Although unrelated in mechanics (tank/resistance vs. melee dps) the name of this trinket is a play on Loatheb's Reflection, a trinket that was dropped in the old naxxramas by the same boss.

The old one is 'about' reflection and this one is 'about' shadow, so both are about light, to some degree.

Useless "Use:"-Trinket is useless.

I do not understand why Blizzard keeps on implementing "Use:"-Trinkets into Raid Loottables.
They can never ever keep up with "Chance on Hit" Trinkets due to having not nearly as much uptime. They could only do that by having greatly increased effect during their uptime, which can not be done without making them OP in PvP-burst Scenarios.

Trinkets of this type should be kept out of Raids as they are far from optimum, for example the Mirror of Truth, a Trinket of the same Level not only has a far lower Cooldown (45 seconds compared to the 120 seconds this has), but also offers 50% more AP during the already higher uptime.

"Use:"-Trinkets should be rewarded for PvP or Heroic Badges to make them available for the people who need them for burst and keep them from being constantly disenchanted in Raids, cause they seriously suck in terms of steady DPS.

The Use-effect equals 111 AP, if used every time it comes off cooldown.

20/120*670 = 111,666...

It turns out to be much worse in raid encounters than Mirror of Truth. The proc effect of that trinket has 45 second internal cooldown and 10% proc chance, which can be rounded to about 60 seconds overall, depending on one's crit chance.

10/60*1000 = 166,666...

Moreover, the uptime of Mirror of Truth can be even better than that..

As said when used every time this is up it provides a 111AP Buff in total, + the relatively large amount of static crit. Although it's definetely not the best trinket you're going to pick up in Naxx, this provided a solid replacement over the Mighty Alchemist's Stone for me. The extra crit, but also having control over when you recieve the AP Buff (Something that the Mirror lacks) is especially helpful, ensuring that Rupture's go off with maximum damage.

Just got this today, and I'm not sure if I should switch out Meteorite Whetstone for it... Is the 444 haste chance on hit worth losing for 670 AP every two minutes and some crit? (about .25% crit upgrade to be exact)
