Each of the races has a seperate NPC that gives this quest. The NPC is usually located near the tailoring trainers in the race's capital. Turning in the quest to that race's NPC also gives you a significant amount of reputation for that race.

After the initial hand-in, this quest becomes repeatable. For every stack you hand in (as opposed to the three stacks initially), you get the same amount of reputation per runecloth turned in as the original quest.

This quest becomes available at lvl 50. So all you poor blood elves and draenei -- you're stuck with your lullaby pansy mounts until then. Enjoy.

Fortunately, you now get full reputation for all quests, regardless of your level, so it's possible to grind quests first. I have a lvl 37 blood elf with 5300/21000 now. And no, I will not buy that chicken. They'd have to throw it after me, and I'd still give it to KFC.

Mobs in BRS drop Runecloth very often, can be worth to go there to farm runecloth. did lbrs and ubrs with my lvl 70 pally for onyxia pre q just for fun, and got over 100 stacks of runecloth

Sadly my BE will not be able to get a different mount as stated previously by other posters. I did some (possibly faulty) math and have come up with the likely hood of reaching 17,600/21,000 with the Darkspear Trolls by the time I can start turning in Runecloth.

If that is right (and it could be wrong quite easily), then I found that I will have to turn in 782.22 (or 783) stacks of Runecloth to reach Exalted...iassuming I don't miss any quests before then.

If someone could check my math, that would be great, as I'm not too keen on riding a chicken...at least, not until I have a real mount, first.

Hy I got this mission at lvl 55 and farmed runecloth in Winterspring.
Simply when you go through the Fulborg tunnel just turn left and Kill Winterpaw:Totemic's
and Winterpaw Pathfinders might as well get the quest:
Threat on Winterfall these mob's are needed at the quest kind'a good drop every 2nd mob drops 2. If your here collect their Winterfall Spirit Beads they drop 150 reputation to Timbermaw hold which is good because the mobs drop a Totem that can be turned in for quite a lot of Xp at Neutral so just collect the beads while doing the quest and you'll get neutral in no time. The xp reward for Runecloth is quite good I lvled 2 levels and got the last level (58) full rested so it is a good quest Good Farming! (Blackrock depths is also a good drop part)

I am AE grinding in dalson's tears and racking up huge stacks of rune cloth. at 41 I had my undead mount, now working on both org and DST rep for their mounts. I have made about 50 stacks of rune cloth in the last two levels.

It seems you need to complete the donation of wool quest http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=7820 first to make this quest appear. It's happened to me, because back then i skip the wool quest in Orgrimmar, and now, when i tried to turn the Donation of Runecloth quest, its not available. Tried in different city (Silvermoon City) and it's available. (correct me if i wrong)

I went to all the major cities for the Horde at 80, and I can't see the Runecloth Donation quest, I'm at the right NPC and everything, am I missing something that I was supposed to do to unlock the turn-in or something?

Friendly to Exalted using only cloth turn-ins

Once unlocked, the repeatable Runecloth donation quests reward 75 rep for 1 stack of Runecloth.

6000 (Friendly) 80 turn-ins
12000 (Honored) 160 turn-ins
21000 (Exalted) 280 turn-ins

39000 total rep needed (520 turn-ins)

The initial cloth quests reward 350 rep each

-350 (60 Wool Cloth)
-350 (60 Silk Cloth)
-350 (60 Mageweave Cloth)
-350 (60 Runecloth)

That knocks 1400 rep off (~18 turn-ins)

So that's a total of 502 stacks of Runecloth

In summary, to level from Friendly to Exalted using only cloth quests, you will need the following mats:

Wool Cloth * 3 stacks
Silk Cloth * 3 stacks
Mageweave Cloth * 3 stacks
Runecloth * 505 stacks

The repeatable quest you get after completing this one is called Additional Runecloth and as stated above awards 75 rep per stack of 20.
