Follow the river out to the cliff waterfall, either jump from there into the water or travel south to the path down. The chest is at the base of the waterfall. There is a lvl 48 elite turtle that frequents the area so becareful.

Those turtles are not very frequent in the area as one will go up and down the coast very slowly, hes actually part of a quest later

If you move your mouse over the mob and checking the box that comes up and seeing if it says elite in it is another way to figure out if it's elite.

The Turtle Used to be Elite....after patch 2.3 it is a non-elite 48 turtle.So do not worry

Actually Gammerita is no longer elite, i killed her earlier today doing a quest where you have to take a picture of her, the turtles are passive, they do not attack unless you attack them first if i'm not mistaken

yah Gammerita is no longer elite, so this quest has become much much easier

chest is at the bottom of the waterfall, no problem finishing, easy as hell without the elite stats =-Þ

Got it. The first part is in The Swamp of Sorrows...careful of the Orcs, but it is easy to find.

I completed this quest as lvl 47 Warlock. Ran into two hostile turtles along the way; Gammerita(48) and Ironback(51) but was not hard at all even though is was listed as such. The chest is located at the base of the falls underwater. Ironback and a few of his buddies are swimming around where it lies.

I suggest picking up the Whiskey bottle quest from SV to go with this one as well. The bottles are along the same stretch of beach.

The quest says to go to Lordaeron, but the item is NOWHERE NEAR LORDAERON (aka Undercity). It's at the base of the OVERLOOK CLIFFS waterfall east of Aerie Peak on the ocean. You can go around on the road and come up the grassy beach, fighting lvl 50 turtles all the way, or do what my friend and I did: Jump off the Overlook Cliff into the ocean, turn around, and swim 10 yards to the box. No elite turtle was there to meet us and we weren't harassed. Easy in, Easy out, even for a 38 mage.

Quest turned gray for me at 60 (if not earlier, didn't notice exactly), not 62 as Wowhead suggests.

This quest is marked as deleted, but I was able to pick it up on 12-1-10 (patch 4.0.3a) as usual in Dustwallow Marsh. I was surprised, as I had checked for the Swamp of Sorrows version already post-breaking and it was not available. I haven't done any of the prior quests since 4.0.

Bizarre--I went to bed and signed back on the next day, and the quest is no longer in my log.
