This is Lucifer here. also known as the paladin twink Axecop-Dalaran. <--- remember this name if you play horde, you will see me after you in warmode with names similar to this. There's something I found on the BFA PTR Prepatch that I think all twinks will find interesting and will make me father of twinking for it. :)

Northrend Engineering is nothing new, but on the BFA PTR (Public Testing realm, kind of like beta, but for the public) Pre-patch 19 twinks have been running around with trinkets like the which has 22 intellect compared to the heirloom trinket that provides 6, which requires Northrend Engineering.

I'm sure twinks that knew about this wouldn't share the information for sheer power and less competition. I've reported several twinks on the PTR for exploiting until I looked deeper in it, seems like this might be a PTR change, or might of been there without our knowledge.

Im guessing that now that ilevel dont matter we will see more stats gear which is good. BFA will bring back twinking and engineering will be a big part of it no matter what level you are... well unless you're 101 but still I'm pretty sure we all use some engineering items.

So far in my understanding there are several engineering you can learn per zone, and with next expansion giving non sub players defult legion you can sub and see if legion engineering is up there for you to grab some powerful items, since all gear is scaled, well most, engineering on all expansions should be looked at and compared according to the specific level you are twinking at. If you are lacking spells then might make it up with stat scaling.

Is it me or does the guy Timofey-oshenko not have the Explosive Decoy treat... Cant get further than 10 in Northend engineering... Freaks me out...

Northrend Engineering can be taught by Timofey Oshenko in Dalaran (Crystalsong Forest) at 38,25. I would recommend the following site to optimize leveling Northrend Engineering, as well as any other profession.

Fastest (and cheapest) levelling for Nitro Boosts:

1-15 make 10-20 Handful of Cobalt Bolts, and level up to 15 with Explosive Decoy (~35 Volatile Blasting Trigger, 15 Frostweave Cloth)
15-20 Tinker belt (item is bought from vendor for ~1g)
21-25ish Froststeel Tube (can go to 26/27 if lucky on green skill proc, about 80-100 Cobalt bar, 8-10 Crystalized Water),
25-30 Diamond-cut Refractor Scope (5-6 Froststeel Tube, 10-12 Handful of Cobalt Bolts)

Overall I used about 120-140 Cobalt Bars, 10 Crystalized Water, 10 Frostweave Cloth.

Tip for Cobalt Bars, as they seem to be somewhat expensive right now (20g+ per bar), you can farm them easily since they require 1 Northrend Mining skill to mine and smelt, so you can farm up the required amount in 20-30mins or less, depending on luck!

You will also need an Blacksmithing Hammer (vendor at trainer sells), an Arclight Spanner, and a Gyromatic Micro-adjuster. The last one is best bought off the AH or get another Engineer to make it since it requires vanilla skill OR a Gnomish Army Knife
