This set has also associated an off-hand staff (as weird as it sounds), Verga di Filo d'Argento, and a cloak, Mantello di Filo d'Argento.
Also, for the looks, I'd say the vest Armatura di Filo d'Argento should be used instead the robes, as it looks a lot more in line with the rest of the set, as can be seen in this image provided by Groksjin.

If you can't get your hands on the hands *giggles* Guanti del Padrone and Guanti di Telafatua, the latter craftable by any tailor, have exactly the same looks.

When looking for fitting gloves that do not cover the bracers, I'd suggest Guanti di Telamagica Nera.

As for boots, if you're wearing the robes I prefer Stivali di Stoffa dell'Ombra Congelati over the "set" piece.

I have put together a transmog set that is highly similar to this. It looks awesome on Forsaken priests. Some of the pieces may well look good with the Silver-Threaded set, especially the staff and dagger. The belt also works well if you don't like the red gem on the Silver-Threaded belt.

Robe: Black Velvet Robes (world drop. This is identical to the Silver-Threaded Robes + the Stylish Black Shirt.)
Hat: Black Mageweave Headband (tailors make this for dirt cheap)
Cloak: Ironscale War Cloak (drops from Rokmar the Crackler in heroic Slave Pens)
Shoulders: Flameseer Mantle (easily farmable in Uldaman)
Bracers: Doesn't really matter, as they can't be seen over the gloves. I use Shackles of the Odalisque from Ulduar.
Gloves: Savage Gladiator's Mooncloth Gloves (sold for 348 Justice points in Dalaran)
Belt: Astralaan Belt (world drop green, check your AH)
Pants: Leggings of Concentrated Darkness (world drop blue -- unnecessary since it can't be seen under the robe, but I would feel naked without pants.)
Boots: Sorcerer Slippers (world drop green)
Staff: Staff of Natural Fury (world drop Burning Crusade epic. It may take a while to find it, but it's the perfect look with this outfit and is well worth the wait).
Mace: Venomspitter (Drops from Mother Smolderweb in Blackrock Spire -- I'm not thrilled with this mace but haven't found a better one.)
Dagger: Warsong Shanker (available at the Horde base in Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord. There is an identical Alliance version of this dagger but I forget its name).
Off-hand: Jindo's Lost Bag of Whammies (drops from the Archeology boss in Zul'Gurub)

For the shoulders, Spalletti Astralaan are a good lookalike, especially if you find them cheap on the AH. They are also a world drop like the Silver-Thread Amice. (from BC-level mobs though)

~~For leather wearers looking for a set like this, Cadaverous Garb is identical, excluding shoulders and robe (only has the vest - Armatura Cadaverica).~~
Goodbye old Scholomance gear.

Edit: Someone may fancy to use Giubba di Tessuto di Draco as an alternative to the chest of this set or Spalletti dei Teschio Ridente for smaller shoulders, which still match colour-wise.

Try the Silver-Thread armor, rather than the robe, for a sleeker look that lets you show off the fabulous boots. In addition, either black mageweave pieces (belt, bracers) are good to fill it out, but I prefer the netherweave pieces because they really are just a plain black color that blends in.

For farming, I suggest just switching between Gnomeregan and Scarlet Monastery (all four wings). For Gnomeregan, make sure you have plenty of bag space (especially for horde) and kill everything. You will also get a lot of wool, silk, and some magweave that sells well.

I think Coprispalle del Ladro d'Anime looks better than the silver-thread, plus its easier to farm somewhat.

This set uses the "Black Silver" variant of the "B3 Cloth" artwork and forms a complete six-piece set of the art.

Cadaverous Garb has the same look but is leather.

Note that the B3 Cloth set doesn't have any artwork for a headpiece or shoulders. There are shoulders in the "Silver-Thread" set but they use unrelated artwork and so aren't listed here. So pick whatever you like as there are no intended matches.

There aren't any "simple" recolours of this design, but there are two other colours in the artwork, each with the same cut but a very different pattern. Sadly neither has many pieces available in the game. Click on the links to view appearance and available pieces:

Green Tree: Rebirth Regalia (only chest, belt and boots)
Red Phoenix: (no transmog page, click the link to view appearance and pieces) bright scarlet, teal and brown with a stylized golden phoenix design

Note that Tonaca di Filo d'Argento doesn't use the same artwork as the rest of this set and so isn't listed here. Its a short-sleeved version of Vesti di Velluto Nero. See Aurora Regalia (Recolor) for transmog info and what it's related to.

For Horde members, just remember that there is easy access to Gnomeregan using the goblin portal in Grom'gol, it's located right outside of the inn. This makes doing runs of Scarlet Monastery and Gnomer fairly quick and painless, travel wise at least.

There are a few black and silver sets in the game that can be mixed and matched to get a nice look based on your preference.

A combination that I found to be quite nice is (here is a link):
* Necropile Robe (chest - drops from last 6 bosses in Scholomance)
* Ironweave Mantle (shoulder - drops from Arena Spoils chest in BRD, extremely hard to obtain now, unless you saved the Banner of Provocation pre-Cata)
* Netherweave Gloves (hands - tailor craft is the easiest for this model)
* Sash of Whispered Secrets (belt - drops from Cache of the Firelord from MC, Majordomo encounter)

* Combine with your favorite black boots
