You can do both the freezing and the collecting in one instance - when you are done make the raid leader make you the leader of the raid (or just wait for everyone to leave) then run out, hand in, run back. wont be reset. best to do as a rogue in case of spawns... or a hunter, but if the UBRS run was fast you shouldn't have spawns anyway.

The item for this quest DOES NOT BIND. It is not considered a quest item nor is it BoP. I found this very interesting.

Since the Eggscilloscope Prototype is not considered a quest item, it will not be destroyed if you abandon the quest. However it is unique, so it will also not be re-given to you if you already have it and you re-accept the quest. So do not be an idiot like me and leave the thing in your bank when fly to Burning Steppes! There is no other way to reacquire the item locally, you will have to go back to a capital. And you will feel stupid.

Just completed this and it seems to had its rep reward buffed as i received 500 with each of the cartel.
I was revered with them all at the time of turn in

[<name>, I've been working hard on a new device, the eggscilloscope! It's designed to project a burst of cold energy at the egg of a black dragon... and freeze it solid! Can you test it for me?

I heard that high up in Blackrock Spire, the dragons have a rookery where they hatch their eggs. That's where you'll have to go to test the eggscilloscope, and then let me know how it worked!

And don't worry. Frozen dragon eggs should be harmless. It's the unfrozen ones you have to worry about!]
