This is a tribute to Sylvanas Windrunner, Ranger General at the time where Arthas attacked Quel'Thalas. He killed her and enslaved her as a Banshee. Now she has broken free, and swears revenge, creating the Forsaken and joining the Horde. She wishes Arthas to feel what he did to her ten times over, thus suffer is inscribed ten times upon the blade.

I would say it's pretty safe to assume anyone who writes the word "SUFFER" a total of ten times on their weapon, in blood no less. While she certainly has some very good reasons, it doesn't say nothing too good about Sylvannas mental condition.

This is also perfectly itemized for Death Knights, at least tankwise. The slow 3.6 speed is the best we will get aside from Shadowmourne, the Agility grants armor, dodge, and additional crit, the stamina is obviously great, and it gives great threat stats, especially to a blood DK. Checking WoWhead's database, it's our Best in Slot over H-Glorenzelg by a short margin.

I will say that if you want a higher threat weapon, H-Glorenzelg would be a better choice. Speaking in terms of Survivability, this polearm is unmatched. I forsee Blood DKs and Ferals fighting relentlessly over it, with hunters shouting in the back how they also deserve it. And why I won't deny those are amazing hunter stats, especially for MM, Melee classes, in this case, 2 tanks, would take priority on melee weapons over hunters, since they would be more focused on their ranged slot.

...and might I add that Bloodfall is also amazingly itemized for hunters, provided you aren't haste capped. And even then, you could use it to change some of your haste gems/gear around. Comparing the two right now, it looks like Oathbinder is superior (Of course, it's a 284 vs 277), but only by a very small amount for MM, and an even smaller margin for Survival.

Now now. This weapon is great for hunters and ferals alike, and (apparently?) ret pallies (though I thought that they didn't really use armor pen). In any raid I have a say in in terms of loot, at least the first two (and the third if I discover why armor pen is useful for ret pallies) will have an equal opportunity to roll. My guess is that most people will be of a similar mindset. Granted, if you're a druid healing this stuff, don't whine cause you didn't get an offspec roll. =P

Since this weapon is in Arthas' possession, it's likely he grabbed it off Sylvanas' corpse and took it with him when he went to Northrend to merge with the Lich King.

Hence, the "suffer" inscription is very likely HIS doing, since I don't really see Sylvanas getting to his personal arsenal and engraving it herself. It's very likely his idea of a joke.

Oathbinder is also BiS for Unholy non-human(for which Glorenzelg is BiS) DK if not receiving Shadowmourne.

Yeah, this is the weapon of Sylvanas Windrunner, the Banshee Queen of the Horde. Now, the yellow text on the weapon doesn't really say something that glories the Horde more than the Alliance, but the Alliance has a weapon that really makes 'em shine more than the Horde.

I'm sorry if this is noob of me to not know this, but how would I go about linking this specific item (Heroic version, not the normal version) in chat? My current script is:

The problem is that clicking the link only brings up a box that says, "Retrieving item information" and it will continue to say that no matter how long you wait. I tested this same script with the normal Oathbinder's item ID, and it worked perfectly. Am I doing something wrong here? Any help on how to properly link this specific item in chat would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

EDIT: After a tiny bit of testing, it appears that this Heroic version of Oathbinder is currently not within the WoW database, or at least within my current client. I tested the script with other interesting items such as the Ashbringer and the Shirt of the Yogg-Slayer but the result was the same. Anyone able to confirm/disprove this?
