In the skittering dark, you can farm both and! while you're waiting for them to respawn you can fish along the coast and or sell all the junk you pick up from the spiders to the fishing vender there. You can also lvl your cooking on the campfire next to him from the fish you catch.

The drop rate on the Grizzled Bear Hearts is incredibly low. I've killed over 30 and I still only have 2.

Take the bears 40.16 i only killed 10 and got it all.

Beware of the Son of Arugal, a level 24 or 25 elite that wanders in this area. (showed up as level ?? for me....). If you find him, he will ruin your day.

Drop rate on bears was 100% for me, maybe i was just lucky. Spiders took a little longer though.

These things are great for low level casters working their way up to and through the 20s... even mages who can make their own water. Since you can eat these AND drink some water at the same time... you get a significant boost in mana regen. Eating these and drinking just ice cold milk, my 16 shaman has little downtime while leveling... it's a shame you can only ever get 20.

I agree with the guy that said the rop rate is low. Following the coords you gave for have 100% DR I have killed over 20 bears and still only have 2 hearts.

Almoray- Great tip, I would have run back to town without it. I hate having a nearly full inventory, then I have to be picky up about what I grab.

I had really bad luck with the hearts, the spiders were pretty easy.

Fairly easy quest. Droprate was no less than most of the others you do in Silverpine. However, you've gotta keep an eye out for the Son of Arugal. He's a level 20 (Rare?) Elite that wanders VERY close to where you find the spiders. While I was there, I saw him coming (on my 15 UD mage) and started backing up immediately. I was lucky enough to survive, however the two others who were in his path (a 16 lock with a voidwalker and a 15 warrior) got their asses kicked. Badly.

Drop rate for the skittering blood is better outside the cave (lvl 12-13) than the spiders inside the cave (lvl 14).

Bears outside drop bear heart at a much higher rate than the spiders.

A strange thing to take note of is the fact that the mobs Moss Stalker can be found outside of the cave and have a 32% drop chance, while the mobs Mist Creeper only have a 22% drop rate, but are found inside the cave. This could be due to the fact that Mist Creepers have been killed 14,000 times less, but at 10,000 kills, that is unlikely. Both spiders are found at , and the bears Ferocious Grizzled Bear, Giant Grizzled Bear, and the Rare spawn Old Vicejaw all drop the bear hearts. They can be found throughout Silverpine Forest, with high concentrations just east/south-east of The Skittering Dark, the area where the spiders are. This makes The Skittering Dark the ideal place to grind these mobs.

i did this one bears 10 and i was lvl 12 when i did the spiders but death was frequent as a mage

Arthas's numbers are overwhelming. But with a New Plague we could eradicate both the Scourge Army and the Human infestation once and for all.

My studies have proven that spider blood combined with a toxin derived from a grizzled bear heart results in a deadly elixir. Collect samples from the spiders in the Skittering Dark to the northwest and from the bears wandering throughout Silverpine Forest. Deliver the reagents to Master Apothecary Faranell of the Royal Apothecary Society in the Undercity.
