The thing most people aren't "getting" is that, yes, the effect is similar to Trauma, but you can activate it when you need it, and it works on every single heal you cast during the 15 second period of the effect. In this manner you can blanket the entire raid by casting heals on both ranged and melee groupings during it's period of time.

Another thing is that since you cause the "target" of your heal to heal themselves and all friends within 10 yards, it's probable that if you were to cast heals on each person in melee range with fast heals, the pulsing would stack because it sounds like only the target of the heal gains a buff that pulses a point blank area of effect heal. I'm not sure it'll work this way, but the wording suggests it does, and if so, by hitting each target in a group with a heal, you'd be ensuring that every time you finish casting the entire group of people would be healed for 2k over time in addition to everything else going on.

If it turns out to not work this way, it will be surprising and disappointing, but that's how it sounds at this juncture.

This trinket will be AMAZING for a Resto Shammy. As each hit from Chain Heal counts as a direct heal gives us another "OS" button.
Pop it before massive Raid damage (i.e. Bonestorm or Pungent Blight, or Unstable Explosion) and with 2 casts, 1 to melee and to ranged, you can get some awesome heals off.

If im correct it should be classed as a direct heal.

it should be quite wicked for any priest tbh.

The possibility of this trinket stacking with itself (IE multiple 'buffs' that proc a heal each), is probably not going to happen, heres the math assuming best usage (raid stacked up like LK):

Non-Stacking:
356 HP (per sec) x 25 players x 21 sec (heal that proc's it right as CD is used, and another just as its ready to expire) = 186,900 HP Max possible output from this trinket on that 2min CD

The reason it couldn't possibly stack is:
356 HP (x6 sec) x 25 players = 53400 bonus per GCD for SINGLE target heal, for 15 sec, or 801,000 HP bonus from a 2min CD
That final 801k is multiplied by the number of targets that are possibly hit (shaman chain heal, so its x4, divided by the final CH cast time which is 1.65sec ish for higher end gear), for a total of 1,941,000 max potential for a 2min CD (for a Resto Sham).

Definately will be a great item, for the healers that don't need heavy regen (shorter fights, and those requiring higher output).

Somehow I doubt this trinket will go live, in its current design (perhaps changed to a low ICD effect similar to Trauma, but with the direct healing part intact). Its incredibly powerful (by a factor of 25-100x stronger than other 'proc heal' type effects...), and probably borderline OP when used in the maximum effect style scenario.

I was really upset to find the base stat on this was spell power instead of intellect, considering we already have 277 spell power and mp5 trinkets and the natural course would be to diversify. None the less the proc on this trinket seems solid enough to be possibly BiS, seeing as you can activate it to deal with periods of heavy damage. If the heroic version comes in 284 ilvl it will be unquestionably BiS for all healing classes (druids included as they can simply regrowth spam to proc this, circumventing the direct heal requirement with ease). Even if you're not Trauma's biggest fan this trinket will definitely bring impressive results.

As a Flash of Light focused pally, I have to say this is an amazing trinket. Spellpower is one of my main focuses, mana regen is useless anyway, and the fact that it's a direct heal (rather than any heal with a stupid-low chance to proc like trauma) makes it very effective and efficient with my 1second flash of light for under 300 mana. I'm very much looking forward to this trinket.

No one has yet mentioned how insanely effective this will be with glyphed Circle of Healing. Two casts within the 15s cooldown, each healing six people directly and each of those direct heals proccing heals onto neighbours too. Twelve people hit = a lot of friends to get healed by the "splash" heal. Outstanding.

You're getting a tad ahead of yourself there, skribs on the holy priest theory. :)

You're assuming that the most effective usage of this would be just from spamming Prayer of Healing, but that's not entirely true. Priests have a bunch of direct heals that can rattle around at the same time. As you pointed out when correcting Arkhan, assuming you pop your first CoH at the start of the trink's use, you can get three CoH's in with two seconds to spare. In addition, you can get two to three reapplications of Prayer of Mending (as in you sending out a new PoM spell, not necessarily an old one jumping). In between all of that, the priest can opt to either go AoE-heavy with PoH, which would ideally circulate the trink's procs as much as possible, or focus fire specific areas with single-target instants, such as a Surge'd Flash Heal or an Empowered Renew, in which case the healing is going where it needs to go most when it needs to go there.

One additional thing you did not note is that Prayer of Healing is not a 5-target limit. In theory, it is unlimited in the amount of targets it can affect so long as they are all in range and in the same group. This is important because it affects all pets and guardians in a specific group as well, which means further direct heal procs. To assume in this day and age that there would not be some DKs/Hunters/Warlocks with pets or Nibelung-clad casters is to greatly undervalue what this trinket can do for a holy priest.

It is also important to note that while Discipline is not the optimal spec for raid healing, any benefits Holy gets from PoH/PoM/Holy Nova/Divine Hymn are also benefits Discipline receives, with the exception, of course, of the reach of said spells due to Holy tree talents.

And, let's not forget that Divine Hymn is sitting there just in case. Even Holy Nova could come in handy if you're bunched up with your respective group.

I am glad to have checked out this thread. It gave me the opportunity to really look at people's thoughts on this sort of trinket and I'm really liking what I see. I'm not wild about /use effects, but this is certainly one that's not to be taken for granted.

Given that the buff this gives you on use causes your heals to leave a buff on the target which turns them into a healing radiance... Let's hope this is the prototype for the next version of Lightwell.

I'd much rather place a buff on a target that makes them a mobile healing radiance zone, than the current "on click" edition.

If the use effect procs from each jump of Chain Heal then I feel I will absolutely love this trinket on my shaman. In 25mans chain heal hits 4 targets, each gains the heal over time from the trinket + you can manage about 8 to 10 chain heals within those 15 seconds (judging from my own haste @1290 atm).
If you manage 9 chain heals within those 15 seconds and all 9 hit 4 targets that results in 36 HoTs. Would be wonderful, but I doubt they stack, most likely just refreshes the duration. Still a HoT on every raid member is awesome.
This trinket+ 4p T10 bonus + Earthliving + Trauma = shaman with incredible raid healing power.
I will absolutely need to get this when RS is released.

i don't think you're properly considering the math here.

this causes your heal target to heal *everyone within 10 yds* for 365/sec.

let's assume 10 melee, and that over the course of the trinket uptime you can proc this on every one of them (very simple to do)

since you have 10 people in range of each person, each person is contributing 3650 hp/sec to that group's healing.

since you have 10 people with the buff, total healing contribution 36500 hp/sec.

6 sec * 36500 hp/sec = 219,000 hp.

now, i know that 10 people stacked on top of each other is best-case scenario, but considering that i'm a shaman and can proc this buff at least *30* times, probably only refreshing itself partway through half that time, this is still a damned good trinket. & anyway, the point is that on certain fights, this trinket itself will easily break 50k hp/sec for those 15 sec.

& yes i know, 10yds is standard spread the $%^& out distance, but this mother%^&*er has some serious potential is all o.O'

Any Tree druid that thinks this trinket is useless for us is an idiot. At this level of gear, any tree worth his salt has enough haste to drop the cast time of nourish to below the GCD, and since this is a "USE" trinket, use it then spam nourish 13-15 times, every single person in the raid will get the hots from the trinket plus at least 6 people with have a seed of life on them which will give an extra 3-4k of healing the next time they get hit. Napkin math total healing total minimum 174,896. With this trinket I could top off the entire raid BY MYSELF.
