According to the spell data, this has a 35% chance to proc. So it seems like it will be up quite often when it can proc (only once a minute). It may proc from your melee hits, or possibly from being hit, or both. +81 stamina is also extremely nice.

The description is a bit too vague. Does it require you to attack in melee? Or someone else? Maybe if there's melee combat within 30 yards it has a chance to proc?

If it's only for melee attackers it'd be a shame, though. Gun-ters would love this trinket if it procced for their ranged attacks.

From a hunter perspective...

430 AP @ 10sec is extremely nice. However, it's melee only. What do we do? :<

...one idea...

- Swiftness Potion/Rocket boots.

- Run to boss. ( PvE perspective )
- Hit 'em 3 or 4 times for proc.
- Disengage.
- Keep blasting for ~7-8 seconds. ( pun intended ).

It's wicked, manic, insane and totally far out, but hey, you're an engineer; You should have experience with the above. ^^

For being the DPS version of the engineering trinket, it seems to me to be pretty fail.

Regardless of the proc chance, if it had a 100% proc chance with its 1 min CD, this would be the equivalent of a static + 72 AP.

Unless I'm miscalculating, this trinket will do far less dps than the 41 Badge / Brewfest trinket.

( 430AP for 10 seconds & +0AP for 50 seconds. 430 / 6 = 71.6 )

So unless you are a tank in need of a stam / tps trinket, or in a HEAVY aoe bossfight, this trinket seems very lackluster to me as a dps.

Facts:

Procs only on melee attacks.
Procs on both atacks you do and attacks against you.
If you equip 2 of them, they will share the hidden cooldown.
Buff itself makes your character red for the duration.
Proc chance is very high, about 50%.
Cooldown is not displayed, but can easily be tracked with addon

If you read around, if you're raiding/instancing, or just near your pet, if you're within sound range of a meleeing target, (hear sound when your sound settings are on {note they do not have to be on}) then it should proc for you.

Hunters, this trinket is very usefull for pvp. You'll be in mele range in PvP or Arena 50% of the time, it can proc when u are in mele and then Disengage. And 81 Stamina ofc. XD

For a survival hunter with Hunter vs Wild this is 81 Sta plus 25AP.
The buff procs off scattershot so you can dismount on a mob, scattertrap (therefore proccing lock-n-load), and disengage. With frost trap (or snare effect on explosive trap) you can get the benefit of the buff on your 51 point talent x 3 plus 10 secs worth of shots. .

These two combined make it a situational/play-style useful trinket so I have been using a bit at 72.

This seems to me, once they change the stats for trinkets, a great tanking trinket. I'm making two right now since they are not unique. Judging from emmerald.net it would be the best tanking trinket in the game atm, granted new ones will come along. Being able to use this right now is worth it, and they cost nothing to make. The one thing that seems nice about the new stuff is that I don' consider them expensive to make, compared to leveling engin. in the past.

This item is not unique and you CAN equip 2 at the same time.
That means you can have 162 stamina from 2 very cheap trinkets.

I can't figure out what the benefit if any would be to the proc with 2 equipped. Seems to me this + shard of contempt which I have been using for a while will be better overall except when I need ashtongue trinket up while grinding. If it has the cooldown which will apply to the other one proccing then it seems you simply gain a boost to how quickly it will come up. Might near guarantee uptime each minute.

Amazing trinket for enhance shamans with Mental Quickness giving us 430 AP and 129 spell damage from each proc (nearly every fight while grinding). Ten seconds is easily enough time to get in a stormstrike, windfury proc, earth shock and instant cast lightning bolt with Maelstrom Weapon. This and Noise Machine are making it fun to be an engineer again.

So many people talking about using this for their rogue or hunter. It's a STAMINA trinket that's pretty much only useful for tanks or on particular fights where you need to have a lot of health. The proc is bonus, and you should NEVER use this trinket as a dps trinket.

1. It only has a chance to proc so it's difficult to time the proc with anything else like heroism.

2. It has a 1 minute cooldown, so even under the very best conditions (i.e. procs every single time), we're looking at less than 17% uptime. (10 seconds every 60 seconds)

3. If you take the attack power bonus and divide it by the uptime in the very best conditions, this trinket is worth about (430 * 16.67%) 72 attack power rounding up. That means that this quest reward from Howling Fjord that you can get at lvl 68 is much much better for dps. Heck, this green quest reward from burning crusade is a better dps trinket.

In short, if you are using this trinket as your dps trinket, you're wearing a big sign that says that you do not know how to play your class. This trinket is worth less than 72 attack power under ideal circumstances and by the time you reach Northrend, there are other trinkets that are easier to get that will benefit your dps more.

disagree, stamina don´t mean only tanking trinket. Stamina is also useful in PvP, every clas needs a lot of HP, hunters too, so this trinket may bu useful not only for tanks

This would be a great tank trinket for a Druid with the stamina modifiers in Bear Form and talented Heart of the Wild. If my math is correct this will give 117.45 stamina for each of these trinkets resulting in 1174 health and 2348 health if you wear two of them. Not to bad IMO.

Unfortunately, they raised the required level for GM engineering, so level 60 twinks can no longer get these...However, if you already HAD the skill (and obviously this) prior to patch 3.1.1, you CAN still use them. I unfortunately missed this by A DAY...I got tired of grinding engineering at 340 so decided to call it a day, and the next day, they patched it.

If you do not have a toon funding your engineering, by the time you make this trinket, there are plenty better ones. However if you are like me powerlvling engineering, it can be pretty OP if you can get it right away at lvl 68. It also has a good amount of stamina, which helps with soloing group quests.

DPS wise, this was a replacement for https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=28041 which obviously an improvement.

This along with https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/spell=56469 what is also craftable and equipable at lvl 68, and the lvl 72 goggles will ensure you topping dps charts pre80

If you have 2 equiped and you are a dual wield spec (rogue for example) it actually gets 4 chances to proc per attack (1 for each weapon and done twice for 2 trinkets) - excluding attacks done TO you. In other words, expect the 1ppm to occur within the first few seconds of the window.
