This can be turned into larger planar essences. These mainly are contained form disenchanting all outland stuff that is below level 65.

I agree to some extend.

These are found in levels 57 - 70
57 - 60 = lower chance
60 - 65 = most likely where you'll find them
65 - 70 = If you're "unlucky" you will also find them :P

People complain because they want Large Brilliant Shards and not Lesser Planar Essences, but what can you do - To be safe, farm items that are mid 50s.

More specifically, you can get planar essences and arcane dust by disenchanting items that were released with the Burning Crusade expansion. Outland stuff. From what I've seen, you cannot get planar essence or arcane dust from anything in Azeroth.

Large Brilliant Shards come from high level pre-BC stuff...the stuff in Blackrock Depths and Scholomance, and the like.

It's not, I think, so much the item level as the source.

These lesser ones can also be mined from the second boss in Mana-Tombs, Tavarok, from 3-6 lesser.

look if you go to HP ...any place in outlands out of atleast 1 of every 30 kills you probably will get a green armor drop-rare armor drop or even epic...most of these disenchants from 60-64 will give you it
