One of the orcs is in the keep and another one lis located inside those houses below the bridge. If you looking at Durnhold from the front of it, it's on the left side for the one located inside the house.

The premise of this quest is simple. Free two orcs from imprisonment. To complete this task, you must find four key personnel.

Drull, an Orc that you need to free.
Tog'thar, another Orc that you need to free.
Jailor Eston, drops the necessary Dull Iron Key, used to free Drull.
Jailor Marlgen, drops the necessary Burnished Gold Key, used to free Tog'thar.

First, a note on freeing the Orcs. On occasion, using the key on the Locked Ball and Chain will produce a "Failure!" message. If this happens, don't worry. Just keep using it. It appears that the mechanic emulates the lockpicking mechanic, so this is pretty much expected. I cannot confirm that these can be lockpicked, but others on this page claim it can be, at ~100 skill.

I would also reccomend going to Tog'thar first, as one of the spawns for Jailor Eston is nearby, and dropping down to Drull when the jailor is up near Tog'thar achives little more than a need to slaughter your way back up. Not that a slaughter is a bad thing, mind you.

The Orcs are static spawns. The Jailors, however, have been switched to dynamic spawns. Each have a set of potential spots in which they may spawn. WoWHead claims three, but I've only seen them each at two. I slaughtered the poor fellows for a good hour, so I feel that these two are accurate.

Finding Drull:
To find Drull, enter Durnholde Keep from the South. There will be a bridge in front of you. Jump the wall, right on the left side of the bridge. Be careful, however, as there are a few (Usually one or two, more if you have a pet and forget to dismiss it, as it will take the long way and bring some company.) mobs that likely will aggro when you do so. Face West, and directly ahead of you there should be two buildings. The closest one (which runs East to West, not North to South like the furthest one.) is your building of interest. Inside, at the far end, is Drull. Sometimes there's a Solid Chest next to him, too.

From Drull to Tog'thar:
To arrive at Tog'thar from Drull, exit the building that contains Drull via the doorway furthest from him, on the northern face of the building. Face East from the steps. Fight your way East, and under the bridge. Once you have passed under the bridge, follow the Northern wall until you come to a pair of steps leading up the wall. Take these steps. Once you reach the top, face Northwest, and you should see a road. Go to the road and travel along it to the South. You will eventually reach a "T"-Style intersection. Read on in the "Finding Tog'thar" section directly below from said intersection to find Tog'thar.

Finding Tog'thar:
To find Tog'thar, again enter Durnholde Keep from the South. This time cross the bridge and immediately turn to the East. Fight your way along this path until you reach a "T"-Style intersection. One path will head West and up, the other will head North, and slightly down. Take the Western path. A very short distance up this path, you will encounter the gate to the Keep itself, which is now destroyed. Fight your way through the arch. Tog'thar should be 25-30 yards north of you, easily visible.

As mentioned previously, finding the Orcs is good and all, but it's rather moot if you have no way to free them. Both of the jailors appear to have a spot very close to the Orc they're holding captive, and one that takes a bit of searching. Both are listed here.

Finding Jailor Esten:

Right in front of Drull. Just find Drull, and he'll be ~5 yards away.
Traverse to Tog'thar. Right before you reach the entrance to the Keep itself, there will be a small group of Syndicate henchmen near some trees. He can sometimes be found there.

Finding Jailor Marlgen:

Follow the directions to Tog'thar. However, once you reach the entrance to the Keep, do not enter, but continue along the path past the keep. Fight your way until you reach a defunct tower. He can often be found right in front of it.
Reach Tog'thar. When you pass thru the arch, he'll be right in front of you, slightly off to your right.

Congratulations! You've just committed a jailbreak! Revel in your self-worth and value to the Horde!

When I first got to drull, I didn't have the key. Got the key, came back ... and he was dead. I've been waiting for him to respawn for about 15 minutes. He hasn't respawned yet.

Drull is at 75, 41

For me: Jailor Easton was at 79, 41 (He has multiple spawn points so he may not be here) and before I got back to Drull he had respawned next to him.

Tog'thar is at 79, 39

For me: Jailor Marlgen was at 79, 40 (May have multiple spawn points as well)

All I'd like to add is...I believe this quest is bugged.

When they Mind control'd me - After I had got off all my DoT's and pet on them, I ended up killing the jailer and un-able to loot.

As in when they Mind control you, and DoT's/pet tick through, it dosen't consider you where the killer, hence you don't get the loot.

Useful tips! For me the first jailor was actually up by the ruined keep, close to the second one. Another tip is that there is a tree resting against the wall, at the end of the courtyard where Drull is. If you are careful you can run up this tree onto the wall, then along the wall back to the bridge and so get from there up to the ruined keep without going past so many Syndicate staff. Likewise in reverse if you need to come back to Drull, as I did.

Actually it isn't bugged, they just spawn at random places. It was at first for me the jailer corresponding to the other was at the others area. When I finnaly did it. Jailer Marlgen was at 77,40 and Jailer Easton at 79,40

Be careful about where you fight the jailers, their can mind control you into surrounding mobs, or in my case, into a glitch which causes you to fall through the world. The glitch is right behind the house containing Drull, on the edge of the wall column.

I just started a mage alt and I'm quite frustrated by this quest. I don't recall it at all from any other character, so they must've just added it: Jailor Eston has an instant-cast Enslave charm. He'll cast it on you after just a couple hits and run back into his hut, and just sit there doing nothing for the duration of the enslave. Once it's up though, he'll be at 100% health and you'll aggro all three mobs in the hut, ensuring nearly instant death. If this wasn't annoying enough, it appears this Enslave (which is a charm as indicated by its tooltip) isn't broken by Will of the Forsaken. You simply get a message that you cannot use it while charmed (WTF?).

Go the long way. Take the front door and clear all the mobs except the Jailor before you fight him, or you won't be able to finish him.

Tip to find the Jailor's, Drull and Tog'Thar;

invite a friend into your group
convert the group into a raid
use the Marks!

by using /target *name of mob* and then gave it a star as raid icon, i could easily locate all the jailor's

Fun trick for shamans against jailor Eston, if you can't solo pull them you can drop a stoneclaw totem and they will charm you, once your totem dies you will heal 100% like a mob does after it loses aggro

rom what iv'e seen, in 2.4.2 i beleive they have changed the spawn locataion to near the orc they hold the key for, and don't wander around too much, so should be a much easier quest to peform.

The Mobs that drop the Key needed to unlock the lock are (I Found) to be bascially right next to Drull or Tog'thar, but im not 100% sure this is the same everytime, but im pretty sure it is

Ok, I was a rogue when I did this, and yes you ARE able to lockpick the ball and chain thing on them, so that can save the trouble of finding the jailors.

Dismiss your pet before engaging Jailor Eston. He casts mind control on you and you will not be able to loot him (as the game assumes your PET got credit for the kill).

I was able to solo this quest as a lvl 23 pally. Weird thing was almost every enemy was glitched so I kept dying.

I am a 22 belf lock and Eston was quite interesting to battle-he mind controlled me and then my void took the aggro.After that I stood around for like 5-10 sec looking at my void and Eston used my AoE silence effect...and then died...amusing

I found both Jailors up near Tog'thar. I killed Eston first, got the key, ran up towards Tog'thar (Where Marlgen was). Slaughtered Marlgen, freed Tog'thar, went out of the building and Eston was respawned. The spawning rate sure has ben increased ;P

Ok I'm trying to do this now and am level 27 so dying isnt a problem but finding Drull. I've been where everyone said and he isn't there. Now killing poor defenseless humans is only fun for so long. There was a server re-start while I was doing this. I dunno if that made a differance or not but if any one knows of mulitple locations for Drull then please lemme no. Thank you all.

I saw Tog'thar and behind him was a merchant, so I went to talk to him. I jumped off the building and couldn't jump back up so I was running around trying to get up. If you happen to do the same thing, Go to the right if you are facing the front of the merchant, because there is a hill you can jump onto the ledge on the wall, then get back up.

When facing Tog'thar I went to the left and up the hill. I found Jailor Marlgen there with 2 adds. I'm a rogue, so I sapped one, and pulled Marlgen so I wouldn't aggro the other guy. Killed Marlgen, then vanished, waiting till I was at full health, looted him and killed the rest.

Confirmed at lock picking 105 (No clue of the minimum needed) that you can in fact lock pick the chains and free them. So any Rogues who don't feel like trying to hunt down the guys if they aren't spawning. Just lock pick it for an easy quest.

i couldn't get past jailer easton's mind control. he made me shoot my succubus. if he's standing near someone solo warlocks are screwed. i can't fear anyone either bc they'll run all over the place then 5 or 6 are chasing me etc.

I was able to get both keys from near Tog'thar.

Rogues, when you do Drull, use the BACK entrance. Stealth your way in through the back, sap the closest guard. unlock the chain. You can probably do it without being detected. If you are, you should unlock Drull before the closest mob gets to you, then vanish. Easy.

ok for all warlocks/hunters having trouble with jailor eston's enslave cast, here is a quick strat that you can use.

- First target the npc in the building farthest away from Drull.

- Send your pet after him from outside

- Go in after he gets aggro and stand near Drull

- Because his enslave has a 15yd range you will not be affected from it.

pretty easy quest to do on my lvl 20 ret (what few points i had) pally. the shadow mages were quite annoying seeing as i had to los them. only died once when i pulled one of the jailors and 2 watchmen.

btw... i had to wowhead this quest (thanks for all the tips) and needed a safe place to alt+tab. i dropped down below the ledge right behind tog'thar and low and behold there was a friendly repair npc. so for all of you who died over and over again and more than likely needed to repair...there you go!

This quest is level 22, which is a bit low. You will need to fight some level 24 NPCs. Unless your a hunter (silly OP pet) I do not recommend this quest at any lower level than than 22. The place is aggro hell, and the NPCs hurt (especially the casters). There is little room to sneak around and if you die expect to corpse run a few times unless you die in a safe spot. You're also dealing with wimpy humans here, so they will run and bring back a whole party.

I was able to finish this quest as a Level 59 death knight without a Dull Iron Key... I'm pretty sure that's not supposed to happen, though I couldn't find Eston anywhere in the entireity of Durnholde Keep besides.

Apparently both Drull and Tog'thar now suffer from "Durnholde Syndrome" after being held prisoners there for six years.

Nils Beerot will ask them the following question:

Nils Beerot: It has now been six weeks since your release. Are you ready to have the shackles removed?

These are some of the responses they give:

Drull says: You know, when I was first captured I hated Teddy. He dug into my skin and prevented me from moving around freely. But let me tell you something, Doc; after six years with the guy I can honestly say that I have feelings for him.

Tog'thar says: And we don't appreciate you referring to our friends as a 'ball and chain,' doc.

Drull says: What I want to know is this: WHY DO YOU CARE IF I HAVE A BALL AND CHAIN SHACKLED TO MY ANKLE?

Tog'thar says: I'd go back if I could. I had a life in Durnholde. Towards the end there I was beaten maybe once a week at MOST.

To which Nils will respond:

Nils Beerot says: My official diagnosis is that you are both idiots! IDIOTS I SAY!

Descrizione

Me and some other warriors were sent by the Warchief to retrieve an object from Durnholde and to investigate this so-called Syndicate.

We went to Durnholde to take a look around, but we were taken by surprise by a large number of the humans. We fought bravely, but their sheer numbers were enough to defeat us. They took a few of us captive, but I was able to escape.

Durnholde is just southeast of here, across the river. Drull and Tog'thar are being held there, you must go and rescue them.
