I'm not sure how this trinket works. Two periods of 20 seconds are mentioned in the description. But it's not quite clear when they occur. Do the effects happen at the same time? If yes, the trinket would be fairly lousy. But I think, the effects occur one after another. So at first, you have 20 seconds to cast as many spells as possible. After that, you gain a bonus effect lasting over 20 seconds, granting you mana fourteen times the number of spells you cast during the previous 20 seconds. Could be a nice gimmick in certain cases (Arcane explosions, low-level Shadow Word:Pain, Mind Flay or warlocks spamming curses during pvp).

The way I read it, for as long as its active (20 seconds), each successful spellcast will grant you a stacking buff that gives you 14 mana / 5 seconds per stack. The buff itself lasts 20 seconds.

So if you fire this up and only cast one spell right at the start, you'll have 14 mana / 5 seconds for 20 seconds right after activating the trinket. But if you cast say 5 spells within the 20 seconds the trinket is active, you'll build up to 70 mana / 5 seconds right before the trinket expires, and you'll benefit from that mana regen for another 20 seconds (during those 20 seconds you'd regen 280 mana).

Depending on how this trinket works we're looking at some pretty substantial regen, as you could theoretically max out at one spell per global cooldown leaving you with 13 stacks or 182 mana / 5 seconds when the trinket expires, which will regenerate 728 mana over the 20 seconds the buff is active, plus whatever mana you regenerate while building up the buff. Keep in mind though that you're spending mana to regenerate it.

Also make note that the cooldown is 2 minutes, meaning you'll get to use it more than once in most boss fights.

I got this thing hoping that I would find some use for it and that it would actually be good but it really sucks.

The buff fades immediately after 20 seconds so if you stack it 13 times you wont get enough ticks from the stacks for it to be any benefit. I didn't regen nearly enough to make this thing worthwhile since it is a 2 minute cooldown. Maybe if it was on 1 minute it would be slightly interesting. I hope that it isn't intended to fade right away after 20 seconds.

The way it should works to make this thing good is to have the stacking buff stay on for an additional 10-20 seconds so that you'd actually get some ticks from the stacking buffs, otherwise this thing is crap.

you're only going to get 4 ticks of mana regen. if i were do use this, i would spam ice lance for 20 seconds to get the maximum. i can get about 13 casts in 20 seconds.

first tick:

3 casts off - 42 mana first tick
4 casts off - 98 mana second tick
3 casts off - 140 mana third tick
3 casts off - 182 mana fourth tick

total of 462 mana on top of my normal mp/5. if it's only a 2 minute cooldown this could be a nice trinket. don't even think about casting anything other than instant cast spells while this is proc'ing though.

As a raiding 70 paladin, this trinket looked quite impressive at first. However after some "theorycraft" it now seems lackluster.

Suppose you are attempting to gain the maximum mana return from this trinket. You are using the Rank-1 "Flash of Light" spell. Accounting for lag or user delay, the average casting time is increased from 1.5s to 2.0s.

Spellcasts finish at timepoints: 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20 sec
MP5 ticks occur at timepoints: 5,10,15,20 sec

interval : two FoL are cast, therefore +MP5=28
interval (5,10]: three FoL are cast, therefore +MP5=70
interval (10,15]: two FoL are cast, therefore +MP5=98
interval (15,20]: three FoL are cast, therefore +MP5=140

Total mana accumulated from these +MP5 ticks=336 mana
Total mana spent on 10x FoL = 10x35 = 350 mana.

Therefore, in this most efficient scenario you are regenning an amount of mana almost as much as spent. Of course this neglects mana refund spell-crit rates from the "Illumination" talent by which for a 20% spellcrit rate you would recover an additional 70 mana (but that is independent of this trinket so not included above).

Do others think this trinket is deserving of a trinket slot on your character, while there are still other options obtainable from 5mans?

I got this trinket earlier from Aran and went to give it a try. I suggest equipping lower city prayer book as a trinket next to it. Start casting a rank1 healing spell and use both trinkets at once to maximize mana efficiency, I was able to regen 700 mana in the span of 20seconds using Rank1 Healing Wave on my resto shaman. Not bad, but could be better, needs buffs.

Better yet, a elemental shaman with rank1 lightning bolt and the trinket to have the mana cost of lightning bolt/chain lightning to lower mana cost by 15. That would also make it more efficient.

After giving this some thought, perhaps this trinket is more for DPS classes. The reasoning behind this is: healers should, more often than not, be casting judiciously rather than spamming heals all the time (with some exceptions, depending on situation) for various reasons. As one above commenter said, you may be so eager to stack the buff that you end up burning more mana than you might regen in the end.

(Of course, this then calls the Lower City Prayerbook's use into slight question, given that it only saves mana on spells that you cast within its duration. On the other hand, it is a one minute cooldown, while this is on double that amount. Also, not casting while it is up means that you save the mana for that spell altogether, while not casting while this thing is up means you save the mana but also miss out on the regen--more of a conflict in motivation.)

I think the best class for this item is a shadow priest, with 5 main nukes being, swp(instant), SWD(instant), VT (1.5s), MB (1.5s) and Flay (which is 3 sec channeled)

But even then it is terrible.... it should have additional stats +this on use to be viable in any situation.

As of 4/26/07, the trinket proc's off of wand shots. If ur a mage priest or warlock with this trinket, use it and shot ur wand and it will proc. Also if u have a paladin in your group, ask them to throw up a judgement of wisdom for more mana :)

As a paladin this item regens alot of mana while flash heal spamming, since the flash heal only costs around 200 mana and heals way over 1k with my gear its a pretty efficent way to heal as a pala :)

Flash of light (1.5 sec cast) spam:

3 spells = 21 x 3 = 63. ticks 4 times = 252 mana (4.5 seconds to cast 3)
3 spells = 21 x 3 = 63. ticks 3 times = 189 mana (9 seconds after next 3)
4 spells = 21 x 3 = 63. ticks 2 times = 126 mana (15 seconds after next 4)
3 spells = 21 x 3 = 63. ticks 1 times = 63 mana (19.5 seconds after next 3)

total regenned = 63 + 126 + 189 + 252 = 630 mana

630 mana / 24 (24 ticks of 5 seconds in 2 minute) = 26.5 mana / 5 seconds

(with no lag whatsoever and no tolerance of gaps between spell casts.)

As you can see, it is far greater than shard of the scale - especially when you factor in the +40 intellect that grants impressive spell crit.

For balance druids, the +40 int on the post-2.1 trinket is pretty nice. With the balance talents +40 int is +10 damage, +4 mana/5 when casting, and +0.50% crit. Not to mention +600 mana. All the time, regardless of using the trinket or not. Rawr!

No need to trigger it with a 1.5sec spell becouz any instant cast i.e. priest renew rank 1 (cost:27mana) does quite well.
But there is a major question. While triggering the trinket you stay the whole time in the 5sec rule!!! and if you just wait 20sec (without any action) may you reg more mana as playing the stupid triggergame right? xD

I love this thing. It works wonders for all fights. Durring Gruul I pop it before reverberation or ground slam. 3 lifeblooms and a rejuve for the tank/ot then let it tick while the rest of the raid blows me up.

Though as a druid it just slows your mana consumption. Its never going to make you "regenerate" your mana when your actively healing. Your going to be healing with it it active but instead now you spend 600 on a heal and get 150 of it back. Each time you cast you are spending more but getting more back. It would be awsome if it stopped stacking but lasted another 2 or 3 ticks after the duration.

What I do is pop the trinket then cast seal of righteousness (rank 1) - 20 mana

Spam that and watch your mana go up!

Okay, see my math:

21 mp5 = 4.2 mp1
(let's assume so to get an expected value of this calculation, although mp5 is not really working like this)

Case 1: Assume you are using 1.5 sec cast spells:

1st stack will be 1.5 seconds after you use this trinket, so the duration is 18.5 seconds.
2nd stack will last 17 seconds.
3rd: 15.5 sec
...
13th: 0.5sec
Expired.

Now the total seconds of a single buff will be:
18.5+17+15.5+...+0.5 = (18.5+0.5)*13/2 = 123.5 seconds
expected mana return = 4.2 mp1*123.5 seconds = 518.7 mana

Case 2: Assume you are using instant cast spells (i.e. Renew):

1st stack will now last 20 seconds(assume you did it without any delay)
2nd stack: 18.5 sec
3rd: 17 sec
...
14th: 0.5 sec
Expired.

Now, what we get?
20+18.5+17+...+0.5 = (20+0.5)*14/2 = 143.5 seconds
expected mana return =4.2 mp1*143.5 seconds = 602.7 mana..

any holypriest with 450-500 spirit returns about 1700 mana within 20 sec doing nothing!
stacking this trinket like hell returns 600 mana + normal infight reg about 600 mana
the only reason to wear this trinket is the +40 Intellect

As of 2.1.1 this trinket procs on totems (again?). As a shaman, I love this trinket for most fights, but on static positioning fights the mana regen is amazing. Totems last 2 minutes, this has 2 min CD. Automatically getting 4 stacks for mana you have to spend every 2 minutes anyway makes this trinket worth a slot for me.

40 int doesn't hurt either.

I picked this up on my paladin and it's a fantastic trinket for him. The 40 intellect really boosts spell crit rating/mana, and the Use: is especially nifty for endurance fights when everyone's mana is running lower. The math is daunting but the truth is, this item has helped me in long fights considerably.

I think I might have a simpler way to see just what this trinket does...

Every spell you cast procs a 21 MP5 buff for 20 seconds. Another way to look at it is that for the duration, all your spells become 84 mana cheaper.

ok listen up peeps resto druid and i think this is great for me

now i havent got into the maths to a great deal but 10 rank 1 healing touches = 220 mana cost and trinket means 210 mp5 this would take me up to 500+ mp5 this would take only 10 seconds to cast so if i had used innervate at the start of the trinket i would have 2000 mps in other words 4k mana back in 10 seconds and rise's the more i cast healing touch rank 1 realy the full duration of this trinket and innervate i could get 8k mana back or more !! ...ok so i did get in to the maths a great deal..

oh and if i had raid buffs i get even more mp5 like 375 so lets say if i had 10k+ mana i could get all that backin one innervate

also can some one tell me if life bloom procs this if so wow.. i could still heal and get all that mana back

oh and little advice to get the max out of this trinket use "Lower city prayerbook " 1 min cooldown and 22 mana reduced cost each heal my healing touch rank 1 uses 2 mana !!! this means i can get my mana back to full for no cost.

I just got this trinket, and honestly, you can expect about 201 to 293 mana generated over the course of activation, assuming that you cast 3 to 5 quick spells as soon as you activated it.

I think that if perhaps the duration was slightly longer, or if the stacking effects had a renewed 20 second duration on each casting (meaning that, the final time time you cast while under the effects of the trinket, you would then have 20 seconds of increased MP5) that would make this trinket much more pleasing to us healers.

Honestly, it's great for the +40 Int bonus, just active it every two minutes, and cast spells as normal. More mana from any source is good.

Ahh, skip you silly healers, this is for my arcane mage! Once Arcane Blast is all cranked up, it's a 1.5s cast and burning mana like a fiend. That int is my spell crit, spell damage, and all-important mana pool... And the /use is just a little bonus regen from time to time.

Not that I'd keep it from a healer, but I'd at least want a fair roll. :)

This definitely has some value for a holy spec priest. Just make a macro to pop it every time I hit Circle of Healing. I usually spam that 4-5 times when a group/groups get low anyways. It would be a great way to take the edge off of that mana useage.

btw the real use of this trinket as a pally is to activate it and spam level1 fol when you don't need to heal, and regular fol when you do need to throw out a heal,

I just got this trinket on my druid and I am not satisfied!

There is a timer on how often you get mp5 while casting. I think the tick is every 2 seconds from what i've noticed..Maybe 2.5sec.

But now..When i activate this trinket and start spamming lifebloom all over the place without stopping this trinket resets my MP5 timer, So i end up wasting more mana when i activate it. Since it resets Mp5 timer my normal mp5 don't apply..Really sad..

I can confirm that this trinket is in fact very valuable for moonkins. 40 intellect is very helpful (600 mana, ~.5% crit, 10 spell damage, and 4 mp5). Additionally, it helps to conserve mana in boss fights, which we all know is helpful. And you can quadruple the "use" effect if you toss up an innervate right after activating the trinket. Yes, that means you can spam wrath and still end up with a significant amount more mana than you started with. It is so good that I often forgo a damage trinket to slap this puppy on.

I just got this last night on my Resto Druid, and fell in love with it shortly thereafter. Since I'm more or less constantly casting instant heals (typically refreshing Lifeblooms or restacking them, which is low mana cost as is) I can realistically get 7-8 stacks before the duration expires. With only a 2min cooldown this puppy acts as a mini-innervate.

I tested it out of raid, just stacking Lifebloom repeatedly on myself. Without the trinket I should have easily used over 2500 mana, but after all was said and done, I had only used a little under 1000.

The +40 Int was a nice boost to my mana pool as well. :]

As a Paladin, I have this trinket macroed with Divine Illumination, since in return, I'll gain double the mana back of what I'd normally get without using Divine Illumination but using the Pendant.

i could be wrong on this but as a tankadin this could come in handy...the way i see it pally tanks cn use all the mana regen possible...with that said in the mist of an ongoing battle while your healers heal you n you gain mana back...it doesn't seem to be enough. you pop this trinket, everytime you use concentration or holy shield etc...you'll get yourself lasting longer on mana...although you might disagree as it can take up a trinket spot for somethin necessary in your stats. if thats the case get what u need, but if you are gettin annoyed with your mana troubles should you pick this up?

Keep an eye on this trinket for 2.4 as when the intellect regen changes go live, this might fair better than the previous favorites for a restoration druid over Bangle or the Darkmoon Card.

I've had this on my Moonkin for a few weeks. While the +40 int is extremely handy, the on-use effect doesn't feel like it's making much difference. The problem being that if I'm casting IS (or MF), SFx4, it doesn't stack up very high, and switching to wrath spam chews more mana than I would gain.

So although I equip it for short fights and trash, I rarely bother activating it, and I switch it out for an Alchemist's Stone on any fight where mana might be a problem.

My advice: if you want it for the +40int, get it. But the on-use effect is really nothing special.

As of patch 2.4.1 this procs on the shaman spell Totemic Call as long as you receive mana from it. So basically when refreshing totems eveyr two minutes pop this trinket, Totemic Call, and drop your 4 totems of choice and you would have 5 stacks of the buff right away.

This trinket is very useful for Arcane Mages in a long boss fight.

1/ It give +40 int, which means more mana and more +dmg with the arcane talents. Even more with the Ember Meta Gem +2% int (= 49 int).

2/ it is very easy to get the buff - just 3x Arcane Missles as the trinket proc's on each missle hit (= 15 stacks in 15 sec with haste rating). Be sure to use Mage Armor (who doesn't ?) to keep up mp5 during casts.

3/ Use especially when you have the AB debuff and are chaining with Arcane Power - it basically gives you the power of the debuff without the mana cost.

Thus a suggested rotation when you have activated this trinket: AM, AM, AM, AB AB AB Arcane Power, (other trinket), AB nuke till Arcane Power is off, then scorch or frost bolt to restore a bit of mana (my mp5 during casting is around 250, but with totems, etc. I actually gain mana with frostbolt casting), then restart when trinket is off cool down.

In all, and enormously useful trinket for an Arcane Mage - worth the dpk! Able to last the whole fight with Al'ar (Tempest Keep boss) by using this trinket and spamming Arcane Missles without a single potion or gem (just time the buff so that you have it while running to next platform), something which was enormously mana expensive (potions = $$$) before is now quite easy.

Good luck in any case - don't feel guilty if you outbid the healer in dpk for this trinket - it will mean he has less to heal as the boss will go down much faster since you are never oom :).

I have seen a Blue Post on wowforums saying they are looking into it.
After doing some testing of my own here is what I found.

Doesn't work with:

Any Paladin Healing Spell (Holy Light, Flash of Light, Holy Shock)

Works with:

Any and all Blessings / Seals / Judgements
Hammer of Justice / Hammer of Wrath
Holy Shock (Offensive DMG only)
Consecration
All offensive spells

Haven't tested

Prot Paladin only abilities (Holy Shield, Avenger's Shield)
Ret Paladin only abilities (Repetence, Crusader Strike)
Auras (although they shouldn't work)

Inconclusion:
This item is not working as intended. Talking with other classes with this item and it works fine. Paladin heals do not proc. However, wanding and fishing casts have been documented as procing, which goes against the tooltip of the item itself for those to not require mana to cast. This item, which I thought was a great find will stay shelved in my bank until it gets fixed. Until then.

As of 2.4.2 this trinkets On Use: will not proc Enlightenment for a Paladins Flash of Light or Holy Light.

The GM I spoke to said:

Indeed, there is an issue with this trinket and the Paladin spells. Our teams are working to get this corrected.
I apologize for the inconvenience. The changes will be posted on the webpage and any new patch notes that come out .

So for right now, Holy Paladins may want to consider whether or not +40 intellect is worth taking up a trinket position.

Probably a stupid question... but maybe not...

Anyone ever try this out on a hunter.. I know hunters don't cast spells but not sure if it proc'd off mana use or an actual spell. If so this should be considered a decent arena trinket for a Marksmanship Hunter. I run across them all the time in arena on my druid and the matches get substancially easier to heal after a minute or two when the hunter is oom.

Assuming maxed Combat Expertise, Careful Aim, and Master Marksman:

With aspect of the viper its a static 40*(1.06)*55%=23.32 mp5 when the hunter is oom.. It is also a constant boost in RAP of 40*1.06*45%*110%= 21.

Would be a substantial loss in AP from other trinkets but provides an exceptional mana pool and regen.

That all being said I'd rather have it on my druid and go dreamstate. :( but alas its fate for who it drops for and if I have to pass on the roll.

I don't know where your getting these numbers from, but i've manged to get alot of mana from using this trinket and I've can confirm the max stack is x 20. I on an average get it to, 12 to 16 stacks, and gain around 750 to 1100 mana from this trinket just doing the stacks with Arcane Missiles. I would use it cast Arcane missiles costing around 600mana, something like that and by the time a did all 5 missiles, i'd have gained all the mana back. So it's like a free cast, then doing Missiles again, gains me even more.

Is anyone else experiencing a problem with it not working on paladin healing spells? It works on all my seals and other spells, but is not stacking the buff on my healing spells. I just noticed this today and cannot tie it back to any specific patch that might have caused it.

Probably pretty good for Resto Druids if you just play the Lifebloom spamming game every GCD. After about 8 stacks you'll be regenerating more than the (ToL-reduced) cost of Lifebloom from the MP5 of this Trinket alone. If you use this trinket with an LC Prayerbook you might actually gain a fair bit of mana during that time.

I am a holy pally and I fell in love with this trinket after the patch (when it started working for flash of light and holy light)

If you have a rank 1 FoL bound you can spam it while the buff is up and toss in some higher rank FoL's if you need to do some healing. That's pretty nifty, and in addition, it provides 600 mana, some crit, and 14 healing/damage to a holydin.

I use this on my Elemental Shaman and while I don't find it particularly useful for short fights I find it very useful in longer raid boss fights. I use it right before dropping my totems then spam Lightning Bolt (which I would do anyways) and usually get 12 stacks from it. In a fight that's 6+ minutes of non-stop lightning-throwing and only water sheild to replace that mana I like having some extra mana-regen available

Has never proc'd with resto shaman healz. Every healing spell has never proc'd this trinket. Complete waste to have as a resto shaman.

I received it 1 week ago to replace a green i had, the only reason i have no d/e'd it was because it has 40 intel on it.

Don't expect this to replenish your mana back to full.
From my experience it is best used to help cushion your mana pool during mana instense fights which require an increased in amount of casts (spamming).

I have this on my Paladin and Priest for healing through spiky damage which in most cases will leave a big dent on my mana pool. It is a great way to increase the longevity of any healers mana pool.

This trinket is a "When the %^&* hits the fan" trinket...

I am a holy priest and have this for those occasions when the whole group needs massive heals...use this in conjunction with another +heals trinket pop them both when all looks grim and spam CoH and hopefully you pull your party through a rough patch....the mana regen is there simply for you to gain some back after spam heal through a rough patch so you can continue healing the tank until the fight is over...

this is absolutly THE best trinket availble to arcane mages....

now that there is missle barrage.... its not normal how many procs you can get....

restores exactly 750 mana if used while spamming arcane missles without talents , about 900 mana per cast if you start with arcane missles buffed with missle barrage and are unlucky, to about 1550 mana if your really lucky (proc missle barrage everytime you cast arcane barrage)

the 40 int is just icing on the cake.

serieusly.... in conjucting with the mana restore meta gem, conjured mana gem evocation and mage armor.... even without any spirit gear you will never reach oom again.... really, really good trinket.

the maximum nr of stacks it can have is 20, thus making this a bit less usefull than i stated :) (for the 1550 max mana to recover the trinket should at least be able to stack 30 times)

I am a resto druid and I find that the best use for the trinket is using it everytime it is up while continuing to spam HoTs in Tree Form. I timed it out once, normally the heals I casted would have cost about 10% of my mana, even with normal Mp5, but with this active I had only spent 2%. Also, this was during the curator fight and I was making sure the group stayed up.

I don't know what they did to this trinket, but it's no longer proccing Mp5 charges when I activate it. If it does, it's only 1 or 2 charges. =/

This would be a awsome trinket for a boomkin. Int is the primary stat for boomkin it does all the normal stuff Int does for DPS casters + adds to bonus spell damage, and mana regen, even while casting. Insect swarm/ moonfire are instant cast no CD, wrath is 1.5 sec cast(1 sec cast with nature's grace in effect.)(rank 1 wrath is 1sec cast after talents, and 0.5 sec cast with natures's grace...furthermore if you had that meta gem that reduces cast speed by half would make the spell instant cast) PvE Boomkin have 2 big problems though 1. is threat generation ..they pull alot if they don't have some points in subtlety talent, and 2.mana efficency... the rate they use mana is insane. Even with moonglow, dreamstate, and intensity talents working for em they still burn mana rather quickly. anything that helps mana for them is a very good thing.

First to clear up some misunderstandings:
The buff this one gives lasts 20 secs from activating the trinket, not 2 mins.
Changing aura costs no mana, so it wont activate a the buff from this trinket.

Been doing some math on this one from a priests point of view:

Optimal use of the trinket
sec 1 Activate the trinket
sec 2-4 Cast 3
sec 5 Tick for 63 mana +cast 1 SW:p
sec 6 Cast one more SW:p
sec 10 Tick for 105 mana
Sec 15 Tick for 105 mana
Sec 20 Tick for 105 mana
Subtotal: 378 gained 125 used
Total: 253 mana gained.

250 mana...thats ½ flashheal -.- and it took 6 secs where you could have been healing.

This trinket should be had if you desperately need the +40 int. The use bonus is not even worth activating.

Ive had it for a week, testing it to find its strengths, and this will forever be a Void Crystal when it drops in future Karazans.

This is a REALLY good boss trinket.

As a healer u heal alot when u do hard bosses(not sucky bosses that u ppl that ditch this trinket does) that require u to heal for a very long time. But then again, ppl that dont "use" Healing/MP5 gear and just go for Healing would just be a WASTER of good loot to give this to. This is totally for Healing/MP5 priests!

it procs off all spells, including spells that don't have global cooldown. for a paladin, it gives a total of 22.75 mp5 over 2 minutes (since it has 2 minute cooldown). You can even activate it and simply mass spam switching auras if you're low on mana.

It's likely the fact it procs off all spells that would make it worthwhile.

All the regen ends in 20 seconds right? So you'll only get 4 ticks off of your first 3 spells, 3 ticks off of your next 3 spells, 2 ticks off of your 4 spells after that, and 1 tick off of the 3 after that.

This is assuming that you get the optimum amount of spells off(taking into account that you can only cast 1 every 1.5 seconds due to global cooldown.)

Your first 3 spells will generate 14 x 4 x 3 mana

The 3 after that will generate 14 x 3 x 3 mana

next 4 generate 14 x 4 x 2 mana

This ends up just inducing spam casting giving you only 440 mana in return. A + spell damage or healing trinket would be more mana efficient in my oppinion.

Since it's a stacking buff on every spellcast, you gain the mana from the previous tick + from the spells you cast after. And I seriously doubt you'll get off 13 heals, unless everything is completely screwed up. As a fire mage on say Wizard of Oz event spamming scorch, I'd go for another trinket as well. 448 mana for a trinket is really bad. Should be green, not epic.

Using instant casts I can get it to stack to 12.
Using 1.5s heal it stacks to 10.

Mana regen tics every 2 seconds.

With 12 casts the math works out as

I got 303 mana when I only had it stack 10 times.

2 min cooldown comes out to 13.8mana/5 if you stack it 12 times every time its up.

Or 10.8mana/5 if you only stack it 10 times every time its up.

Mindtap Talisman (lvl 56 blue) is 11m/5 and doesn't force you to cast.

So fairly underpowered at the moment. Blizzard really needs to buff it considering the difficulty in getting this item.

This trinket in 2.1.0 will get extra 40int and also will grant 21mp5 per stack. Each healerdine will want this one over any blue trinket available.

Now after patch this is really nice. One of the few trinkets with stats. 40int is really nice. It has only 2min cooldown so you can use it many times in a boss fight. Best is to use it from first cast so it cools down sooner. If you find it annoying to have to activate it then do a macro for one of your spells that activates it if its cooled down.

I'm a shadow priest and find this to be a nice trinket to help last long fights. Really good to use before casting instant spells like dots. I would use it when healing too. Activate and do loads of instant spells like renews.

Sorry, but wanding does NOT work with this. When you wand, the icon will look like it registers a hit, but look at your mana regen. It will not go up.

It also says that it will not work with items that do not have a mana cost.

I thought this would be good for endurance fights, but the reality is that it will only net me a couple hundred mana per 2 minutes at the cost of a lot of extra damage I could get with a damage trinket that can be triggered for more mana.

For mana regeneration, Mark of Defiance is better and for endurance fights with lots of mobs, the Power Infused Mushroom smokes this. The +40 intellect is nice, but that only equates to about .52% crit rate and 600 mana. I can get more total damage out of other trinkets in almost every conceivable type of fight.

This is coming from a fire mage (everybody else had it already when it dropped) so I think it is just going to sit in inventory until they buff it or until I need to room.

GIVE THIS TO TREE/BOOMKIN DRUIDS!

One huge thing that I found not mentioned on this trinket is that innervate amplifies the effect by 400%.

So a tree druid that pops this and innervate and throws down a ton of HoTs will get a whole lotta mana back.

Personally I use it on my boomkin and I love it, wrath spam keeps the charges up - and balance druids get 25% of their int in spell damage and 10% of their int in mp5.

So from this trinket a balance druid gets:
+.5% spell crit
+600 mana
+10 spell damage
+4mp5
And a sweet way to get mana back

The +40 intellect is exceptional on it's own. As an arcane mage, my total intellect (including all items and buffs) is increased by 15%. In addition, after the 15% BOOST, 25% of all that intellect increases my spell damage (which my arcane missiles now gets 45% increase of =D), not to mention the increase in mana and spell crit that intellect gives you. Also, arcane does intense damage, but is very mana intensive as a result, so any mana regen I can get is very helpful in an extended fight. I live for the high intellect gear =D.

I'm an ele shaman and I tried this thing out at prince in kara last night and I could definetly see the effect. I have both of my trinkets macro'd into my LB as to not waste 1 second of them while I'm spaming lightning bolts.. But I had a new thought ;)

I can macro this baby into my bloodlust spell and since i'ma troll I can also link in berserking. Thats 40% faster lightning bolts for 10 seconds and then 30% faster for the rest of the duration. I havn't done the math.. but that's good mana regen i'm sure..

As a balance druid without high end gear, i find myself struggling with mana preservation during long fights. So i figure this item would really help my longevity; considering wrath is 1.5 second cast and it becomes a .75 second cast when it crits (which is very often, 29% crit for me), i believe this item would surely do the trick. Also take into consideration spell haste, could even make wraths faster casts. I have not yet done the math for it, but by the looks of it, this item appears to be very useful for moonkins.

Ok so heres the scoop on this trinket....arcane mages ftw...each tick of AM counts as a seperate spell as we all know, and therefore it generates a stack from this trinket and regardless if the spell is resisted it still stacks so spaming rank 1 AM (85mana) will give a nice boost to longevity for arcane mages, not to mention my spell haste is at 5% and icy veins/blade of wizadry always procs and if i feel like wasting the 3min cd on mana regen i can.

Altogether there is no other class that can maxamize this trinket more than an arcane mage bc who cares if u stop dps for 20sec in order to get mana back, also the +46 armor 46int almost a spell crit and 10 spell damage comes in handy that mages recieve through talents, 12k mana ftw 1k spell damage

Im curious to see how this does on my lock once I get some haste to bring down my GCD.

It's a decent trinket at this point; but I feel with the new haste properties this has a pile of potential. I can only imagine what kind of mana this could generate on resto druid spaming .8 second GCD instant cast heals.

One thing awesome about this is it's on a different cooldown from my dps trinket.

On long fights pop this when re-dotting and lifetapping. I can usually get it up to about 10 ticks and it definitely helps.

This effect no longer stuck with Flash of Light and Holy Light, so is useless for an Holy Paladin

is a very good trinket, if you are good in the terms of +heals
i use it on my shammy, the int gives +heals from talents, crit rating, and mana. Boosted me to 13.1k mana buffed with only loosing 40 +heals. Any loss in +heals can be easily made up by switching of gems in your sockets.

don't overestimate the value of this trinket.

the two class builds that get the most benefit from it are holy paladins and balance druids.

i don't think this is the best mana regen trinket for healers who need still need mana regen, but if you don't have anything better, go for it.

all healers should have 4+ trinkets in their bags at all times. two that give +heal and two that give mana regen. switch them out depending on the fight. i switch out +heal for mana regen on long (10 min) boss fights.

Ok , im a frost/arcane mage 40/0/21 and this trinket PWNS , with this i got 15 k mana . And who gives a damn about mana regen my frostbolt is 270 mana and with clearcasting i can last a 20 min fight with mana gems only . It allso giefs 0.5 spell crit chance and 10 sd with arcane talents . And i aint replacing it untill i get the serpent figure thing from ssc

Arcane missiles, the ZA speed buff and this thing.
It squeezes the entire cast of missiles into 1 sec GCD.

I've had the buff stack over 70. What makes 3000 some regeneration.

Just tested it, stacks with arcane missiles, 1 per tick. This trinket becomes more effective with haste as a result. (Icy Veins ftw)

The absolute best use for this trinket is spamming arcane missiles. The initial cast counts as a cast, and every missile counts as a cast. That's 6 casts every 5 seconds, and no gcd to worry about. Add icy veins and heroism to the mix and you can hit some pretty insane Regen numbers.

50% cast speed from heroism and icy veins (unless it's multiplicative which would make it better) gives us an arcane missiles cast every 3.3 seconds, giving us 3 casts per 10 seconds (18 stacks) , and 36 total stacks over the duration.

This means at 5 seconds we are at about 200 MP5, at 10 seconds we are at about 400 MP5, and at 15 seconds we are at 600 MP5, I'll add 200 since I'm not counting the differences between the 5 second intervals giving us a total of 1400 regenerated. I'll spare u some math, with no haste buffs using arcane missiles still gives u around 800 mana and with icy veins it's somewhere between those.
