I absolutely love this set. I used it for transmog on my Mage. Although I don't care much for the headpiece and am using the scintillating headdress of second sight :)

A brilliant set!

Heads up - its VERY time consuming to farm this set. It includes 8 items:

I've had started with Mitria del Canalvento and Guanti del Canalvento, which was the easiest to get, farmed Scheggia Apexis until I had 35, used the on the Monumento Apexis around Blade's Edge Mountain and failed on purpose! You get Guardiano Apexis that gives 1 Cristallo Apexis.
You will need 7 Cristallo Apexis for your Head and Gloves, those are bought from Maestro Tecnoetereo, this NPC (And few more) will spawn after a small event that is easily soloable by any level 85. You will need to defend the NPCs that exist there, after each wave you get a new NPC vendor, and after the last wave, you will get the Geode vendor!.
Grande Geode Metamorfico d'Oro will contain the headpiece Mitria del Canalvento.
Piccolo Geode Metamorfico d'Oro will contain the gloves Guanti del Canalvento.

For Coprispalle del Canalvento, you will need Chiave della Camera di Stasi degli Etereum which is obtained by doing the repeatable quest called Epurare le Camere di Bash'ir.
You must have 5 Chiave della Prigione degli Etereum in order to get 1 Chiave della Camera di Stasi degli Etereum. With those upgraded keys from the quest you can open cells around Bash'ir landing, some of these cells have a chance to spawn Matrona Li-Sahar which will drop Coprispalle del Canalvento, it is 100% drop. but the actual mob has around 20% to spawn (5 mobs can spawn in total).
*Note: You can open as many cells as there are available, after opening an area of 3, they will respawn shortly after, dont give up!*

For the Cinta del Canalvento and Antibracci del Canalvento head to Skettis in Terokkar Forest, Farmed some Polvere d'Ombra from all the mobs there, for the quest Altra polvere d'ombra (Unless you never did it before, which then I suggest looking into the Guardacieli Sha'tari rep grinding). turned into the Elisir delle Ombre using the repeatable quest Severin gives (in the camp near Skettis).
After using Elisir delle Ombre you will see mobs that are not visible otherwise, they will drop Pergamene Preistoriche.
10 of these scrolls you can use on the skull piles scattered around Skettis, for the summons of each of the 4 mini bosses:

Gezzarak la Cacciatrice - Drops Artigli di Gezzarak.
Stridente Oscuro Akkarai - Drops Artigli di Akkarai.
Karrog - Drops Spina di Karrog.
Vakkiz lo Sfuriavento - Drops Scaglia di Vakkiz.

Those 4 mini bosses can drop the Waist and Wrist parts of the item set, Cinta del Canalvento and Antibracci del Canalvento.
*The items they drop will also assist later on when trying to obtain the leggings.*

The Stivali del Canalvento piece is very RNG relied (AKA, you can get it on your first 10 keys, or like me, with over 400 keys), you will need Chiave della Prigione degli Etereum again to open cells in Ethereum Staging Grounds in Netherstorm, one of the many mobs that can spawn from these cells is Porfus il Mangiagemme, it has a **SMALL** chance of dropping Stivali del Canalvento.
It is very frustrating stage as the prison keys are not so easy to obtain, you can get them in the following strategies:

Heroic Mana-tomb runs can grant 3-10 keys in a single run (Don't kill bosses so you can reset instance after clearing!).
Daily quests in Shattrath.
Auction house.
Grinding Ethereals all around Bash'ir Landing in Blade's Edge Mountain or Netherstorm.

After all that I was still missing the Gambiere del Canalvento and Giubba del Canalvento which are quite easy to obtain - Auction house!
But if you're not fond of the auction house then I'll explain breifly how to obtain it.
Gambiere del Canalvento are from Terokk in skettis (easily soloable as level 85).
When you kill the 4 mini-bosses mentioned earlier you will get an item from each one of them, with those 4 items you go to Lignaggi Rivali in the camp near Skettis, he will offer a repeatable quest called Lignaggi Rivali completing it will reward you an item called Offerta Preistorica, with that you go to the middle of Skettis (Surrounded by the lake), there you will see another pile of skulls like the one that you use to summon the mini bosses, with your Offerta Preistorica you will summon Terokk, an ugly bird who has a chance to drop the Gambiere del Canalvento (Which are BoE!).

For Giubba del Canalvento you need to kill Yor in Heroic Mana-Tombs, he has a chance to drop Giubba del Canalvento.

The Colori del Cavaliere go very well with this set if you want a Stormwind(ish?) cloth wearer.

This set (aside from the headpiece and belt) uses the Blue variant of the "Blood B1 Leather" artwork and forms a complete six-piece set of the art.

For a complete six-piece set of the same in leather see: Fel Skin (Recolor).

There actually isn't any art in that set for a helm or belt, none was ever created. The ones here use art from other sources from other sources that Blizzard chose to complete the set, and they aren't too bad a match. But pick whatever you like as there aren't any intended matches.

There are actually four other colours of this set in the artwork database, and three of them have a reasonable number of leather pieces in the game (though only the Red set is complete), but sadly no other complete (or mostly-complete) versions in cloth. See:

Dark purple (officially "Black"): Windchanneler's Regalia (Recolor) (just chest, legs and bracers). Also a leather version: Fel Skin (Recolor) (missing shoulders, gloves and boots)
Red: Fel Skin in leather. See this link for the chest, bracers and gloves of a cloth ("Flameheart") version
Orange: Fel Skin (Recolor) (missing shoulders and bracers) in leather. No cloth versions available.
The final colour is a pinkish-purple (officially "Purple"). I haven't found any available pieces that use it, however

Can anyone suggest an alternative pair of boots to match the set? Because I've been farming keys for ages, must have gone through at least 200 prison keys and no luck...

In addition to the other comments, it is important to note that this set is tightly bound to Consorzio, Ogri'la and Guardacieli Sha'tari quests/rep. If you are attempting to grind this set without any previous faction involvement, there are a number of required questlines to access the parts. You will need a Consortium rep of Revered or better for the full set, especially if you cannot get someone else to farm you the chest piece. For reference, below are all quests that must be done and what pieces you gain access to.

Ogri'la/Sha'tari

With these done, the Head and Gloves are accessible, and you can trade Cristallo Apexis for their containing geodes. Check the last quest's page for full details on where to go and what to do, and be aware that on your first assault, you may need to attack the Tirapiedi Schiavizzatore at the site, as they may not swarm forward initially.

Consortium
You must be at least Honored with The Consortium to begin this questline.

With these done, the Boots are accessible. They are, however, potentially the most time-consuming part in the set(Might I suggest Stivali Lisci Cenariani or similar?). To continue the quests, you must attain Revered.

With these done, the Shoulders are accessible. From here, if you have a friend or alt with Occhio di Haramad, have them farm the chest for you, if not, I suggest reaching Exalted before continuing (Grind heroic Mana Tombs without killing the bosses).

With these done, the Chest is accessible. Use the relic to farm Yor in the Mana Tombs, then maybe gather a few more afterwards to spare others so much work!

Lovely set, I'm loving the colors so much!
However, I was wondering if there was a robe/dress that would go with the pauldrons/headpiece just as perfectly. I'd like to have both a pants and top option and a dress/robe option when roleplaying.

After completing all the requirements and various prison opening grinds to get this set, you may begin to wonder who the transmoggers have imprisoned next to them...
