I think this is the coolest Burning crusade title you can get. You can find the quest at the top of the tower in the isle of Quel'Danas. You have to be exalted with the shattered sun before the quest is available.

You get a little over 2000 rep from the dailies available at the isle, i think 12 in all. You get a little over 2000 rep from herioc magister's terrace, around 1500 in normal. Very easy title to get seeing how you can faceroll heroic and normal in about 15-20mins.

I have this title on my priest. Normally I'd say 1000 gold for a title seems a bit much. However at the time when everyone was on the Isle doing dailies it didn't take long to get. I checked in on Quel'Danas post Cata, no one goes there anymore making the title and tabard a bit unique.

So wonderful to meet you all, I earned this Achievement and Title awhile ago, however I know for a fact that it is still obtainable. You have to go and do all of the Daily Shattered Sun Offensive Quests. Trust me, it's worth the effort and the 1000 gold you have to donate to Anchorite Kairthos at the end of your Reputation Gain.

Just finished getting my title, companion (Phoenix hatchling) and Tabard (best looking tabard in the game in my opinion)

Just run Magisters terrace normal over and over, you'll need to run it about......50 or so times before you hit exalted with each run taking you about 5-8 minutes if you are level 90 and rush through it. Run the Heroic version when you can but it locks you out so you can only do it once per day, which is why you'll be forced to rep grind through the normal version. You will get the phoenix hatchling from Keal'thalas eventually so be sure to loot him.

The mount only drops on heroic sadly so chances are you won't get it during the rep grind unless you are lucky. Ignore the daily's they give little rep in comparision to just blowing through the dungeon.

The title is not BoA, after you hit exalted you'll be able to get the quest than donate 1,000 gold for it. Not sure why it's not BoA but it makes the title....more valuable to get I guess as you'll be one of the few out there who has it. I'd like for it to be BoA as well.....maybe in the future it will be.

It took me about 4-5 hours straight of grinding. You can only run 5 instances every hour sadly so it might take you a day or two if you dedicate all your time to it. It is worth it though as you get the title, companion and tabard and also access to a nice looking transmoggable shield at the rep vendor and a chance for the mount. Good luck : )

This is the favorite of all my titles and one of the best looking tabards as well. I see very few people showing this title in and around the main cities so it is definitely one to have if you want to stand out in a crowd.

The grind is painless in most cases as most people have either long gone or completely forgotten about this title and only visit the area to farm Sunwell or Magister's Terrace.

I can confirm that this title is still in game as of 5.0.5, and yes, you still need to pay the 1,000 gold for it EVEN if you have it on another character. Sad day.

bit this title is NOT account wide!

(found this out the hardway, had a lv70charracter that had Exalted reputation, but newer did the 1000g last quest, now did as wanted the title for another charracter. Asked of this, was it a Bug of somesort as for example Guardian of Cenarius is account wide. GM told, this is not a bug of anysort)

Confirmed that this can be obtained in patch 5.1.0

The title ( 5.1.0) is NOT BoA, so choose wisely before you start grinding on your toons. The title requires 1,000 gold and exalted with the Shattered Sun faction.

Additionally, some tips:

If you are grinding for "Ambassador ______________", this is the perfect place to do so. Equip one of your home cities, and start running. Every normal run will net you around 2-3k rep for your home city and rouhgly 1-1.75k rep for the Shattered Sun.
A heroic run will net 3k each or so.

In no time, you'll be exalted with the Shattered Sun and exalted with some home factions as well.

I do a full sweep, and kill everything, and loot everything. Total loot is around 100 gold, plus 40-100 netherweave cloth. Overall, 23 bag slots required per run on average.

Additionally, if you receive the rare BoP pet from the Kael'Thas Sunstrider, and learn it, and then decide to sell it, here's a tip. It goes for 10,000 + on the BMAH. I sold my first for 80.00, since I was an idiot. My second went for 2560 gold. Nice profit.

In addition, when running heroic, you receive a chance to win a mount :D At level 85 you pull the rep levels I mentioned. At 90, it is slightly nerfed, but that is to be expected. I think this (on normal) should be soloable by a level 80 or less, and heroic by a level 83-84 in good gear.

I can confirm this title is still available as of patch 5.3 12/06/2012 (English date)

To get exalted I just complete each daily and ran Magisters Terrace each day, it only took about 5 days. Once exalted speak to Magnanimous Benefactor at Sun's Reach and complete the 1000g quest and the title is yours. I had no issue/bug with the title showing so it looks like they resolved that.

Everybody seems more interested in telling you whether or not this title still exists which is fine, but who sells/grants it?

Completing this quest : A Magnanimous Benefactor given by Anchorite Kairthos will award the character the title <Character name> of the Shattered Sun. Other characters on the account can only receive the title by completing the quest as well.
The quest is only available at Exalted.

As of 5.4 (11/25/2013) I received the title on my pandaren monk. It did not show up until I logged out and back in, so if you don't see it right away, try this.

Well, got exalted with the Shattered Sun Offensive, all hyped ''I'm gonna have this title as soon as I hit exalted"... Unfortunately not. But I hit exalted by doing the dailies then powering through Magisters Terrace (Fastest run: 4 Minutes 30 seconds). I already had the mount and pet before this, having farmed it on my alt in Cata. But this title is beautiful, and well worth the 1000g. I don't believe I have ever seen anyone (on my server at least) with this title. Happy hunting in getting yours!

Confirming as of Patch 5.4.8 this title is still NOT account bound, you will need to pay the 1000g on each character in order to use the title and have reached exalted for each as well. The quest will not show up unless you are exalted

Just sharing in case this happens to anyone else.

I went and bought this for my 2nd toon and it did not appear in my list of titles, neither did I get the line in chat "you have earned such and such a title".
It appeared after relogging (to check that my 1st toon still had it (which she does, if it matters)).

I got this title the old fashioned way - by doing dailies for weeks before they added the ability to gain rep from wearing a tabard. As a prot warrior. Before they made it easy to switch specs, and, at the time, protection warrior was terrible, so everything took fooooorever to kill, and enemies dismounted you if they so much as breathed in your direction. Saving up the 1000 gold while raiding and doing dungeons on top of it was the icing on the terrible sandwich. Hanging out on vent having endless conversations with guilies while did their own routines in pursuit of their own particular goals made the tedium bearable, though.

But god was I proud when I finally got it, and do so remain. It is, and will remain, the only title I've ever used on my warrior - still my main. I've only ever seen one, maybe two other people with it in all these years.

Man, core memories right there. Weirdly specific, and so much emotional value over a 3 word line of text. *!@#'s @#$%ed up.

They better never make it account-wide -_-
