Can also be soloed by a 70 night elf hunter (don't think spec matters much, but I was marksman at the time), you can probably get by with out shadowmeld but it just makes the whole process easier.

I solod as a 62 druid, what you can do is go into the back corner of the worg room and use the item since theyre all grey and wont aggro. Plus, the elite mob doesnt aggro you, so you can catch the worg, and then cast barkskin and tele moonglade/hearth :)

One thing to keep in mind is you can use the pup cage even if you're in combat. On several occasions in LBRS, the pups have aggroed the groups I was with while fighting that orc pack near their niche. If that happens and you're on this quest, just target one of the pups and activate the cage. You'll take out an add and complete your quest all in one go.

I did this as a 70 hunter and only had to kill 4 mobs after I jumped down where the tents are. I dismissed my pet for the rest of the run and feigned anytime I got aggro (like right before the spiders, right after I captured the pup, etc). Totally easy - took me like 15 minutes - Great guide linked above with excellent pictorials.

This is easily soloable, along with the other Kibler's Pets quest, at 70 without Invisibility Pots or deaths, but it is helpful to then have FD,

Solo'd as a 70BE Holy Priest

Follow the guide above and bring some invis pots. You can mind soothe your way through most of the instance.

Use the invis pots when you get to the spiders. Make sure to get to the girders above before your invis pot wears off. There is a spider pat up there, but should be soloable by a 70.

Don't forget to get http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=4862 as well 'cause you will run into plenty of eggs to loot. Holy nova would have been nice for the eggs that released the spiders as single target killing them sucks.

Really cool to get these pets as a Blood Elf, as most BE's skipped LBRS entirely.

Oh, forgot one thing. You will have to wait until the invis pot CD is up to get through the next pack of spiders after you get on the girders as there is no way around them.

I was able to solo this quest as a 70 affliction lock in prekara gear in order to get this pet and the Smolderweb Hatchling http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=10598#summoned-by . Might as well get em both while you are there. You need to pass through the spiders in order to get to the worg pups anyway. The quest simply has you collect spider eggs in order to get the Smolderweb Hatchling spider pet. :)

This is a great sight for any pet-oholic by the way. http://www.warcraftpets.com/ Lots of information on how to get any pet in the game. You can even set up a profile and track your pets.

Anyway,
At level 70, I was able to simply walk past the majority of the orcs while following the guide above. A little patience is needed. There was only one group of orcs that I needed to kill. And it was the last group just before the spiders. There were five of them. I put my voidwalker on them and threw out a few seeds of corruption and a dot here and there and was able to take them down. The worst part (and I died a few times here as well) was the spiders. They hit hard. 2 Seeds of Corruption finished off the little nonelite guys pretty easily. It was impossible for me to simply walk past them. As others have stated above, it's probably possible to walk by them with an invisibility potion. But i didn't have any. So it's not necessary if you don't mind dieing a few times or are able to kill them on your own.

Smooth sailing from there. Even standing in the door way to the pup room did not cause me to grab aggro from the 3 very close orcs standing behind me! :)

Very easy to solo as a Rogue. The guide is still on par with a minor change. When you drop onto the steel rim from the cliffs (dropping into the hallway with the stream of Orcs just before you reach the spiders), there are now (or maybe there always were) two patrols. Druids might have more of a problem since they don't have sap, but for a Rogue with Dirty Tricks, simply wait until the two-Orc patrol has walked you and to your left, meaning that the one-man patrol is at the other end of the hall and probably about to head back your way. Head on out and just sap the Roamer and/or Patrol if either of them gets close to you.

Aside from that small difference, the guide was spot on. As a Lv56 Rogue, I managed to solo it without a single death. There's one other thing to note, though. The range for the carrier is fairly small, so odds are you'll definitely aggro all the pups and Halycon when you try to cage one. While the guide is right about stealth not dropping until you've caught the pup, this only applies if the pup is far enough away that it can't attack you while you're capturing. The moment the pup attacks you for trying to capture it, your stealth drops. For me, this was about half way through. The first time, I got spooked and popped Vanish. It was unnecessary, but I wasn't expecting them all to aggro, so I got jittery. Just keep on it and then pop Vanish once the Worg Pup is in the cage. Voila! All in all, it's incredibly simple, especially for a Subtlety Talented Rogue.

Also, when completed at Lv56, the quest nets 13,950 EXP. Well worth it for about 10 minutes spent stalking around through LBRS.

Second, it probably helps to have a pair of Nightscape Boots, whether you have MoD or not. Every little bit helps. Also remember that using Vanish will give you improved Stealth for 10 seconds. If you need that little extra boost of Stealthyness, just pop Vanish and carry on.

Good luck. The pet is definitely worth the effort, and the EXP is a sweet bonus.

Very simple as a lvl 70 Engineer Hunter :)

1) Head up to the platform with the guy that has the key quest (no problems with agro getting there at 70, unless you literally run through mobs).

2) Activate parachute cloak, then rocket boots launch yourself over the ogre's head's and land in the hallway.

3) Run into the worg room and fill up your carrier.

4) FD.

5) Lay a snake trap to get agro (or your pet I guess, I just used snakes) while you hearth out.

Took around 70 seconds start to finish.

My detailed directions.

Get into Lower Black Rock Spire (Quick Summary):
Head upward to the Meeting stone, enter the passage behind, go up and bear right the whole way.

Get to the Spiders (Quick Summary):
Enter instance, go up onto the bridge, turn right, and jump down. Just before the first wooden bridge, head right and look down (should see two red tents below you). Jump. Head right and wind your way through the mobs and tents until you see the spiders up an incline. (Watch for patrols in packed areas if alone.)

Get to the Worg Pups (Quick Summary):
After the spider area, keep moving forward. You'll see ogres. Bypass them by dashing around the corner (there's also an area you can jump up on to avoid running around the corner, but I can't remember where). Head straight (avoid the Spire Scorpids on your right) through the doorway, then turn right. Pups by the boss in the room at the end.

If you are soloing this at level 70, you might wanna do En-Ay-Es-Tee-Why while you are at it, because then you are probably a pet collector.
I did it on my level 70 mage, and it's doable.

At level 70 my prot pally had no trouble at all clearing out this instance solo. so getting the pets was easy as pie for me. I used to grind this instance solo for stuff to sell in the Auction house several times a week at least. i can manage pulls of upwards of 10 or more mobs at a time with ease and can usually pull whole rooms at a time in here.

mind you im not wearing any tier gear and just a few peices of kara gear so im sure there are much stronger characters than me that can do this even easier.

This is tricky,your level and class count towards this or if you are quick. get to where you can see the orge clan above Omokk and jump into the lava and swim straight towards the skeletons and the Unfired Plate Gauntlets then fight your way outta the orc camp and into the spider area,into the orges and up the path past the bugs.Take a right (kill some orcs to clear the way) and a big crack in the wall houses Halycon and her pups.Crate it and leave.

When you summon this pet it'l either be Brown or Black in Colour; the colour is random. Their colour palletes corrospond to the orcish wolf mounts.

One thing to be careful of when doing this at 80, the mobs die fast. I had to try this twice as the first time I ended up AOE killing all the pups before I realized they were the quest mob.

Dustfire's description and the few below correcting his, were extremely helpful. However some descriptions seem to make this sound easier than it is. For starters we are casual gamers with, a lvl 64 Holy Priest and a lvl 65 Shaman, and thought that if people were soloing at 64+ we should be ok. After all we sit in the same room right next to each other so there is no communication/ typing time or misunderstandings. Well to say it was difficult is putting it lightly! In the end (approximatly 4.5 hour later) we had taken off all our gear (it was all busted) and were gratful to have tabards so we werent naked!

As I said, the descriptions above were extremely helpful in finding the pups and saving us a lot of fights. There are a few things we would like to add though.

1) He says " Enter instance, go up onto the bridge, turn right, and jump down. Just before the first wooden bridge, head right and look down (should see two red tents below you). Jump." Well after you jump the first time continue left around the corner to a hall way than a larger room with some mobs...that is where the wooden bridge is located at.

2) He says " You'll see ogres. Bypass them by dashing around the corner (there's also an area you can jump up on to avoid running around the corner, but I can't remember where)." We found the area to jump up on. Its on the left wall, there is a sparse looking shrub thing that you can get up on. Than jump forward onto the wall (it may take a few tries) stay left Ogres close on the right.

3) And last but not DEFINANTLY NOT least.... He says "Pups by the boss in the room at the end." When we got here we saw the mobs at the end of the hallway and turned right into what seemed to be the room at the end. IT IS NOT! There are a lot of mobs in the room and if you make it through, some bosses. The room you are looking for is a Fissure or Crack in the wall at the end of the hall on the left (hard to see) you have to either fight the mobs or use a scare spell, run in the fissure throw the cage down, die and res at graveyard.

I hope this helps. The previous entrys were very helpful but a little misleading. I suggest a group of 3 or more if your below 70! Good luck!

get the quests from Kibler - sounds basic but finding Kibler was one of the most annoying bits of this process - he is in the cave behind Burning Steppes FP; I did not find the coordinates particularly helpful in this case & neither did the lev 80 DK I was running with - we both agreed that having the landmark makes it a pice of cake - or in this case, a piece of kibble. You have to kill a lot of spiders in BRS and click on egg sacks to collect 15 eggs for the NASTY quest - as long as you get 15 eggs you complete the quest, so if you die it's not the end of the world just really, really annoying. Someone with some decent AoE is very helpful in this area of BRS, like consecration, which I used liberally.
If you're in this for the pet (the only reason I wanted a spider) then you should snag the Exotic Pets quest from Kibler, too, and do the Worg puppy quest. I'd recommend you add the puppy cage to a hot key on your action bar to facilitate success - as soon as you enter the room with the worg puppies target any pup & use the cage to capture it - then you have to kill all the other worgs you've aggroed - plus the bigger elites if you're unlucky - again, if you get the puppy in the cage you succeed so you could die after you get the puppy. The puppy is great; he barks when you click on him & everything. The directions noted in the comments for the spider quest http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=4862 for getting to the spiders once in the instance & then on to the puppies is pretty accurate, too.

To solo as a Warrior is a PITA, but I did it in Tank Protection Spec at L70. One caveat, I used a Lesser Invisibility Potion to pass the Orc mobs in the alleyway below the Ogres. Otherwise, expect to be beaten like a baby harp seal of the 10-15 mobs that will pile on you. This part (along with the spiders) is by far the most difficult to bypass for a solo Warrior

Also, one note, pull the Orcs away from the entrance to the Worg den; otherwise, Haly engages in their defense along with all the pups. Once the Orc gaurds are out of the way, enter tight on the left side and make your move with the cage. All the pups pile on you, but Haly did not engage. Once you have a pup in the cage, again tightly leave the way you came with the pup mob in tow to the hallway before making minced meat of them.

FYI Kibler is a booty bay npc, which means if you went for your bloodsail title you will have to get your rep up with booty bay to neutral again. You can do that by doing http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=9259 quest fairly simple and easy to do.

I just soloed this as a 73 hunter.

Had to feign death once and revive my pet twice.

The worst part was definitely the spiders, but it is doable.

Make sure you have plenty of mana drinks if you use mana.

I did both this and the En-Ay-Es-Tee-Why with my level 57 Night Elf Druid.
Pretty simple, followed this guide but was not as careful as him, just ran here and there. Hard part was getting past spiders.

He says getting the pup will be hard as a druid, but I just HoT'ed up, stood in the corner, grabbed it, then all other pups attacked me, Shadowmeld.

After I ran back for En-Ay-Es-Tee-Why.
At 13 eggs a bunch of spiders hatched, tried Shadwomeld but it failed, so I started outhealing them as a Tree of Life with thorns. Didn't take that long and they were dead, then I grabbed last 2 eggs and HS'ed outta there, done with both pretty easily!

I just completed both pet related quests with a 76 Prot Warrior with a gearscore of just under 2k (bout 1800 i think so it doesn't take great gear for sure), nothing to worry about at all. Even at the spider part I split it up into 3 pulls & never dropped below 80-85%-ish health.
As stated above you do have to be careful if your up into the high 70's because with 2 (or maybe even just 1) cleave I killed off almost all the pups that I was supposed to be capturing :P. They aggro'd off the 3 Orc mobs that stand outside the door so if you intend to clear those mobs first I recommend pulling them away from the door if at all possible (I think one is a caster so you would need some kind of silence I guess). Definitely worth the trouble though, especially if you follow the guide that was linked early on.

Firstly, sorry about my english.
I wont say it was easy. It wasn't. But once you know what to do and where to go, it's possible to get through and solo it.

It's a rogue using Stealth to get through. Problem is, we're no Rogue, nor possess any Stealth ability.
So if you're lvl 60ish, Shaman, and went Enhancement, this is for you:

A - The tools
-The Empty Worg Pup Cage kindly offered by Kibler the quest giver.
-A handful of (minimum 4) Invisibility Potions or Lesser Invisibility Potions like i did if you cant afford them.
-Your Spirit Wolves.
-Your passive Reincarnation (convenient macro to keep track of the cooldown: #showtooltip Reincarnation)
-A handful of (minimum 2) Ankhs.
-A lot of Time, minimum 1 hour, 1 hour and half.
-A side activity, reading a book, chatting with friends, grabbing your PSP or cooking or whatever you feel like doing.
-And be absolutely sure your lil trip will not be interrupted by a Server Maintenance/Restart. If it happen, well... cry a little and get yourself a drink? :3

B - The lil trip to the den.
Screenie 01-1 - Once you have the quest(s) ready (Get En-Ay-Es-Tee-Why while you're at it), head to the Blackrock Mountain. The entrance is easily recognizable, theres a huge dwarf face decorating the wall.
Screenie 01-2 - Keep going until you reach the Molten Span and head Right.
Screenie 01-3 - When you see the meeting stone, turn Right again.
Screenie 01-4 - Keep going forward at the barricade, go up a slope.
Screenie 01-5 - Keep turning Right whenever the path gets divided in two.
Screenie 01-6 - You'll reach the entrance of the Instance.

Screenie 02-1 - First, a room with a few lvl 54 Elite Scarshield Legionnaires. You're lvl 60 so it shouldn't be a problem, be careful tho they're still Elites. Take care of those who are on the left while keeping an eye on the patrol circling around. Go up the stairs and turn Right to reach a dead end. Safe spot.

Screenie 03-1 - From there you should see a patrol of 2 mobs, with a group of 6 mobs. The patrol should disappear for a few seconds under you through a doorway. Run in a beeline to the doorway you see on the left in front of the 6 mobs, trying not to agro them. You might agro them tho, but it's fine.
Screenie 03-2 - As soon as you exit the tunnel, turn staight Right
Screenie 03-3 - and jump off the edge to land in a small platform. Wait there for a while, the orcs should give up on trying to kill you. Safe spot.

Screenie 04-1 - Jump off into another platform close to the wall and keep going...
Screenie 04-2 - until you see red orc camps downward. It's a somewhat tricky part. I hope you can handle two Elites because theres two annoying patrols roaming in the camp. Okay. Jump off in order to land as far from the camp as you can.
Screenie 04-3 - You'll need to fight a group of two Elites, and one of a lonely Elite. Keep the Spirit Wolves for the little patrol of two Elites. Now it's a somewhat Safe Spot (until they respawn but nothing to worry about)

Screenie 05-1 - Once they've been disposed of, face the camp you just jumped over and get ready to use an Invisibility Potion but careful: Firstly there are bonfires in the camp, and if you take any damage from them, it's over, the invisibility wears off and you get eviscerated, Secondly this potion doesnt work like Rogues' Sneak ability, the whole screen gets hazy and everything vanishes so careful not to reappear in the middle of a group of orcs. Position yourself in front of the orcs to the left and use the Invisibility Potion.
Screenie 05-2 - Dash forward (be careful of the bonfire in the middle of the first group of orcs) until you reach a wall.close to the exit of this little camp. Safe Spot if the patrols don't respawn.

Screenie 06-1 - Now the boring part. You just used a potion, and the cooldown is 10 minutes.
In front of you stands five lvl 56-57 Elite mobs (with one asleep), and i doubt you can take them on. Behind them, Spider Eggs, and a lil further teal colored spiders.
the goal is to drink another Invisibility potion in order to reappear right midway between the orcs and the spiders, at the eggs' level.
/!\ Warning /!\ It's tempting to open these eggs for the En-Ay-Es-Tee-Why quest, but you might die from it as theres a possibility a huge pile of spiders spawn from it and swarm you. Well you're warned (I did it personnally. And died twice from it :3 I got my spider pet on the 3rd try :D)
Safe Spot.

Screenie 07-1 - Be warned, you're going to die. But thats not what's worse: You need to die in the right spot. Cruel i know. But if you love wolves like me, or are a vanity pet maniac, you're probably motivated! Luckily i took screenies.
You have to go through a sea of spiders.
Screenie 07-2 - When you're ready, drink the Lesser Invisibility Potion and run up, turn at 180° and run over a ramp shaped like a +.
Screenie 07-3 - Near the end of the ramp the Invisibility should wear off. Summon your spirit wolves quickly, cast a Twin Howl and a Spirit Walk (to get rid of the aggro, and dash like crazy).
Naturally you're going to aggro all the spiders of the cave, but since you run fast, you should be able to outpace them. They're still after you tho. After exiting the spiders' cave, you should reach a group of ogres.
Screenie 07-4 - Once you reach the very first ogre of the camp (a path with a destroyed wall on your left, and a pit of lava on your right), turn directly Left in a 180° fashion and try to die next to the wall opposed to the ogres and scorpions, about midway between both.
Screenie 07-5 - Naturally the Reincarnation kicks in. Wait for everybody to calm down and stop aggroing you. Reincarnate. Safe Spot.

Screenie 08-1 - It has been annoying and perilous so you dont want to ruin your efforts by rushing this last part and attempting to finish it now. So since you're in a safe spot, you can wash the Reincarnation's cooldown right here. Yes. That's 30 minutes.
Send some E-mails, visit your favorite forum on internet, call your grandma, whatever, but do not go AFK. do NOT. if the game logs you out because you forgot your char, you get sent back to the entrance.
You should be in a corridor, with scorpions to your right and facing a doorway further ahead. Occasionnally an orc patrolling with two elite Worgs comes out and stands in front for 10 to 15 seconds. We're almost there, the worg den's path being further ahead, right then left. Note for when you'll get there, the den is full of hungry Worg Pups and a huge mother worg named Halycon. To reach the den, we're using a little Invisible Dash trick.

Screenie 09-1 - Here's what to do, try to do it quickly:
Summon the spirit wolves, set them on STAY and cast Spirit Walk.
Drink an Invisibility Potion quickly and dash through the doorway, up the stairs,
Screenie 09-2 - turn Right into the corridor
Screenie 09-3 - and then Left to enter the worg den,
Screenie 09-4 - where you need to head Left for a safe spot in some dark corner. Safe Spot.

Screenie 10-1 - Now that the Invisibility wears off, you should see a group of worg pups surrounding Halycon, and a lone Worg Pup to the right. If you want to gamble it all you can try your luck, but i suggest to wash the Reincarnation's cooldown off again if you didn't make it to the dark corner in time. Better safe than sorry. 30 minutes again.
Screenie 10-2 - When you're ready, strike!:
Summon the Spirit Wolves.
Send them on Halycon. All the worgs in the room will dash to help their mommy worg.
Run to the lil group, they shouldn't care about you, busy chewing on your spirit wolves.
Select a Worg Pup quickly.
Screenie 10-3 - Activate the Empty Worg Pup Cage. It loads during 2,5 seconds.
Worg Pup caught. Hearth to your home city or die to respawn in the Burning Steppes, pick a way.

Screenie 11-1 - Back to Kibler! Turn in the quest, and recieve your mini worg. Every single time you summon your Worg Pup, it can appear as a different color! Enjoy~
