Got one from killing Saggianguilla, la Primavera after throwing 5 Conchiglia Inquietante into a Lurker Sighting. I imagine there may be a few different spawns which can drop these.

This item is for upgrading Iskaara Tuskarr equipment. You get access to these upgrades after completing the "normal" ones. I managed to get enough of this item in 2 days for all of the upgrades. When I was doing it, the Roaring Dragonsprings and River Mouth Fishing Holes were up. What I did was to find a "Lunker" group at River Mouth until all 3 rares that can spawn there has been spawned and killed. They have a chance to spawn when throwing Ominous Conch at the "Large Lunker Sighting", which is marked by a whale tail structure. Additionally, without forming any group, I threw Ominous Conch at the sighting at the fishing hole in Ohn'Ahran (Roaring Dragonsprings) as well. This spawned Astray Splasher, which is not a rare, but can drop this item. You have a chance to loot this item from each of them once a day, so i killed this 4 Elites/Rares two days in a row, and after this I had enough. Astray Splasher gave me this item both days, and is easier to spawn as it is not a rare.

I got this item and it says to bring to Tavio to improve my Iskaar Harpoon (which is in my bag) but he has no dialog related to it - I have no idea what to do!

I have seen zero of these drop with max Fishing, 17+ Renown, all other fishing equipment acquired, the achievement for 100 Lunkers, and multiple rare kills. Am I hosed?

I got this on a toon as a drop but I took it to Tavio and nothing happened and I see no way to use it. After looking at the "Reagant for" section of this I'm assuming you have to have Renown 18 on at least one toon with Iskaar for this to be used and I'm nowhere near that.

These drop from the rarespawn lunkers

The best way to farm these is to join a lunker farming mega group in group finder and kill one of each rare-spawn lunker each day. The permanent waking shore lunker spot can spawn the giant frog, giant hydra, and water elemental rarespawns ( dont remember names sorry) and you can spawn another rarespawn lunker at whichever other fishing spot is currently active (has a big fish icon on the world map)

You'll need 3-4 total to max out your fishing gear, and you can use alts even if they've never touched fishing or the Iskaara rep

I've farmed mine daily from the Spruzzatore Disperso in Tyrhold (Thaldraszus) and Mountains (Ohn'ahran Plains) fishing spots.

You only need 5 Conchiglia Inquietante daily for a try. You have a 100% chance of getting that elite, or a bigger rare, all of them have a chance to drop Resina Infusa di Khaz'gorite, so you are ensuring all your Conchiglia Inquietante will have a chance to drop the item.

If you throw Conchiglia Inquietante in the permanent fishing spot, you will mostly spawn useless lurkers, and you will have to be lucky to spawn a rare.

TL;DR: Use 5 Conchiglia Inquietante daily when the weekly fishing spot is in Thaldraszus or Ohn'ahran Plains.

This item can be turned in to Tavio for 250 rep every week. Additional turn ins per week yield only 25 rep at 26 renown.

Ive gone through hundreds of ominous conch and harpooned the rare spawn lunkers at every location, (lava area, thaldrazus area, and the normal areas by ruby pools and have not gotten the resin. i have all the other mats becaue i literally fish all the time, its basicly all i do, and the soup cooks of course. so i thought it was broken and they hadnt added the resin yet.
at least now i know its just my bad luck and not a bug or broken item. thx (btw my tep w tukar is 29, prolly gonna get 30 today :)

I'm renown 20 with Iskaara, I have this item and I made a harpoon. But there are no alternatives, interaction or dialogue from Tavio. Can't do anything with this item.

There was a bug they silently fixed in 10.0.7. I was getting zero drops until 10.0.7 despite doing this daily. Now I've gotten the three I needed to drop, three days in a row!

These drop best when the second fishing area is in Thaldraszus or Ohn'ahran Plains
Drop 5 Ominous Conchs at the rare fish sighting
Kill the rare and loot.
YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE PER DAY! Don't waste your conchs.
