When you interact with the Ratto della Ricetta in one of the Zskera Vault rooms in post-storm Forbidden Reach (10.0.7) , this Ratto della Ricetta will go into your bags. It will only stay there for further negotiations when you have enough Provola Stagionata in your bags (5min cooldown, you'll have to repeat that until you've collected 30x Pagina di Ricetta Strappata).
Be aware, your Cheddar will disappear over time! As long as you have the rat in your pockets, it will remove 1x piece every ~175 seconds. With 30x Pagina di Ricetta Strappata you can use Unione Frammenti di Ricetta to get the Riceratta: Uova Diabolicamente Piccanti recipe for cooking Uova Diabolicamente Piccanti.

Thanks to Lazey's suggestion of keeping Aged Cheddar, I was able to get this recipe in one sitting with a little patience to allow the time to run its course.

The attempts to negotiate were as follows:
2 Torn Recipe Scraps
(Then read the Aged Cheddar suggestion, went to the city, bought 20, and came back.)
6 Torn Recipe Scraps
5 Torn Recipe Scraps
5 Torn Recipe Scraps
4 Torn Recipe Scraps
6 Torn Recipe Scraps
7 Torn Recipe Scraps (leaving an excess of 5)

So after about a half an hour, you can get the recipe.

You can leave the vault with the rat.

All the rat cares about is whether you're still carrying Provola Stagionata.

So you can go about your business rare farming or whatever & just keep negotiating with it every five minutes - I'd suggest putting the item on a spare action bar so you can easily see the CD + click it again.

Edit: In the interests of Science I repeated it on an alt. Rat happily flew back to Valdrakken & through the portal to Stormwind with me. Stay for a Dalaran Hearthstone. When I used a regular hearthstone to get back to Valdrakken, it ate a piece of cheese immediately on appearing at the inn. So I suspect Dontlookdown's experience was the rat trying to eat immediately on entering Org - either due to unlucky timing or it'll always eat immediately after a hearth.

Edit 2: You can also log out. Cheese is not eaten up while you're offline, but the item cooldown comes available after 5 minutes offline (as per normal), so you could possibly even use logging out to get the recipe without having cheese... but that would be fiddly & annoying.

Absolutely devastated that he dips out once you have the recipe. Hopefully Blizzard will give us a toy or companion pet so we can still hang out with him.

Unfortunately I guess I wasn't quick enough, I had to read up what this guy was for. I wasn't super fast nor slow, opened 1 extra vault door hearthed ran to org to buy cheese and he was gone =(. next time I will try and use my org cloak teleport and get cheese faster.

Miwana in Orgrimmar sells the Finely Aged Cheddar. She's an innkeeper located at 39, 48 in the Valley of Wisdom.
I bought 3 stacks of cheese, kept the rat in my bag for about an hour (forgot to click on it a few times) and he didn't even eat through one stack. I think if you bought a stack of cheese you'd be safe unless you were suuuuper forgetful. :)

BTW, Katy's Stampwhistle works also in the Zskera Vault, no need to rush to Orgrimmar or Stormwind. (Unless the rat asked you for a sightseeing tour, of course.)

So I had no clue what this little guy was and while I was looking him up on here, he ran away from my bags.
BUT FEAR NOT! This little fella will be back in the vault where you found him so just go buy some Provola Stagionata, come back and click him again.
Also giving him cheese gives you more Pagina di Ricetta Strappata than not having any in your bag. Depending on your RNG you can get the recipe in around 15mins instead of 15 hours.

Starting any trial in The Proving Grounds will let you reset the Cooldown on Ratto della Ricetta over and over if you don't feel like waiting around and watching him eat all your Provola Stagionata.

i found this small rat on the floor of a vault chamber (fourth level, south west door, which others have also reported as a location). There were some small rat mobs to be killed in the room as well. Clicking on the small rat (which - of course - wears a small chef's hat) made this item appear in my bag. Click on it from time to time (5 min cooldown by the looks of it) and it will give you a few Pagina di Ricetta Strappata. I had some Provola Stagionata in my bags as well, because someone told it that would be a good idea this week...

For 2 weeks in a row, I unlocked every door and couldn't find recipe rat, I even tried to /tar Recipe rat and couldn't target him.

the scraps only stack to 30 so if your inventory is full. which it always is in here. if the rat would give you scraps over the total of 30 they get sent to the mailbox

I got it with no cheese I just would wait for it to lave my bag and jump back to the room he spawned in killed the other rats got it in the bag clicked and got pages.

But went back with cheese for the achievement.

Just FYI, you don't have to leave the vault if the rat disappears and you don't have to feed it cheddar. You can simply walk out of the room and walk back in again and get attacked by ravenous rats until the recipe rat shows up again. I was able to keep doing this until I negotiated and had all scraps. Of course, you might have to wait for cooldowns, but that's easy enough.

If you're not sure where this little guy is, he'll be in a room where other rats "Ravenous Fleshnibbler" are. He might be hard to spot and doesn't show up with the Celestial Transocular goggles.

So, I just tried the cheese thing. I grabbed Recipe Rat, hearthed to SW and bought 20 Fine Aged Cheddar from Elaine Trias. Less than a minute later, the whole stack disappears, then about 15 seconds after that, he scampers off. I've just bought 6 more stacks of cheese, and now have to make the trek back to the vaults to try again.

An easy way to find this guy if he is in your vault:

1) Get up to the third level as early as possible
2) Use /target recipe and if the rat is up, you'll target him
3) Mark the rat with a raid marker
edit - By default your keypad 1-9 buttons should be mapped to applying raid markers. Use one of your choice. This mark is visible through walls.

You can now effectively see which room the rat is in, and go open that room. Today I had the scrolls out in the open floor so I was able to get the rat on my first key using this method.

Inside a box there is a "Squeaky Cheese" then repeat with another set of Fine Aged Chedder and get the Charitable Cheddar recipe

I forgot the cheese but found if you pick the rat up, get the scraps, wait approx 4.30 minutes then /reload you can rinse repeat till done...
at 2-7 scraps each time it took about an hour

If your rat disappears from your bags and is no longer at the place where you found him, try using your stack of scraps even if you don't have 30. I only had 28 when the rat disappeared. I used them and it made the recipe.

NO WAY! YOU CAN LOOT HIM IN ZARALEK NOW! I was sucking carrots in Zskera Vault for weeks now, waiting it to spawn in a room, using the target macro just to get dissappointed again and again and I look it up and you CAN LOOT the recipe rat in Zaralek Caverns, near Obsidian Rest flight point, coords: 52.47, 26.80! I. AM. SO. DONE.

For in case anyone was wondering, if this item disappears from your bag and you looted it in Zaralek Cavern, you can go back and loot the rat again.

Oh, and, if you have any Zocalo Cheddar (possibly any cheese?) in your bags, the greedy little rat will not only eat the Fine Aged Cheddar, but that too. 😅

To be clear: the 20 Provola Stagionata you buy is just to keep him from leaving your bags after each time you use him. It's not actually used during the Grovel action.

I know that info is listed above, but the phrasing was not clear to me.

This one is bugged for me, interact with the rat, with bag full of cheese it just respawns in the same spot without interaction. non of the cheese are missing and now i can't get that darn recipe.

I've ran into a bug with this little fella...
I'm at 28 Pagina di Ricetta Strappatas and Ratto della Ricetta isn't clickable for me anymore. I didn't have cheese so i just waited for the cooldown and got to 28 scraps, but I couldn't right click it to get into my bags for the final pieces. I had deleted the item Ratto della Ricetta from my bags once, so I tried to restore it via the Item Restoration service, but it "scurried away" from my bags before I could finish the interaction to get the final 2.
I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with me deleting some scraps weeks ago, that it's detecting it's already given me 30 scraps even though I currently only have 28.
Already opened a support ticket but they only told me to open a bug thread on the forums.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Didn't have cheese - just clicked him every 5 minutes. He stopped after a while but you can reload and he's back. It took about 30 minutes and got the recipe for eggs.

Since there have been comment about bugs ect i went the safe way - I bought the cheese for our fellow

He ate 13 Fine Aged Cheddar during the time I got my 30 scraps - I had bought a lot more since you need it for the achievement.

To do The Gift of Cheese you will need:
50x Charitable Cheddar

To craft them you will need a total of:
50x Fine Aged Cheddar (Cheapest sells for 24 silver per 5 in SW/Ogr).
20 x Spicy Sharp Cheddar (Sold by Kurd Butterhoof in Thunder Totem (Legion)) for 2g per 5).
10 x Zocalo Cheddar (Can be bought from Xun Xun Sweetflower in Drustvar for 2g 50silver per 5).
10 x Gold Bar (Can be bought from AH or best farmed in Felwood).
