Surprising not to see any comments on this, I would definitely put it among the highest choices for a class with weak tier set legs - as a Balance druid whose tier legs are one of the "mis-itemized" pieces (wasted points on Spirit rather than a dps stat) this is the type of item I'd be looking for as an off set piece to wear with 4 pieces of tier 7. In fact I would rate them second among all existing off set pieces behind https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=40560.

Warlocks and mages have much better itemized tier 7 leggings and worse robes/helm, so they would be better off passing these legs to a moonkin, keeping the tier leggings and bidding for https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=40562, https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=40526 or https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=40339 instead.

Atrophy is the partial or complete wasting away of a part of the body, so I suppose wearing this means your barely/not using your legs.

As a FFB mage with a large selection of pants.... 7.0, 7.5, atrophy
I keep my 7.5 pants in slot because FFB gets enough crit as is

These ARE the best in slot for a Frostfire mage. Gothik's is the best helm, but you are best off wearing the T7.5 helm (since it DOES have crit) and subbing these in for the T7.5 legs. That way you maintain 4 piece bonus, and crit on helm and legs.

Part of a 5-piece matching non-set obtainable in Heroic Naxxramas (Naxx25). The look is one of several non-sets with the same style in Naxxramas and several Heroics, however, this red non-set with gray metal outlining and orange highlights seems to be geared more towards direct damage (DD) spellcasting DPS. Like any actualy Tier set, these non-sets consist of head, chest, leg, hand, and shoulder pieces.
