This has:

+6 sta
-2 int
+18 spi
-33 heal

Yes, better since it has better regeneration. But still a 'sidegrade'. Staffs need a buff to make them, at least, a good option vs. 1 hand+off hand. Just give this 45 sta, 45 int and 70 spi, so 2 hand weapons have more stats than 1 hand+off. This is my point of view, as a healer.

To compare spirit vs. mp5 I'll see the epic gems, so 4 mp5 = 10 spirit (I know this isn't accure).

60 spirit= 24 mp5
16 mp5= 40 spirit

So, seeing how this items are in the same tier, even though the Mace has more lvl (it comes from Vashj), we can see how Blizz sees 2 hand healer weapons: It's just for those one that prefer getting one item vs. two items, that probably will cost A LOT more DKP in their guild. Even from my point of view, being a ToL Druid, so spirit > mp5, I'd prefer wearing the mace and the off. Get the staff only if you are lazy, or don't like using so much dkps.

Don't forget, 62 Spirit yields +22 healing if you are a Priest with Improved Divine Spirit and Spiritual Guidance (+35% healing from Spirit). This brings the total +healing of the staff to:

415 + 22 = +437 healing

As a priest in 2.3 we also gain 1mp5 per 1.6 spirit with talents making the mp5 on this staff 37 which is REALLY nice. this by far is one of the beast healing staffs in the game. it beats out most main hand off hand combos.

i think that this staff is one of the BEST holy priest staves there are, because it increases healing by 415, and that means that it can save a tank's life, not to mention the other things it can do.

It drops from High Astromancer Solarian. But give picture! ;p

The spirit gives 34mp/5 outside of FSR for priests and 30.5mp/5 for druids.
However, while casting it's only 5.1mp/5 for a priest with meditation talents.
I wouldn't use it as a primary healing staff, only switch it when theres a break in healing that allows for time outside of FSR. As a regen staff it is the best, and it will help you regain your mana real fast if you happen to get the full benefit of spirit for a time. :)

I'm glad Blizzard keeps giving us weapons with lots of spirit on them. The spirit is sick regen for any healer, and is even more beneficial to a priest with the proper spec. Spiritual Guidance is such a powerful talent, especially when gear like this is in your hands. Having so much spirit gives you extra +heals, as well as crazy regen.

It seems that the stats given on this page are wrong (either that or WoW Armory is wrong).

What I see is
52 stam
44 int
62 spi

+415 heals and 138 damage

So it's actually even better. One day I will get it and replace that shiny staff from Nightbane.

Solarian is cake now. I can never get this to drop for me, but theres always next week.

With the 30% medidtation change this staff is awesome for mana regen. not bad for tree healers either.

Just got that bad boy after rolling 15 against an 11 from a guildie druid :D Talk about bad rolling...

Anwyays, the staff simply rocks. The huge spirit is just awesome.

And yes it appears to be weilded upside down. :D

About the healing modifier, I can verify that it is +415.

I also have a comment for the beta 3d viewer. The staff appears there to be purple, while in-game it is blue.

Shows what a dice game these drops are: this staff dropped so much for us, I got it for 0 dkp for offspec healing (I'm balance and all the real spec healers had it already), which pushed my healing set to over 2k. Now I have to fill in for missing healers during raids sometimes lol. It puts a mighty buff on my lifeblooms, etc, and the 62 spirit does noticeably improve innervate compared to my dps weapon.
Even more ironic, this is an awesome staff for running AV as balance, even with the healing enchant on it. The extra survivability from simultaneously HOT & dps in caster form means I can roast stuff and live at the same time -- 496 heal & 165 damage from this weapon alone.

Im not to sure if the person above me was being serious, been using Thottbot for the last year or so and i have made an account just to comment on the above.

1) I agree if you have a green weapon and no one wants the item and your willing to pay the shard then, yh gratz on you!

2) Are you mad? Im sure someone will need this even for off specs, and you can do so much better, even from PVP!

3) If your in a group and are preparing to be flamed i would ask which server your on so i can join your PuGs to TK!

With the 81 Healing enchant you get almost 500 healing from this weapon alone!

Great for my Holy Priest, but would love to have it for my Druid as well for the spirit when I self-Innervate.

This staff is rly imba for priests and druid :P and it's RLY easy to get it coz Solarian is dem easy... that is if ur party members watch the bomb, on our first try on her we got her to 25% and than, KABOOM! 5 ppl alive... and she kills us... shame... if we could hafe got her to 20% she wud be dead... coz then its no BOMM BOOM! or adds... than she just hits soft on the tank and no adds or spells. you can 2man her on 20%. well. today this was our 4'th time this staff is DE'd coz every priest and druid has it... why cant this staff stop droping ? =/

With the HUGE buff to spirit Blizz introduced in the last patch (I'm esp loving the HUGE mp5 increase... yummy!) this staff is totally amazing... the mp5, not to mention added healing, from +62 spirit = TOTAL WIN, imo. So much so actually, that I'm now debating on whether I'd prefer it to the "priest-on-a-stick" Bloodboil staff out of BT that I've been wanting so bad (but always fails to drop for me... /sigh. Story of my life as a holy priest actually: WTB more healy cloth drops & multi-class heal pcs with TONS of spirit like this one... A mace with tons o' spirit would be nice Blizz, HINT HINT...)

Anyway, both staves are so damn uber, I'd be happy with either one, to be honest. Oooo, here's a thought: get both maybe? BB staff for my max heal set, this staff for my mp5 regen set? (Wow, talk about some major wishful thinking... ROFL!)

Does this weapon have the most spirit in the game? I'm looking for a spirit set... The weapon I have now has 53(Not enchanted). If this is the highest, I'll try for this to enchant it(the enchant is crazy on gold...)

so.. the stats from these 2 are:

+48 int
+25 spi
+60 sta

and 519 Bonus heals without +81 healing enchant.
600 bonus healing with the enchant :)

now this staff got:

Ethereum Life-Staff

+52 Stamina
+44 Intellect
+62 Spirit

and 415 Bonus heals without healing enchant.
496 bonus healing with enchant.

The question is: will just the +37 more spirit save the day if I will have 104 less bonus healing?

i've had the lvl 61 blue cloth healing chest in blood furnace ninja'd off me by a hunter
i wasn't high enuf, and i got it b4 then, but man that guy was a tard
"it'll help my mend pet and bandages"
i was like.."or i could mend ur pet for you so you could actually do dmg for once...and +heals doesn't help bandages anyway."
and yeah, i came across him later and he was actually using it...
