No rogue should be using this as an offhand. Faster offhand for a rogue is better for proccing Poisons and Combat Potency. This is definetly a shaman weapon as they want slow offhand/mainhand as possible for harder WF procs. Warriors shouldnt be worried about this as they can dualwield twohanded weapons in WotLK (Titans Grip).

Formidable enhancement shaman offhand for those who cannot get The Stray from Naxx. Tons of hit rating and a decent amount of attack power make this weapon good, but the slightly fast speed is a downside. Looks like Blizzard intends to continue the trend of making badge loot the same ilevel as raid gear, but itemized in a sub-optimal way to be sure that it is less attractive and useful.

Blizzard seems to be continuing the trend of matching Fist weapons with compatible names. With this one: Pride and Greed as stated by Ireze above.

Some may remember: Fury & Rage from Zul'Aman, as well in this trend. Here to hoping Blizzard keeps with a good naming convention with these items.

Courage & Glory, Law & Order matching weapons anyone? :D

As others noted, weapon speed on he off hand is no longer a large issue for shaman.

Slow OH's will give more damage from Stormstrike and Lava Lash.

Fast weapons will giver more damage from spell power for Flametongue. A fast weapon will also charge up malestorm weapon faster, allowing instant lightning bolts.

I believe slow may still be optimal, but it is by a very small margin. Nowhere near as big of difference as slow v. fast back in the old WF/WF days.

I tested a 111 dps slow offhand vs the naxx dagger (146 dps) 1.40 speed. And even when the slower offhand had significant lower dps it beat the dagger by far in overall dps.

i recently noticed while looking at this on my druid that the "off hand" part wasn't red... I'm wondering if druids are able to dw fist weps... if so i would get this set just for fun... and maybe some killer dps as of patch 3.0.8, anyone?

In 3.1 will this be better for me than https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=40264 as an enhancement shaman? It's a big drop in weapon dps but I've heard flametongue is getting nerfed for fast weapons. So it's got less dps, but better top end damage for SS and lava lash hits.
