when I went there the first time, I was in pure awe....

then I was dissappointed, since you just take the quest from Thrall and hop on a mount, and fly into the center of it to get to Deepholm......afterwards you can port back to your major city, but when you use the same port again,...it'll take you stright back into Deepholm......not the Malestrom to see it again..

There you have Thrall, a shaman controlling a maelstrom that apparently is going to make Azeroth litterally fall into itself if he don't do anything.
And you have Garrosh, a "warchief" of sorts that the only ability he demonstrated was to say the wrong thing at most stupid moment.
No one should EVER compare them...

I somehow find it amusing that the only place in Azeroth that has been pretty much impossible to go to in lorewise has no map.

I have to say Thrall is the single most bad ass shaman... bad ass npc in this game. hes taking control of the maelstrom so azeroth wont be torn apart. biggest horde loss ever im gonna miss our true warchief

I guess blizz won't let anyone back there because if heaps of people went the lag could throw off thrall's concentration and if he got d/c'd well..... you know what would happen.

After my hardwork in Vashj'ir, I was instructed by the Circolo della Terra to return to Roccavento and speak with Naraat l'Oratore della Terra. Naraat quickly gives me a quest Il Maelstrom and was nice enough to teleport me to Maelstrom.

The horde version starts with Chiaroveggente Krogar giving you the same quest Il Maelstrom

Both faction quests end with Thrall at Maelstrom.

On arrival you are standing on a small rock outcropping with the following NPCs:
Thrall, Aggra and Viverna Aggra's mount which will fly you throuhg the eye of the storm and into Deepholm

There are 2 other NPCs with in this zone helping Thrall: Muln Terra Furiosa and Chiaroveggente Nobundo however it can be difficult to see them on the rocks across the Maelstrom, east of where Thrall is facing. You can target them through "/target muln" in your command line

The funny, and slightly disappointing thing is, that despite this area taking up such a prominent amount of space on the world map for years - the zone itself is no larger than one of the Tol Barad islands.
