think the offerings are WM ONLY, if they are please correct me.

Seems like they nerfed Mattone per Baratto drop from Ritual Offerings.
Wth is going on? First they remove the Profession Quests from alts that rewarded 2 x 5 Mattone per Baratto and now this.

Went there on 4 different characters and looted all 4 of them, 0 drops.
(Those characters had earlier looted them this week with drops).
Could be they now want them to be "once pr. week" drop so you cant farm them daily.

So, I've got a total of 13 Toons all parked in ZC. 2 Days ago, I was getting 5 Barter Bricks; 4 from Ritual Offering & 1 from Waterlogged Bundle per toon. Yesterday I got a big fat 0 and today a total of 5 across the whole account. They've nerfed the holy hell out of Barter Brick drop rates.

Either they completely removed Barter Brick drops or there is a weekly hard cap on how many you can get from treasures/events.

I do hope everyone is sending a suggestion to Blizzard to do something about these. As it is right now, it's a slap in the face for us, especially since many players used the exploit to get months ahead of everyone else, unpunished. Blizzard shoud either lower the costs of everything purchasable with these or heavily lift up the drop rates and remove the apparent hidden weekly hard cap you can get from ritual offerings and waterlogged bundle. This cannot stay as it currently is.

It's such a poor design simply from the fact that one toon with 2 crafting professions could never get all the recipes as fast as two toons with 1 crafting profession each. These should not be time-gated at all.

I believe its a weekly cap of these Barters Bricks
I havent got any for 3 days now, and I have 33 in my bags.
Did buy the treasure map from Ponzo that cost 3 Barters Brick. So would mean I got 36 total.
I have taken all 4 Ritual Offerings everyday, nothing in them and also the waterlogged bundles.

3 Barters brick for Barters Dig Map
25 Barters Bricks for Ponzos Cream
80 Barters Bricks for Glimmerog Timeshare Voucher
170 Barters Bricks Mount Boulder Hauler Reins
85 Barters Bricks pet Timblerig
35 + 90 Barters Bricks for Proffessions (times 2 since you have 2 proffessions)
55 Barters bricks Mount looks 3 of them x3
this is a total 778 Barters Brick. Looks like we will grind until year 2030 (or atleast 15 months )
(Didnt count the proffs quests thats 5+5 Barters, hopefully every week )
At Renown rank 12 we will be able to find Barters Boulder
Apparantly they will make it easier to grind but dont know how it works yet

I also think there is a weekly hardcap for normal non exploiting players. I am currently sitting at 36 and haven't found any past that on multiple characters. It is really frustrating to know there is players out there that are making multimillions with the recipes they got through exploits and will probably continue to do so for atleast 1 or 2 weeks (unless Blizz does something like removing the hardcap). They will practically dominate the economy for the entire World First Race and beyond. This is in my opinion a really big hit for all crafters in the same field and has to be addressed by punishing the exploiters and their knowing benefactors as well as removing the weekly cap + and buffing droprates or reducing the prices of those recipes.

Macigno per Baratto replaces Barter Brick when you reach renown level 12, a few things to note:

All things that previously awarded Barter Bricks will now award Barter Boulders instead (at the same amount).
You can only buy items from vendors with Barter Boulders now, also prices are reduced (only 85 for the mount).
You can convert any Barter Bricks you already have into Barter Boulders at Ponzo at a ratio of 3 to 1.
At renown level 20 you can buy Barter Boulder for 100 Rifornimenti delle Isole dei Draghi each (account-wide).

Mattone per Baratto can be found in Smelly Treasure Chests, which can be unlocked on Renown 11. The Smelly Treasure Chests are Treasures within Zaralek Cavern which have to be dug out from Smelly Disturbed Dirt with a Badile della Spedizione Robusto or similar tool.

I'm not sure about a hardcap as some of my characters are sitting at 31 and some at 34 after today.

For example:
My Warlock was at 31 and didn't loot one Mattone per Baratto today.
My Hunter was at 33 and got 1 from the Mucchio Fradicio today (none from the Ritual Offerings).
My Warrior was at 32 and got 1 from the Mucchio Fradicio today (none from the Ritual Offerings).

It just doesn't fit the pattern of a hardcap. More like a softcap that the dropchance is heavily reduced after a certain amount.

Fun fact, if you've been farming the bricks for a while, and you break renown 12 while farming, congrats, you are not going to get anymore bricks. Only boulders. Your bricks are worth a third of a boulder. The drops in price for everything Ponzo sells are not at all comparable for this. I got to 79 bricks and got screwed over and I might've screamed once I realized what'd happened.

Waterlogged bundles and Ritual offerings apparently don't drop barter bricks anymore. I guess it is one way to ensure that those who used the exploit to jump ahead of everyone else get the maximum advantage.

When in Zaralek, be sure to have a expedition shovel (or sturdy shovel from the auction house). Having them in your inventory makes smelly dirt piles visible, which contain pretty much guaranteed bricks/boulders super easy
