Modello: Diapason Cristallino Can be purchased from Commerciante Hag'arth Near the docks of Morqut Village (new hub in 10.0.7). This will cost you 10x Prova dell'Artigiano and at least level 50 in Dragonflight Jewelcrafting.
Unfortunately, the rare quality item required Forchettone Cristallino drops from any mob on the Forgotten Reach, and it is NOT limited to only jewelcrafters. You can get the cooking item, the tailoring item, etc. and each of them are rare drops. Once you find the fork, you can craft the tuning fork, and summon Lapistoico which is a rare summonable that will drop the pattern : Modello: Elementio Instabile. This pattern in turn, will allow you to upgrade the primordial stone gems for your Anellino d'Onice using 10 Frammento Primordiale Dormiente and 25 Polvere di Gemma Setosa (of any rank). This is how you will be able to obtain the maximum item level on your primordial gems.

At the time of writing, 3 hours of grinding elite and non-elite mobs on the island and I have acquired:

Spezie Scialbe x1

several items for rep turnin that are associated with rare drops as well (like Pesce Meraviglioso). Take note, each of the rep turnin items started off as a treasure map to locate an item and the profession ones did not.

Rare has 800k health (rather than the 7 mil that others have). killing him gave 2x 3* ysemeralds, 2x prisomatic ore, 1x 3* neltharite
vault key, few green gems, vault key, primalist BoA token, elemental overflow, and the design unstable elementium

Note that the tooltip on WoWHead is inaccurate, you need to be lvl 70 to learn this recipe, not 58.

Is Amephyst farmable, or is looting it a weekly lockout like Trial of Elements?

I never learned the tuning fork recipe but i circumvented this by obtaining Modello: Elementio Instabile on the first drop after someone else summon it with the tuning fork.

I’m not sure if I was just insanely lucky or if it’s 100% for jewelcrafters?

It seems 100% chance drop or very high ; just made a group with 4 other JC and it dropped for everyone

For anyone wondering, this does drop for players who are below level 70 and under 50 JC skill. I obtained it on my level 65 JC alt with 29 skill. I was able to level up my JC to 50 and use it without needing to reach player level 70.

I got this recipe on the first kill of Amyphest so it does appear to be a 100% drop rate based on what everyone else here is saying.
