I don't think that 856 mana instead of 880 mana is epic.

So basicly 880 mana per Holy Light at the maximum level and it removes 24 mana per heal...

So 880 / 24 = ~36 heals

So every 36 heals you get enough mana for 1 more heal...and since this is a Paladin libram and if you are a healing paladin you already get enough mana in return due to crits....So as Kugai said...doesn't feel quite epic.

Mana reduction relics are by and large unexciting. I'm sure some of them are good and bad, as math tends to work out a certain way.

However this one is unique, in that if it does not reduce the base cost, an illumination return would net you an effective increase in mana - Not just a free heal, but actually more mana back. That would make it very good, but I don't know if it works like that, so more information is needed.

The real beauty of this libram only comes into play when you combine it with 4 piece Crystalforge, which is -0.25 seconds on Holy Light's cast time. The cast time, with Light's Grace, drops to 1.75 seconds (only 0.25 seconds slower than Flash of Light.)

Rank 4 Holy Light, for example, (with Blessing of Light) hits for ~1800 (with ~1700 healing), and Rank 9 Flash of Light hits for ~1650 (same +healing). When you use this Libram, the mana cost drops from 190 to 163 (which is 17 less than FoL R9). That, combined with the increased healing (150 hp per heal) allows you to swap from spamming FoL full time to using Holy Light 4, with the additional bonus of Sanctified Light now increasing the crit % of your main heal.

It's extremely gear dependant (ideally you'd wear Gloves/Legs/Helm/Shoulders of the Crystalforge set) but mathematically it's really quite good.

This libram is vry good in longe arena fights.. Like ur oom .. and u can spam heal FoL rank 1 without loosing any mana at all ... with my arena gear that is based on stamina and resiliece and only have +1400 healing & 27% spellcrit with that gear.. i heal about 600 and crits 800 .... nice to never ever go dry for mana when u need it.

1 spell crit equals 0,6% Mana cost reduction for Paladins(Critting 1 spell every 100 casts will give u 60% Mana cost of that spell back, 60/100=0,6%)

Max rank Holy Light costs 840 Mana. 840*0,994=834,96
840-834,96=5.04. Every spell crit reduced Mana cost of max rank holy light by 5,04.

27/5,04=5,357 or roughly 5,4%. So this libram equals 5,4% crit chance for max rank Holy Light in Mana reduction.

Correct me if my calculations are wrong.

Perhaps this change is coming because BT/Hyjal paladins were running Karazhan for a libram instead of SSC.

The buff to this Libram is massive! Spamming Holy Light, this Libram would equal 210 mp5 - kinda makes Libram of Mending (22 mp5) look like a joke...

With the correct gear setup, spamming HL Rank 5 nonstop should not be a problem, even Rank 6 might be doable. Pretty insane.

I have been using this libram and others with various Libram-swapping macros. The buff will allow me to use Holy light even more aggressively than before.

In my opinion. This is the best libram for any BT/Hyjal/Sunwell paladin to have when 2.4 comes out. 84 mana saved per spell cast is 10% of rank11 holy light. And when downranking, the libram is still the flat 84mana. It makes me really happy to have picked this up while running SSC.

I say its better for BT/Hyjal/Sunwell paladins because we have to use holy light way more in the higher end instances. Plus i already have 2300 healing, so saving mana is more important to me than +healing. ;)

your healing spells have 15% chance to heal your target by 10% of the healed amount over 10sec.

This is meant for lower rank heals when you have a lot of +healing gear on. Obviously if you are a spell crit holydin, then this libram is not for you.

think of it in terms of equivalent mana per 5
1 HL every 5 seconds = 24 mp/5
2 = 48 mp/5
and the max of 2.5 = 60 mp/5

ask a priest you know if he'd wear a wand with 60 mp/5

as well, Illumination refunds the base cost of the spell, meaning any crit you get with this gives you +24 mana

Why not be more useful like reducing mana cost by something more substantial? When Holy Light costs 840 mana at level 70, 24 mana is only %2.57 reduction. Libram of Absolute Crap in my opinion. How about reducing mana cost of healing spells by %10?

Healerdine spamming holy light will do 2-2.5 casts per 5 sec (2.5 casts if talented). Therefore this libram is equivalent to 48-60 mp5 while spamming HL. That is quite nice imho and I would go for it over all other librams available.

Spamming holy light isn't that bad and mana consuming if you take into account that healerdin in heroic/kara gear has about 15-18% spell crit chanse raid buffed, plus 5% crit for holy spells talented and plus extra 6% for Holy Light talented. With moonkin aura or elemental shammy totems it will be even more crit, that means mana free heal. Basicly each 3rd HL is critted and mana is returned. If you add BoW, mp5 from items/totems/consumables and items like this libram then basicly one can spam holy light for several minutes non stop.

During bossfights and harder heroic instances, I can't imagine not spamming/using Holy Light (I almost never use Flash of Light...). This would be a nice Libram for me :)

Edit:Upgrades from 24 to 27 mana cost reduce in 2.1

Think of an encounter where you cast Holy Light every 10 seconds it would save you 162 Mana per minute which is equal to 13,5 mp5s,quite valuable in the upcoming manacrisis.

Keep in mind this libram is even MORE effective when down-ranking heals when you look at amount healed per mana. For example, say it takes 2 heals of a lower rank to heal as much as rank 11; that's 52 mana saved.

This libram seem kind of decent for the one's who go a HL build purely built on downranking. But due to recent change on Lower ranks of heals,this makes this Libram less worth it.

But as far as i can see,any Healing paladin who has a HL build with some stacked Haste and down ranking,this is defenitly worth it.

All tho i my self,as a Flash of Light build Paladin,would never take it. I would rather take Libram of Mending in case i'd consider a HL build,due to the extra Mp5 on dropping Rank 1 Holy lights. :)
