As of 4.3, jumping at the surface of a deep body of water on a land mount will cause the mount to travel at full speed while it is out of the water, and return to swim speed when it lands. Not sure if this is a bug or intended. It's quite fun, though, and has some timing implications for some battlegrounds.

Edit: This was fixed shortly after the release of 4.3. But I shall forever fondly remember the great unintended mount speed-up of 4.3.

As far as I can tell, all mounted speed now scales with your riding skill. Apparently, there's no way I can choose to go slower, other than at a dead walk. Sucks to be running in a party of mixed mounts. :/

As of 5.1.0, dismounting while flying forward in a flying mount will make you travel as fast as your flying speed while you fall, instead of just slowing you down during the fall.

I've heard there was a mount you can get from archaeology digs... anyone know where? (honest question. no need to downrate. I'm sure others would like to know as well.)

It's Always Good To Have New Mounts

So I'm a bit confused about how Blizz counts your mounts collected. In game on all my toons on both factions my mount logs shows me having 150 mounts. My achievement log shows me at 129 of 150 mounts. I've gone to my toon profile on the Blizz site and two of my horde toons show me having 128 mounts, one of my alliance toons has 113 mounts.
Since I earned the achievement for 100 mounts I have been working on my mounts on two horde toons. One of which has collected 2 profession only mounts. The other toon, which has no class/profession mounts, I have collected my mounts from ether neutral vendors and drops. So I'm a tad confused on how Blizz is counting my mounts that three different sources give different counts. What am I missing?

I wish Blizzard would take OFF the lists, the mount/pet THAT ARE NOT AVAILABLE anymore..., :(

I think blizzard or whoever is in seat now should at least do a feat of strength or world first for mounts unattainable in game
or a vender that is once every 6 month for gold or tokens !
