I can already see that this is going to be one of the most heavily debated and fought over trinkets in the game. Those stats are good for every single physical DPS class in the game, and I predict 150 comments of debate and name-calling.

One thing that people need to remember, though, is that an upgrade is an upgrade. All physical classes can use it, and it is significantly better than any other trinket avaliable, so please don't start whining when someone says "I can't wait to get it for my <class>".

Any word on what decides what proc you get?

I can see the ArP proc being a hassle for folks who would be pushed over the hardcap, and a warrior would vastly prefer the STR to the AGI.

yeah, a few questions still need to be answered.

so far, what is the internal cd is an obvious question. it's probably long since the effect lasts 30 seconds.

Also, how does the proc work? does it choose a random stat to increase (which would be situationally inconvenient. when's the last time anyone has ever seen, for example, a hunter using a shred of strength since hitting 80?) or is it like Death's Verdict where it increases your highest stat? (which wouldn't make a lot of sense since they nerfed armor pen). Or might there be a way to choose which effect to benefit from?

If it is random, being a hunter, this is not a very safe trink to lean on. and if that's the case, melee, have at it :p

Can anyone confirm the internal CD of this trinket? Seems as though the internal CD would be higher than 45 sec due to its 30 sec proc duration, but then again this is Icecrown so this trinket just may be THAT amazing.

Talking by a Warriors Point of view that has stacked ArP as much as possible passively, right now in my Arms Spec i have just about 100% Passive Armor Penetration with TotGC 25man gear mostly.

This trinket is insane for any mellee,the point is how is the proc based on because from what i heard of it's one out of three buff options and that is random.So ,for me personally, if the trinket procs me 700 crit or 700 Strength this would be a huge buff to my DPS but on the other hand if it procs me 700 ArP it's going to be a trinket proc wasted since i already have 100% ArP.

If someone has a link to a Blizzard post about how the proc works please feel free to say so :)

Kinda amazed nobody's posted this info on the heroic version yet, or people have voted it down...

Here's how it works:
-Buffs last for 30 seconds.
-90 second ICD (hence about a 30% uptime).
-One of only THREE of the buffs can occur for any given class. Therefore, the buff isn't dependent on any of your stats (like DMC: Greatness) or any other factors besides your class. The breakdown is as follows:

DK: Str, Haste, Crit
Druid: Str, Agi, ArP
Hunter: Agi, Crit, AP
Paladin: Str, Haste, Crit
Rogue: Agi, ArP, AP
Shaman: Agi, ArP, AP
Warrior: Str, Crit, ArP

Anyways, it's quite silly to have 100% passive you can get a 20% debuff from Acid Spit (exotic Hunter pet), Expose Armor, Sunder Armor. You've also got 10% extra coming from from Faerie Fire, Sting (Hunter pet), and Curse of Recklessness, giving a total of 30% theoretical armor pen debuff on the boss. It's really quite silly to have 100% armor pen

It is always better to have 100% ArP passive than to rely on procs (for physical dps classes). 100% passive means you will always ignore a target's armor ... instead of ignoring 50% most of the time, and 100% when a trinket procs or when someone else in the raid lowers the armor. For physical dps classes (ArP MM Hunters, Feral Druids, Rogues, Warriors), ArP is the best stat to buff point for point (after being hit capped/expertise capped) until you get to 1400 ArP.

Additionally, few hunters will raid as BM, and even fewer will use a worm in a raid (it nerfs their dps compared to other pets then can run with).

these are what i pulled from wowhead and from logs of the various proc's our DK got last night:

Agility of the Vrykul
600/700 agility
Speed of the Vrykul
600/700 haste

as per class: agility-based classes will get agility. strength-based classes will get haste, im assuming.

Power of the Taunka
1200/1400 attack power
Strength of the Taunka
600/700 strength

as per class: strength-based classes (by that i mean those that receive 2ap+ per point of strength) will get strength. classes that do not benefit from or receive 2ap+ per strength point will get attack power.

Aim of the Iron Dwarves
600/700 critical strike rating
Precision of the Iron Dwarves
600/700 armor penetration

as per class: classes that benefit largely from armor penetration will receive armor penetration (warrior/druid/rogue seems to be the case). classes that benefit more from critical strike rating will receive crit (hunter/paladin/shaman/death knight). EXCEPT for the DK, i haven't personally confirmed any of those previous classes, theyre just logical conclusions.

from the logs last night, i pulled haste of the vrykul, aim of the iron dwarves, and strength of the taunka as having been receieved by our death knight who won the trinket sunday.

i understand that each class is limited to one type of buff from each form change, but i dont like the idea of armor pen possibility as a feral druid. ill be stacking straight arp beyond the soft cap created by this trinket and the proc's value decreases with every additional point over the soft cap, even though armor pen will still be the best theoretical stat regardless. frustrating but i suppose itll only end up being 33.33% of the ~30% uptime it has anyway.

As of 3.3, here is a list of the trinkets for raiding Ret Paladins from best to worst according to current rawr modelling. Coming from a progression-focused ret, you should probably let Deathbringers will go to another class and continue praying for a DC/WS to drop.

another blessing or curse for pvp, like the other ToGC trinkets available, this one is miles ahead of pvp based rewards for trinkets

the passive is unreal, 167arp or 13.5%, thats double the banner of victory and for any class spec thats a huge boost in damage, which is most welcome with arena littered with high armor targets... and 700 to a stat (though random) is insane, especially since one of the procs is once again could be armor pen, meaning its also a possible replacement for the new needle encrusted scorpion... just too bad i hear it randomly picks between one of 3 rather than whichever stat you focus on like death's choice/verdict (so if you specifically want an ArP/STR/Agi proc then may want to keep your old trinks)

where its going to be a pain in pvp is the fact that it lasts 30sec, which is 3 times the typical duration for an equip proc but still better than ones that last only 10-15sec, even though it has a longer internal CD, thats a lot of uptime which makes it easier to utilize, technically you could be CC'ed or not attacking for quite a while and still have the proc up afterward

the only goofy thing is it transforms you into the associated race you got the buff from, not too bad with the taunka or iron dwarf, but gorloc, now thats going to be just priceless to be killed by something that is essentially a murloc-like thing that pukes on things as an attack lol

When you have a buff from this trinket as a druid, you keep the "costume" even when you use flight form. You'll move around with a comically fast animation especially if you have epic flying, swimming if you're in the air.

Pretty sure I'm never vendoring this trinket if they don't nerf this funny effect.

While under the effects of this trinket you will become shapeshfted and unable to mount.
30 Seconds is a long time to be unable to mount while soloing or in a PvP situation.

Use this macro to quickly cancel the trinket buffs and mount up.

as of 1/6/2010 now proc's haste This is a buff for some classes namely the casters and maybe blood dk's even though that is still a fairly useless stat for dk like last on the list, I was not happy with that at all because haste lowers 2h crit damage and the armor pen made this godly for blood spec and good for other dk's, since replaced with haste this will now still take a backseat to other higher armor pen procing trinkets for blood dps dk's go blizz........

No you can NOT have them both, you have seen people with 2 ToC trinkets because it was possible during that tier, it was an issue Blizzard decided to address with ICC content, and they changed it. You can NOT equip the normal and heroic versions of ICC trinkets at the same time people. Do not listen to the above post. Changes were made.

The trinket for some reason might be glitched on its procs on my warrior.
Taunka gives me 1200ap or 600 str on some procs
Vrykul gives 600 haste
and Iron dwarf only gives me so far 600 crit
i have not seen the arp proc and taunka gives me two variations of procs when i thought it would only be str. So far i find the 1200 ap proc happening more often

In terms of dps though this trink is very useful for most if not all melee classes. This trinket i do i see is probaly benefited most by arms and fury wars though because of the massive amount of arp it gives on equip and how much warriors love arp.

You can mount as a Taunka now, but you cannot use your jetpack on the Funship fight as a Taunka. I just found out the painful way. DBW macro ftw.

Just for kicks, be sure to /dance while in Taunka form.. The Peanut Butter Jelly Time song began playing in my head.
Also, /lol is the only vocal emote I've noticed for this form.

Currently, the Vrykul has no dance emote, or really any others.
The Iron Dwarf form is nothing new.
