I found some Starving Mountain Lions around 53.30. They were 23-24.
Even more surrounding the hill at 40.40.

Absolutely horrid drop rate on this item. I levelled my 22 druid through to almost 24 just killing lions to get enough of this to drop.

I had quite a good drop rate seeing as this is WoW; 2/5. I found all of the lions needed to be killed between Tarren Mill, Southshore and The farms.

I believe the boots are messed up. The increased damage and healing is not on equip but rather on Use. I chose these and tried to "use" the increased stats and it isn't possible. Hopefully they fix this.

The droprate is not that bad,you get a blood for like every 4 lions but the real problem is that there are like 5 or 6 23/24 lvl mountain lions in hillsbrad.You will find some near the road leading to Tarren Mill from the South,some are in the front of the yeti cave and i found like 3 near Hillsbrad Fields,at the hill East of it.Good luck!

The drop rate is horrible! I am at 32 killed and only have 2 samples.

Horrible quest with a horrible droprate, killed probably 50 to jutst get the 10 I needed, I suggest doing it as you run back and forth for the battle of hillsbrad quests

When I started this quest I had 8 bars left until I leveled... but the drop rate was so low that by the time I finished I leveled again. It was ridiculous!!!

But yes. The mountain lions around Tarren Mill is the best place to do this quest. 22-24 level mt. lions.

I found a good number of starving mountain lions (L23/24) between Tarren Mill and the Foothills.
At first, my droprate was horrible as well, but once I started to use more bleeding attacks (I'm a feral druid), I did notice an increase in the blood drops. The first 4 took me over an hour, the last 6 I got in 5 minutes. Might be luck or coincidence tho.

These lions are a medical anomaly. They apparently don't have any blood. I wonder if they should be classified as undead rather than beasts.

1/16. That was the whole field between Hillsbrad Fields & Tarren Mill.

I wouldn't want any quest to be TOO easy, but this is kind of ridiculous.

Seem like the droprate has been changed to 100% or at least close somewhere in a patch around WotLK (same thing with the Elixir of Suffering quest with bear tongues etc). Have done this quest on countless amounts of toons, before the droprate was always low, most of the times I had to wait for respawns.

I killed the level 24 lions by Darrow Hill and had a 100% drop rate. I was a lvl 21 Warlock.

I found starving mountain lions just north of southshore. They also drop Blood for the quest. Just watch out for allys if you are horde on pvp server like i am.

As much as I would love to sit and brood all day, my duty to the Dark Lady calls. Help me, would you? My research leads me to believe I can make the most splendid death-brew with the blood of a Mountain Lion. Bring some to me and we'll have a little fun.
