I've only seen this drop in Heroic. Ran regular Mech at least 20 times and it never dropped. Have run Heroic mech only twice and it's dropped both times. Of course I wish I had known this before I ran regular mech 20 times to get this first.

if you dont want to spend all your time farming for cloak of placation from badges, this one is a good first step, according to Rawr(feral tank mitigation table), its the 2nd best cloak in the game, below cloak of placation

Best cloak for Panzerkin. call me crazy but it's true. Higher armor than any epic cloak, and panzerkins don't need defense or dodge.

Just wondering, in regards to the upcoming 3.0 patch. With 3/3 Survival of the Fittest making a druid crit immune ( thus making defense and resiliance useless tanking stats), this looks to me to be the best cape in the game for feral druids? The highest armor (390) I think? And very high stamina. Just a thought.

Resolute cape has slightly lower armor and stamina, but it has resilience too and can be crafted if you find someone with the recipe.

Got it on my first trip in with a pug group, all mages.
Slapped a +120 armor enchant on it and bam! Awesome tank cloak.

I really hate this cloak... I was in Mechanar 28 times... 6 times of that in heroic mode... And I really did not even seen it drop... NEED IT FOR MY FERAL DRUID...

This gives 32 more armor (about 180 in bear with thick hide) and 8 more stam, about 180 more health in bear with 5/5 HoTW. You lose 21 defense rating, but it isn't that hard to get enough defense elsewhere with gear and enchants to get to the 415 you need to be uncritable in PVE anyway.

I would take this over the Gilded Thorium for tanking. I put the +7 resist all on it because magic mitigation is the only thing really missing on most of my gear. Yes I could just wear Syrannis' Mystic Sheen, for resist, but it gives up too much armor and stam to be worth it, and it's too much trouble to change out when at a boss that requires more magic mitigation.

Also, since the reduction in the bear armor multiplier with patch 2.0.10, total bear armor is harder to get much above 20K. I max out at just under 24K with my max armor gear on, but usually tank with about 21K to add more defense from the heavy clefhoof armor.

Can anyone confirm that this drops in normal mode because I have made Mech runs now up to exalted and have still never seen it drop. Starting to despair here...

I just got this last night on my 70 feral druid. I was wondering what enchant would be best...

+12 agi would give me dodge etc
+150 armor would give me, duh, more armor
or I could do the +7 resist all.

Advice?

I will enchant it with +12 defence rating. I think it is more important for tanking drood than agi/resistances

No, there is no +defense enchant for cloaks. Given that the +armor enchant is applied after the 400% armor increase for dire bear, I'm strongly feeling that the +12 agi is all-around the best enchant for this.

Starting to think this cloak doesn't exist anymore. Been running Mech for a week straight and have seen everything except it drop! QQ

That is why I settled for https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=24253/cloak-of-eternity for now, but I think I would take thoriumweave over the eternity anytime, and just make it up somewhere else for the defense rating, also don't forget us "druids" only need 415 defense if you have survival of the fittest ^_^ take that warriors!

ok so i thought i was just being a whiny turd when lord capacitus hadn't dropped my cloak after 20-30 runs. so on my fortieth, yes 40th run (about 27-30 regular mech runs; the others heroic), and not seeing it drop i submitted a ticket, asking why so many people see it drop in there, except for me, being a druid, and actually needing the cloak. when the mace has a .3% lower drop rate and i see it as commonly as the necklace, shoulders and scythe.

blizzards response was "the thoriumweave cloak does exist. but we can't give you any hints. the best place is to check the forums" well i've looked in the druid forums and into other technical issue posts, and don't seem to find anything like this. i kinda thought maybe it was just a feral druid thing, that people like me were having problems with it dropping, but as i said, have found none.

if anyone knows a specific group makeup that can almost guarantee this drops...or has had this same problem with the same item, pls let me know. i just finished my 46th run, with no success. it makes me almost want to quit playing- but then i think how sweet it'll be once i get it, so i run again, only to be disappointed. thanks

I saw this item first time i went in Mech but I passed for fault. Now I've been there both in normal and eroic about 50 times (exalted whith Shat'ar), 2-3 times a day, but i've never seen it again.
Maybe drop rate is changed after new patch? mah..

Put +12 agi on it as a feral bear, +120 armor doesn't do TOO much, +12 agi gives u about 120 armor anyway, dodge and crit - and bears need BIG crits xD

Last spring, I probably ran Mechanar at least 10 times with my warrior. The 1st boss dropped this cloak every single time. I actually didn't know there was anything else he could drop until the past week, when I did two runs with my shaman and my feral druid friend with no cloak drop. Was the loot table for this boss patched at some point, or did I just experience extraordinary odds by having it drop 100% of the time for so long until now?

21 runs so far, and nothing.

I won't give up though, this thing's just too good to pass up, not to mention the only other comparable one to this in terms of stamina and armor is the gilded thorium cloak off Illhoof, and my guild is just beginning kara, so I have a feeling I won't be seeing that for a while.

Well I feel lucky :) 1st Mech run on the druid and it drops... 10 minutes after the run tossed a 12 agility on it. Now 24.5k armor, 25% to dodge 404 def. 13.7k hp. Time for Kara and Gruul baby!

Keep an eye on the AH for Badge... ie Badge of Tenacity. Got mine for 500g and lovin it!

just saw a few people posting what enchant they should get but didn't see the real explanation why agility is better....agility is by far the better enchant for druid tanks. it takes 14.7 agi for a druid to get 1% dodge. the best agi/dodge value for any class. it takes 18.9 dodge rating to equal 1% dodge for all classes. so 12 agi gives more dodge % for a druid than 12 dodge rating. not to mention the small amount of crit and armor you get on top of that, or attack power in cat if you happen to be OT and facing a single tank encounter. armor or resist are not even an option as dodge is your only way to avoid crushing blows.
