Under normal circumstances, this quest is relatively easy. Just go to Shadowprey Village, jump in the ocean and check the shellfish traps. Once you have 10 shellfish, you can turn them in to Jinar'Zillen on the dock (in lots of five) to get your two fish.

However, recently several websites/forums have mentioned that the shellfish traps are good to farm, as they have a chance of dropping the Big Iron Fishing Pole. On some servers, that pole sells for upwards of 10g on the AH. Also, turning in shellfish yields about 55s for every 5 you turn in. As such, the shellfish traps are usually camped hardcore, making it difficult to finish the quest, depending on your server.

You need to open a minimum of five traps to complete the quest (and that's with great luck, as the traps sometimes yield vendor trash or even nothing). Good luck.

To get the bloodbelly fish, you have to talk to Jinar'Zillen on the dock at Shadowprey village. He will tell you that you need to swap 5 shellfish for every one bloodbelly fish. These shellfish are located in the traps under the sea near the docks (some are quite further away), however the traps can contain other things such as clothing items or a sea creature (drop rate of shellfish from the traps is about 30%, however, the traps usually drop more than 1 at a time).
It'll be a good item to do this quest with a warlock who can bless you with unending breath which lasts 10 mins.

the drop rate of quest item is really low ... so u must have nervs and warlock buff or underwater breahting potion

Ya the drop rate is low, and about farming the Big Iron Fishing Pole, I got one after about 10 cages. Still had 2 more shellfish to go before I could complete my quest. So if you're lucky you might bank on a pole :)

Didn't realize you only got one fish per five shellfish. This was an easy quest with my druid and his sea lion form. Air bubbles, what are air bubbles?... :P

what do you guys mean this is a low drop rate quest out of the 6 i looted 4 droped 2 shellfish. very very easy quest.

Your best bet, if you're not a druid?

Elixir of Waterbreathing. Sells for maybe 50s on the auction house. I had one, got all my fish, was done in 15 min without ever breaking the surface.

Anyone else have an issue with not being able to complete this quest? When I walk up to Jinar'Zillen, there is no yellow "?". There is a quest that he offers but it is greyed out (low level).

Dont be stupid like me. Quest is not Repeat-able.
So dont think you can get more then 3 mithril ore.
!@#$ and i spent the time to get 30 Shellfish!

Note after you get the Shellfish you have to talk to Jinar'Zellin and accept the the quest Fish in a Bucket.

Jinar didn't have a yellow exclamation point above his head because that quest, for me, was low-level.

This quest is an ok quest. It takes a while to find the shellfish and there are a lot of other fish arouns that will own you whenever you get the chance..

i did this as a 35 druid and it took me a while cuz if there is nothing in one of the traps a fish will come out and atk you so look out for that

If you go i bit far out to the ocean just look for the cages where like 2 mobs are search in there and there should be a Big iron fishing pole if your lucky

What can be very useful in this quest is if you have the addon from curse called "gatherer", because it'll mark the locations where you have previously found these shellfish traps, which then makes it easier to just go around and check them over and over and over again without having to scour the ocean floor. =P

This quest is completely stupid for those without swim speed buffs, took me forever cuz all i got out of the traps were the dam lobsters that atk me, cant wait til they redo this terrible zone in the Cata exp. i just handed in the quest....I swim around getting shellfish just for 2 pieces of fish for this lazy azz cow and all he gives me is 150 rep? Thats it, im gonna go kill him on my alliance. End rant

The Bloodbelly Fish dissapear from my bags if I dont go hand in the quest .. twice now i got the 2 bloodbelly fish and had to log off .. when i came back they were gone from my bags.

The smell of cooked fish has long been missing here at Ghost Walker Post. The trolls at Shadowprey Village are the best at catching fish... but alas, with all the centaur activities I have little time to make a journey to the trolls. Hrm...

Do me a favor and journey to Shadowprey Village. Talk to the local fisherman Jinar'Zillen and bring me back my favorite, Bloodbelly fish. The road south of here will take you west to the troll village.
