Massive PvP island that hosts Draenor capitals- Warspear on the North for Horde and Stormshield on the south for Alliance, both located on a mini-islands connected to the main one by bridges. They have portals to all the cities, probably to Vale Shrines too.

The main island is a massive PvP battleground, but not much is known about it.

Unlike battlegrounds or PvP zones, Ashran has no singular objective or way to permanently "win" the battle. While victory in the current battle is achieved by reducing the enemy's reinforcements to zero, each completed battle is followed shortly by the beginning of the next, allowing the enemy to rally and wreak vengeance upon their opponents.

Ashran is a level 100 instancedcross-realm "end game" world PvP zone planned for release as part of Warlords of Draenor.The name also refers to the greater Ashran zone, including the Alliance and Horde capitals, which are set outside of the PvP zone itself.

The zone has a cap of roughly 100 players per side. When a player enters the zone, they will either be invited to join the battle, or if the zone is already at the cap for their faction, placed in a queue to join. Players who are not currently part of the battle will be teleported back to their faction staging area after a few seconds. Queued players will be invited to join the battle through a summons which will teleport them into the zone. Entering Ashran will automatically flag players for PvP combat, regardless of server type, and players will remain PvP flagged as long they are in the zone.

Found off the north east coast of Draenor's Tanaan Jungle, Ashran is the same island that held Deathwing's Lair shortly after the Second War.

History
The island of Ashran was once home to a mighty ogre empire, apparently ruled at some point by Kor'lok. While apparently now in ruin, the island features signs of a once great settlement, including towers, arenas and extensive mines. In the aftermath of the Second War, Deathwing built a lair on the island, but this was later razed, forcing the dragon to return to Azeroth.

Given the dominant presence of the Ashmaul ogre clan, it may be inferred that the Ashmaul were either the controlling ogre power on the island prior to its fall into dilapidation, or else have descended from that power. Alternatively the Ashmaul may have conquered the island more recently, with earlier empires having ruled before the clan's rise to power. Ashmaul culture appears to revolve around fire magic, with the clan's ranks including pyromancers, flamespeakers and magma casters, as well as the support of a host of summoned fire elementals.

The smaller Gor'vosh ogre clan, found only in the southeast of the island, appear to be the less dominant clan. Making their home in the Ashmaul Burial Grounds, these ogres practice necromantic arts, and have raised a number of undead ogres from the remains in the area, presumably belonging to ogres from the Ashmaul clan, given the area's title. The two clans appear to be locked in a bitter rivalry.

The island is of great importance to both the Alliance and the Horde due to the presence of ancient artifacts which hold great power. The fragments of artifacts found scattered across the isle are valued by both factions, as well as by the Highmaul ogre clan,while organisations such as The Reliquary keenly seek larger and more intact specimens from which to gain understanding and power, with the remarkable effects witnessed in the intact Ancient Artifacts occasionally found on the island demanding further investigation. The Alliance's investigations are headed up by Harrison Jones, while Belloc Brightblade leads the Horde's efforts.

The Alliance are seeking a specific, large artifact, theorised by Harrison Jones to have powers rivalling that of titan technology. The artifact appears to have military applications, with the possibility of using it or the knowledge gained from it against the Horde. The Horde are aware of the Alliance's search, and are attempting to find it first. Both factions claim to seek control of the artifact in order to defend themselves against the other.

The Reliquary claim to wish to study the artifacts in order to give the Horde the upper hand in the war, in which pursuit they have come into conflict with the Steamwheedle Cartel, who have taken possession of quantities of the artifacts for their own commercial interests, and have a very different idea of the true meaning of the word "priceless". Apparently the goblins have begun selling Ashran "souvenirs", stringing together Artifact Fragment and selling them as jewelry.

Since arriving on the island, each faction has established control of an entrance to the main mines beneath the island, subsequently blocking access even to respected adventurers due to "work" going on inside, and posting guards at the barricaded entrances. Harrison Jones believes the artifact sought by both factions to be located in the mines, and according to Horde spies the Alliance is currently building machinery used to drill through rocks.Not to be outdone, the blood elves have already discovered "something big" in the mines, supposedly a part of the artifact for which the Alliance have been searching.

In your "backyard" there's a little tower. Go inside and take the stairs up, there's a portal to Ashran. Now you might not have to keep your HS there, hopefully this was useful information.

Edit: Right, this is for the ALLIANCE. I have no idea what a horde garrison lvl 3 looks like, so feel free to share.

To get there for the first time (At least for the alliance), there is a quest in your garrison which will allow you to talk to the gryphon person and there is an option for "take me to stormshield in ashran"

After that the flight path is available.

When you farm in areas behind enemy frontline you will gain La Fortuna Aiuta gli Audaci which gives you 250%(The tooltip says 25% but the buff description says 250%) more Frammento di Manufatto and 25% more .
increases your damage and healing by 200% and health by 100% for 30 min. With the 3x damage buff you can hit enemies for 150k with various items. It takes several seconds to capture the articact, and the capture can be interrupted by damage. If you die, switch spec or cancel the buff, the Ancient Artifact will drop.
Fischietto del Capitano(Removed) is rewarded from Fischietto del Capitano(A)/Fischietto del Capitano(H) for 100 Artifact fragments. Summons a Captain in the Road of Glory.1 hour cd.

Brute's Rise

Each Boulder Pile gives you 3 boulders. Throwing a boulder deals about 50k aoe damage. It is very useful for clearing ogre mobs for farming, and Evento: Fuochi degli Ogre. It also deals substantial damage in PvP. Make sure you throw all 3 boulders before picking another Boulder Pile because there is some bug.
Bivalve dei Mazzacinerea Contains Perla dei Mazzacinerea, which can buy Pozione d'Annata della Libertà d'Azione for 10 Ashmaul Pearls.
Formapietre Gor'vosh Catturato gives you Scudo Macigno once you free him. This buff gives you a shield up to about 300k that regenerates while out of combat. Once you have Boulder Shield you will not be able to interact with another Captured Gor'vosh Stoneshaper.

Molten Quarry

Geode del Potere gives Geode del Potere when killed for 20 seconds. This buff multiplies with Ancient Artifact. If you have Ancient artifact and Power Geode in the same time you will have 6x damage and healing.
Divoratore Balzante gives you Residuo del Balzo Divoratore for 20 minutes. The buff sometimes procs Gambe Salterine when you jump, allows you to propel upfront for 3 times. You can use this buff to climb over cliffs.

Gorian Falls

Tubero di Radice di Stella restores 21875 to 28125 health and reduces damage taken by 40% for 10 sec.(3 Min Cooldown)

When you catch Melma Viscida you will gain Melma Viscida for 20 minutes. The buff sometimes makes you Imprendibilità for 3 seconds, increasing your walking speed to 250% and mount speed to 300%.
Flytraps in this area will give you Tossine di Acchiappamosche +50% damage dealt and +50% damage taken when you stand near it. Again this buff multiplies with Ancient Artifact.

Ashmaul Burial Grounds

He usually Smites the enemy for about 12k, but can heal you when you are low on health- about 72k per flash heal.
There are heaps of spider silk which you can pick up and throw to root an enemy.

All class books teach you an ability for 1 hour and persists through death. They are all bind on pickup and you can have 5 copies of a book at a time.

Death Knight	Sigillo della Presa Mortale	When using your Dark Simulacrum ability, you can now cast the stolen spell unlimited amount of times for the duration. The duration of Dark Simulacrum is also increased by 30 sec.

Queueing for this is just ridiculous, but it's probably the only way to make it work. If the battleground wasn't instanced like that it probably would lag whole Draenor all hell..

I really wish there were some simple queue free way to farm just couple of thousand Honor Points. Gate it to a weekly reset if spamfarming it is the problem..

The mechanism of queuing and teleporting in ashran:

When you enter Ashran, a dialog box will pop asking whether you wish to join the Ashran battle. If there is available place in Ashran you can join the Ashran battle, else you'll join the queue. The dialog box lasts for 1 minute (or until you move out of Ashran), if you do nothing and don't move out of Ashran after that 1 minute the system will assume you will join Ashran battle/queue. If you are not part of Ashran battle and remain in Ashran queue, you will be teleported out in 10 seconds.

That means you can have at most 70 seconds of activity in Ashran if you cannot queue into the battle. If you enter Ashran in the right time, you may get credit and reward for killing general/completing events.(Use Zattera da Pesca dei Lancialenza or Redini del Gerride Azzurro to enter Ashran via sea) ~~You can also do the Ashran daily by buying/refunding artifact fragment items at your quartermasters.~~(fixed)

~~Another important note: If you leave queue for Ashran while you are in Ashran you will be teleported to your hearthstone location. Beware.~~(Was fixed to teleported to Ashran queuing zone)

The biggest issue with this area is not so much the queue time (never had a problem with this on Mazrigos) it is the INSANE latency once you get into Combat Zones.

At times your character is simply frozen (paralysed) by the time lag, more often than not while some opposing faction player is beating the crap out of you! Not very useful given that you will almost certainly die & get looted.

Why this problem exists more in this region than others I can only assume is down to sheer volume of players. In which case may I suggest the realm servers are 'beefed up' a bit to cater for high pop levels.
Another problem is that (occasionally, but annoyingly still quite frequent) when you Hearthstone anywhere the game play is frozen & log out/back in is required.

Now, while it's true that latency issues do exist in other elements of Draenor, none is as bad as on Ashran, & it makes the experience of taking part in the events/quests infuriating to the point of needing anger management therapy!

On a side issue, if you fancy making some easy G but arn't really geared for PvP you could do worse than make your way to Brutes Rise beach (swim round if you like) & loot as many Ashmaul Clams for their pearls as you can find. Aside from a useful buff you also get 30G+ per 10 pearls on turn in. You will also pick up quite a few tokens for Honor Points by killing the beach crabs. Watch out for opposing faction players though! On a good run you can pick up 60 or so pearls.

EDIT: In their infinite wisdom (sic) Blizz have decided, as of 6.1 to remove the clams, so this nice little earner has now disappeared. And they wonder why some go to 3rd party sites to buy G!

the biggest sickness is not queue. Ive been waiting nearly an hour at 5.30am and when i finally get inside i found myself among 10 (TEN) players. all ashran events are repeatable which make you a victim of endless conquests points farm. that means that without any challenge of opposite faction you can gear yourself up for pvp. I dont know if there is another step of blizzard to make wow a game for simpletons or is this just a bug which makes this game easier once again. The 350 Conquest point from killing the other faction's leader has been removed and replaced by "removing Aspirant gear from the Gleaming Ashmaul Strongbox. That means it will always award either Combatant (ilevel 620/675) or Gladiator (ilevel 660/690) gear"

There are 2 main reasons for going to Ashran.
The first reason is to farm mobs for the auction parts that are needed to build an auctioneer in your garrison and the second is to PVP.
There are only 2 ways of doing these things properly.
For the parts you need to farm alone so slip into the zone and head to an area with no events and farm away, avoid the centre strip where the PVP action takes place and avoid event areas.
For PVP use the LFG to find a big group. Ashran is just one big zerg and you really want to be with 39 friends. From my experience, depending on server, it is either dominated by one side or another. Trying to PVP on your own will be frustrating and more likely than not your survival rate will be similar to walking across a motorway with a blind fold on!
Last tip, if you are being camped at the central graveyard you can corpse run to your base and rez there.

The 6.2 patch really killed Ashran.

Ashran Is a huge map with no players now, no reliable queues(not organized as a random BG would be).

I feel like I'm on an Alterac Valley searching for an ennemy player 10 min and when I find one he is with his friends so I get ganked and my other teamates are scattered all over the place either at the graveyard or entering the map or soloing IDKW or leaving Ashran never to come back again... coz let's face it Ashran sucks big time now!

I keep getting the message - "You do not meet the requirements for the chosen dungeon - you are now queued for Ashran" - but there is no "queue" icon - and I am level 106.

just recently stepped back to Ashran since a long time and rather than feeling bored, I really enjoyed the gameplay. Actually its a quite diverse place/zone to hang around and explore with many different types of events and some pvp going on. Just my 5 cents, get there before they will remove it with the next expansion...

SO, As of today (18 July 2018) you can finally free fly into Ashran again without having to que for PVP - YAY!
However, when you fly in there are no mobs. NO MOBS ANYWHERE!
I’m hoping this is just a bug?
I know that as of Patch 8 they are removing Ashran (which has obviously happened to some extent as you can now fly straight in again), but i assume they are just removing the PVP instance - not the actual area and mobs?
Anyone experience similar?
I need parts for my garrison Auction House please Blizzard.

Since Blizzard deactivated Ashran PvP, Dazzerian is now standing outside of the Lancia da Guerra great hall and Magistro Langley is now standing outside of the Sprocket's Garage in Scudo del Vento next to the other PvP vendors. If you haven't earned the reputation with the Lancia di Vol'jin/Avanguardia di Wrynn before the deactivation, you will no longer be able to get it done. Medaglione della Legione used to offer reputation with Lancia di Vol'jin/Avanguardia di Wrynn but other players has confirmed it no longer does. If you didn't complete it before, then you are out of luck with this one. Players who did in fact get the reputation to exalted will still be able to purchase their goods though. While Macchina Volante Tascabile Usa e Getta/Macchina Volante Tascabile Usa e Getta only requires friendly reputation, it's useless now when you can't access Ashran anyway so don't waste the gold on it.
