Have been looking for Kalec in The Portrait Room in Dalaran and The Dreamgrove since then to complete The Power Within (43505)**. Headed over to Azsurewing Repose and there he was so I guess I can skip 43505.

Completed questline for Nightfallen, but Not Forgotten.

Now Rivertree, Starweaver, and Mooncaller are in Shal'Aran but wont talk to me.

I don't understand why some quests were not available and skipped. I can't progress. No other quests in line are available nor are quest givers present. Trying to figure out how to finish by checking every quest in chain, making sure I have the prereqs, etc. Having to check several sites since I can't find everything in one place. I'm at a loss. Submitted bugs and tickets. Reload UI, log out and back in is not a valid response nor does it fix anything.

Try finding Kalec in Meredil in the place (forget the name of it) where you saved Thalysra. It's where all the portals are located once you open access to all of them.

Doing this right now again for a new alt as I want the artefact skins before Shadowland and well, this is what I gathered

- You will need to get revered reputation with Nightfallen and Valarjar so before you even get started you can do worldquests and so on, cause the quest line only did not suffice (at least for me).

- Keep the Blood of Sargeras you drop from all sources, as you will need 30 of them at one point in the quest line and it does not drop everywhere.

- Breaching the tomb achievement is needed and even if it may be shown as such: IT IS NOT AN ACCOUNT WIDE ACHIEVEMENT. Meaning you will have to do it on each char where you want to do Balance of power.

- Do your class hall campaign before you do the Balance of Power storyline. It does not last very long, except for the 5 missions which, well, you have to wait for, but they are at this day around one hour each so not a huge wait. I have read comments saying you do not need to complete the class hall campaign, others say you need to. As you need anyways to grind a huge amount of quests to complete this achievement, I now begin by the class hall campaign, it saves me stress for nothing. There is a great list overview for each class here: Just click on the spoiler below your class you have all the quests listed and if you are registered on wowhead and linked your Bnet it even shows you how far is your char with it.

- Some side quest lines need absolutely to be completed before you can move on: For example Defending Azurewings Repose or Moon Guard stronghold. On my first toon I was convinced I had done the Moon Guard as I had the mini achievement in Leyline Bling called Moon Guard but this is completely different.

- Get in your mind you will probably not be able to complete this in one go. I did the whole quests raw until the Shards of Nighthold in about two days BUT the raid is apparently done to not drop you all the shards in one run (unless you are very lucky). I run it in mythic mode with my husband the first week and got 13 shards, 10, depends. The second week though I got all the missing ones. But I also read some people get them in three weeks. (maybe normal mode drops less). Also do not forget to check your inventory. Some boss drop no shards but an item you need to click to get in average 3 shards at once : Immaculate Nightshard Curio

My facit is that it saves me time now to just: Complete the class hall, get the reputations on Nightfallen and Valarjar on revered, make sure to have the side storylines done: Defending Azurewings Repose, Nightfall, Moon Guard Stronghold. Complete the Breaching the Tomb achievement mentioned above.

If for some reason you are stuck on a quest, just check the comments on it in Wowhead, I almost always found the answer as of why I was blocked.

Enjoy the ride, it does last and it is annoying if you repeat it on alts, but ...the satisfaction once you have the skins unlocked <3

A note on Blood of Sargeras -- check your order hall mission table. I had 9 from the first two dungeons and needed 30 for Kalec. I found two missions for Blood of Sargeras, sent them off at 200%, and in 10 hours had 33 blood. If you're willing to wait a little while, this is a great option.

Ah so you've decided to do this quest line. Welcome.

Things to note - as of 10.1 this is still heavily time gated. If you are lucky you could finish it in 3 weeks. However I would recommend 4-6.
The main obstacles are Incubo di Smeraldo: L'essenza del potere and Rocca della Notte: Nella Rocca della Notte. Each one will take a minimum of two weeks.
Your second obstacle is reputation. You'll need

Honored with Corte di Farondis
Revered with Esuli Oscuri
Revered with Valarjar

Along the way you'll need ancient mana. You can grab plenty of it at the winery region of the city quickly. Don't bother gathering it around Sarumar - it's tiny amounts compared to those inside the city.

I recommend grinding the rep for the Nighfallen and Valarjar while waiting for the weekly reset of the raids.
Nightfallen do their quest lines - I got a little bit into the Insurrection quest line before hitting Revered
Valarjar do their quest lines and then WQs and spam Maw of Souls.

So to recap:

Do the Azsuna quest line to get to honored with Corte di Farondis and also unlock this quest line
Once you get time gated at The Emerald Nightmare, start doing all the quests and WQs around Sarumar and get to revered with Nightfallen
Then once you get time gated at The Nighthold, do all the quests and WQs around Stormheim and spam Maw of Souls.
