I have done this quest about 5 times now and it seems if you kill crocs near his little area (37,22) the droprate is higher there.

Usually if i just kill them, takes between 1-4 dozen kills, but in that area i have had it drop almost instantly (3 kills max)

Killed about 8 or 9 regular crocs, no drop.
Then I killed a corrupted croc and it dropped. Could be a coincidence, could be not.

Well i have to say, i think that this item dropping more in a certain area must have been a coincidence, i've run through this quest three times, 1 time I got it in 10 kills, second it took about 4-5, and third i'd at least killed 30 and it hadnt dropped. No particular place for me, really.

For me it took almost 50 krocs to kill for the drop. Very, very frustrating and very small chance of drop, 6% out 20 lvl 9 kroc.

I killed approximately 125 crocolisks and went from level 9 to 11 and never had it drop, finally just abandoned the quest.

It doesn't matter what coordinates you go to for any quest that requires drops, it's all random. Meaning there is a certain percent chance that a quest item will drop from a monster.

Just kill the right type of monster, and eventually the drops will come.

I only had to kill 6 crocs in all before it dropped, no where exact, just killed them while heading down the river.

I've Finally Figured it out. there's a pattern. You need to kill the Crocolisks untill two bloody boot are dropped. After that the next 1-3 you kill should have the amulet.
P.S. Try and stay away from the corrupted one he's lighter in color and deadlier

There is no pattern. Any crocolisk in the Southfury River will drop Kron's Amulet. The only thing worth noting is that Corrupted Dreadmaw Crocolisks have a slightly higher drop rate for the amulet than normal Dreadmaw Crocolisks.

The only positive thing about this quest that if you are a skinner, you get a couple of stacks lightys and ruined :P

Otherwise, mostly waste of time, unless you get it in the first 20 kills.

its true, i killed at least 20 and no drop, i even looked for the item on the bottom of the river but it only comes out killing the crocs. dont be fooled for the dot when using questhelper

I started killing mobs around the bridge then started moving north of the bridge along the Southfury River (your mini-map will change to this name here).

I got it in 10-20 kills.. when I did this quest last time it was many more kills but I started much further south also.

A "Corrupted Dreadmaw Crocolisk" lev 11 dropped the amulet. This mob respawned at this location after I killed it. (34,52) but has not re-respawned here.

By "the bridge" I mean the one that connects the road from razor hill to the barrens.

Got this on first kill
Objective of: Lost But Not Forgotten (Orc in a hut east of the river)

I ran straight to the river (west) headed north slightly and killed one croc there dropped straight away, maybe its that specific group of crocs that has a higher drop rate?... i cant verify this since i dont have quest again on an alt, but maybe somone can check it out? :)

the amulet ONLY drops from Curppted Dreedmaw Croccolisk! q helper says that it drops from Dreedmaw Croccolisk to but that is not true. I killed all Dreedmaw croccolisk in southfury river from the bridge and up. dident find any amulet. then i saw a curppted dreedmaw croccolisk and when i killed that one i got it.

Be careful if you don't turn this quest in right after you get the Amulet, it can despawn and you will have to kill for another one.

This happened to me today. I did that quest then I did the quest where you obtain an antidote for a sick guy and the amulet just disappeared.

Just letting you all know so it doesn't happen to someone else.

I don't know if it's a bug or if it's made like this, but the tooltip doesn't tell you anything about it having a despawn timer.

Went west from the bridge until the end of the river at the merchant coast and back. Got it on my circa 25th kill.
Also allowed me to discover Shrine of the Dormant Flame, which was very handy.

The drop is lootable by all party members regardless of loot settings, so i found that having a full party killing all the crocs cut the time down considerably.

I have kill somewhere on 35-40 mobs and steal haven't drop..

The drop rate on this quest alone is the reason why people quit WoW before Level 10. It's atrocious to have to kill crocodiles all day long to get a drop.

Now seriously, I did this quest for at least 1hour idk how many crocs i have killed, but ill give you a clue... I had 5 in skinning, now im 50 and counting (yes, while i was doing this quest i was posting... why? cause i need some human -no-croc- contact

Now Obsolete, this quest has transitioned to Lost But Not Forgotten for Cataclysm. A well thought follow up, and a much easier quest to complete.

<name>, please, can you help me? My son Kron went hunting days ago, and he still hasn't returned. He went west towards the Barrens to hunt crocolisks along Southfury River. I fear the worst.

As strong as he was, his stubborn pride has always drawn him into trouble. I warned him that the crocolisks were powerful and vicious. He grew angry and stormed off.

If you can't find him, at least bring me a sign of his fate... even if you have to open up the stomach of every crocolisk along the Southfury's banks.
