This quest is impossible to solo, even as a hunter. You will need 4-5 lvl 40+ to do this quest, Mai'zoth is located in the last room in the cave, he got 1 guard. The tactic is easy just MC or sheep the guard and kill Mai'zoth, kill the guard after.

he is deep inside the cave. Cords are 52,27. Did it pretty fast with a 52 warrior (me) and a very kind 62 warrior who helped me alot.

Solo'd as a 45 mage, Sheeped one of his bodyguards, brought the other down asap then ran my ass outta the cave until out of combat, started again, sheeped his last bodyguard, killed Mai'zoth ASAP

As of 2.3 this isn't flagged as a Group quest.

Mai'Zoth isn't Elite, but he has quite a posse of helpers surrounding him. Did it with two paladins (48 and 45) and it was a near-run thing because we pretty well stumbled into the whole mess, so...bringing friends is still a good idea.

Isn't flagged anymore as Group quest idd, and I risked to solo it as a 43 frost mage.

First time I got killed quite fast, the sheep resisted, my ice barrier failed immediatly , ... no chance.

Scnd time I sheeped again his 45 Lord and focused immediatly on the spellcaster. At that moment, Mai'Zoth wasn't pulled at all .. he didn't move .. he didn't aggro. So i continued blasting the spellcaster down.. afterwards I waited for my mana to regain a bit and sheeped the Lord again. Then I fully attacked Mai'Zoth who went down quite easy tbh. Had some crits so .. mayb lucky. When the Lord came out of sheep I had regained plenty of Mana and Hp to finish him off.

Guess I was lucky, or maybe this is a good way of handling :)

solo'd as a 44 blood elf shadow priest...not too easy, I died a couple times but eventually got it done alone.

Soloed as 44 undead shadowpriest.

Shadow form, full buffed (innerfire, touch of weakness, powf). Dot Mai'Loth with Devouring plague and Shadow word : Pain, shielded mind blast, mind flay, (go close to the caster, so you can mass fear them all) , reshield, mindflay, mind blast - shield , loot and run out!

Just ignore the two adds (the spellcaster and the lord), nuke Mai'Loth and run the hell out of there...

Gave this a shot as a 48 Shaman (Enhance).

Basically kept purging the casters shield off as i worked them down first, and had a Stoneclaw and a Grounding totem up as much as possible.

Ended up them all dead, and myself on 30% health, Not too tough.

soloed as a 43 prot pally, first try killed mage and mai'zoth and looted then died from the big guy, it's a bit difficult but soloing is definitly plausible

It might have been bugged or something, but when I pulled Mai'Zoth, only him and one of his guards came (the one on the left). I was easily able to solo him as a 46 Druid and on previous attempts when I would rush in, I would get all three of them on me.

All three pulled for me. Couldn't do this as 45 druid. Coming back at 46, might do it with a ghost run.

Solo'd as a 43 Assassination rogue,

Started out with a distract, sapped one of the guards, blinded the other.

Cranked cold blood and ambushed Mai'Zoth, burned him down as quickly as possible and vanished.

Quest complete.

i soloed it as 44 rogue, sapped 1 and then garrote on Mai'Zoth, remember to use evasion and healing pots should be good to have, but ididn't use, after Mai'Zoth was dead i looted him fast then vanish ;) had 800 of 2300 hp left when i used vanish ;)

Solo'd as 43 fire mage. Clearing the cave was simple, and then at the end I just targeted the boss and killed him, while the left guard attacked me. The right guard didn't pull aggro. I looted then froze the guard attacking me, used a healing potion, killed him, and ran out. =] simple enough! Good luck!

Solo'ed as 47 enhance shaman. He is in the back of the cave, with two maulers near the entrance to his 'room' and then two lords nearby. Should be able to get to him easily without pulling too many on you. Then pull the guards with a LB, and go after Mai'Zoth with everything ya got. Then just astral recall yourself back to Grom'gol or Booty Bay, or wherever and proceed to the camp.

I just soloed it with a level 45 Tauren Druid. I got just close enough to the body guards to cast Wraith on one, which brought them away from the Boss. I used Dire Bear form and easily dispatched each of them, then went after the boss.... it didn't seem like a level 46 quest.

When i saw ur comments i almost cried (because it sounded so difficult lol)
Anyway i soloed it as a lvl 44 BM hunter no problems. All i did was nuke Mai'zoth and in the mean time i multi shotted and trapped the lord. Then when Mai'zoth was downed ( which took literally 3 seconds) i took the caster and then the trapped lord. Just for the record i didn't have any twink gear or anything.

Solo'd this quest as a 44 ret pali with little to know trouble. had to bubble and heal and drop lay on hands for the last three mobs but other than that i had absolutely no trouble :)

this guy is level 48 non elite. Don't try to solo him as a lvl 44 pally cuz i tryed and he got me to half HP in one shot plus his guards dont help either. If your going to down this dude below lvl 48 then i suggest get a group or a higher level to help you or you will die.

I did this as a 45 holy pally with no problem. Just concentrate on the caster first, then the melee add and then Mai.

I did pop lifeblood once, but I had little trouble. Arcane torment helped to draw the caster into consecration.

I easily solod it as a 42 UD rogue just did evasion, killed Mai'Zoth, and vanished.

The mind's eye quest is not as difficult as it was painted on previous comments. I am a Mage lvl 45 and did the quest with no problems. It is true that he has two bodyguards, one caster and one melee... he is a caster himself. If you pull the caster first, you will have to fight only the bodyguards then you can kill him easily. As a mage I sugest that you polymorph the caster first and kill the melee mob. Easy as cake. Coord are correct

I did it with a lvl 45 hunter solo, kill outside caster first, then sent pet in and range attacked 2nd caster, then finished the rest

Solo'd this as lvl 43 aflliction warlock. Drain tanking all the way with a few dots on all the mobs and move out of the flame stuff. maybe have a heartstone ready just in case.
Was full BoA geared and random greens.

Soloed today as a lvl 41 arms warrior, quest gear only incl. whirlwind axe and lvl 25 food.

You can actually pull his adds first by shooting from a long range when they are hardly visible behind the rocks.

Rend, Retaliate and spam overpower+slam

Adds are harder then the actual boss.

It leads on to a second quest called "Saving Yenniku".

There's no bodyguards, and its easily solo'd. I did this quest on my lvl 32 paladin, easily. I don't know if it was challenging before any patch updates or not. Also, I was able to obtain and complete this quest, so it's not obsolete.

Soloed as a 32 paladin, in and out in under five minutes. :/ I read the other comments and got antsy, but it's no biggy. As long as you don't aggro them all at once, you ought to be fine.

According the notation at the top of this page, it claims this quest has been declared obsolete by Blizzard, yet I completed it today 1/3/13. Thank you to past posters for accurate leads to completing the quest!

The top of the screen states that this maybe removed, as of today the quest can be received from Livingston Marshal, and the Mind's eye does drop from Mai'Zoth. I completed this with no issues.

I know that it says that this quest is marked obsolete by Blizzard and cannot be obtained or completed, but I just did this quest so perhaps this information is old.

Descrizione

The Mind's Eye is held by an ogre mage, east of here and deep within the Mosh'Ogg ogre mound. His name is Mai'Zoth. I know him from when the Darkspears dwelt in Stranglethorn - he is vicious, and his magic is strong.

And if he has the Mind's Eye, then his magic will be stronger still.

You must face Mai'Zoth and wrest from him the Mind's Eye. It is a perilous task, but it is the only hope we have of saving Yenniku.
