I found that I could do the quest more easily as a druid because I could "prowl" and walked to the water to do the 'investigate the cave' part of the quest. Then I killed a few mob at the front of the cave and mined the crystals there. The crystals 'respawn' quite quickly and I got all 10 just at the entrance to the cave without having to kill more than 10 mobs. I found that I could not effectively pull the mob without having the entire cave swarm around me.

the crystals are on a very fast respawn timer. so you really don't need to hunt them down. just stick to the ones in the area you are most comfortable with. in fact if not for the investigating part, you wouldn't even need to go to the water.

(62, 91) may be the coords for the cave itself but the confusion lies in getting there.

There's a path off the main road beside a signpost at approximately (67,86). Follow it back to the actual coordinates of the cave entrance.

Be careful not to aggro anything after you unstealth, will usually end bad.

Really easy quest, of course, as a level 27 Warrior (Fury) considering they are 10 levels lower. Just avoid the geomancers when the cast rain of fire. Try not to agro to many. To get the exploration credit just continue up the ramp until you see the pond in the cavern. I got about five Resonite Crystals by the time I got their but when I looked back almost all of them respawned. So don't worry about having enough crystals for you.

Quite a weird stuff happened as I tried to solo this quest on my lvl 24 Afflock: just before entering Boulderslide Ravine itself while coming from Sunrock Retreat, I entered combat mode with an invisible Night Elf Sentinel, "visibly" an Elite, and was killed twice before I decided to endure Rez sickness. I've seen this on other forums, but it seems to have happened only recently. Any idea/news/tips about this, anyone?

Entering the cave, you will see corridors on the left and right. The crystals all respawn extremely quickly, probably faster than any place else in the WoW universe. You can run back and forth and quickly get all ten crystals but remember you have to go forward far enough to trigger the exploration portion of the quest. To do that, you do NOT have to penetrate as far as the pool. Slightly short of it is enough. If you go directly for the exploration, you will probably get all the crystals in the corridor to have respawned and you'll be done. Watch for kobolds mining the crystals - if they hit it, even if it is still there after you kill them, it is likely that you will not get anything from it.

Southeast of here lies a deep cave in Boulderslide Ravine. The kobolds there are frantically mining a rare crystal called Resonite. I need you to bring back some ore samples so that I can understand what's happening in that cave. I also need you to investigate the depth of that cave.

Go young <class>, it's imperative I know what evil lurks under these mountains.
