In order for this you only need to use 2 Un'Goro Soil samples for each morrowgrain. The morrowgrain comes in piles of 5 I believe. Right-click the bag you receive when you have 2 Un'Goro Soil then open the pouch.

The pouch has a 10-minute cooldown though. It's worth it for such an easy task.

Geeze! Don't know if it's just me.. But I get everything els than Morrowgrain! Liferoot, Strangelkelp, ect. I'v opened 5 of them and got 1 Morrowgrain.. I'm gonna need some soil!!

Having an herbalist do this for you (or being one yourself) will greatly improve the odds of receiving morrowgrain.

Makes the process soooo much easier.

The cool down is unnecessary , the first time I got 5, the second time i got 4, after that I've just been getting random herbs, arg, all I need is one more, this is retardbly (if thats even a word) frustrating

Just simply put the evergreen pouch in your action bar.
That way you can see when the cooldown is up.
I did other quests and whenever i could i used the pouch.

You can get 1-5 Morrowgrain.

this is crap....i've used up a lot of soil samples and seeds...almost 15 seeds now...and i've only got 9 morrowgrain, half the times i got earthroot and mageroyal and sungrass.....the 10minutes cooldown is annoying when this happens..

edit: finally got them all after using 17 seed packets... :P

Either you guys are unlucky, or I was lucky. Either way...

I got 2 morrowgrain on my first packet, and 3 on my second. Then 3 more on my 6th, then 1 on my 7th, then 3 on my 9th. I'm JCing/Mining, so no herbalism bonuses.

The chance of getting morrowgrain (any amount I think) is about 37% according to WoWhead. I don't think you can get more then 3 without herbalism, and the chances of getting 1 or 3 are damn near the same.

You can buy these Morrowgrain's off the Auction House. I was sitting around in Darnassus went and had a look and bought 3 off the AH for 40s. I've got 3 Morrowgrain in one opening and opened a total of 5. Do NOT do what i did, think it's smart to delete the Evergreen Pouch and buy a new one to avoid the cooldown, because it carries over and you waste 90s. The 10 min cooldown is highly annoying, but it's such an easy quest for a decent amount of xp.

Go back to Feralas after you get the Marrowgrain quest from the Archdruid and the Feralas innkeeper will tell you to go see that druid in the treehome and he will give you this quest.

I did as someone mentioned above ... I bought the Morrowgrain in AH ... well, 5/10 anyway. I got the other five in three uses of the pouch. I only used (lucky I guess...) 4 of the 20 packets of seeds. So I attempted to use it for the remainder of the Morrowgrain ... then sold them back to the AH :) ... might be of use to you? It could be a nice goldmine lol! Have fun!

just started this quest for the first time in over a year. came here to see if the 10min cooldown was new cause I do not remember it from before. Anyway, I got 2 morrowgrain from my first one. 10min later, i recieved 5. Atm I am waiting for the cooldown to be up again. I am lv 54 with 300 herbalism (I wonder if that plays into it).

but I have to stay in Un'Goro Crater to coltivate the morrowgrain? I was in Western Plaguelands when one my casing did a mageroyal, and not a morrowgrain -_- and often when I open my casing, I obtain a hearthroot... why???

@ lvl 70, I've made 15 attempts so far. I've only got liferoot and stranglekelp so far. Thats 30 soils. Either the drop rate is way too low or this quest is broken.

Don't know about you guys but i've been trying to do this for hours now...and still no morrowgrain but ive gotten tons of briathron and all that...maybe i just have terrible luck.

The pouch has a 10 minute cooldown. Personally this quest isn't worth it. You can go buy the soil (20 for like 15g) and it's a waste of money, and time if you go farm it for yourself. It'd be easier to just go grind for the exp and things.

I am not sure if the drop rate changed with the last patch or if this actually matters...I have 204 herbalism skill, but I dropped zero Morrowgrain when I tried the pouch on my way back to the crater. Once I was in Un'Goro, I had a 100% drop rate for the Morrowgrain. Try going to Un'Goro to get a higher drop rate.

I strongly advise you all to check the AH before attempting to farm it yourself. I was able to buy 10 morrowgrain for 30g off the AH on my server rather than spending all that time waiting on cooldowns.

I've found that when I go to the QuestHelper marker on the map to "aquire morrowgrain" and THEN cultivate the seeds, I almost always get the morrowgrain - anywhere from 2 to 3 at a time. But if I try to cultivate any other random place, I've never once got a morrowgrain. Not everyplace you go will have the QuestHelper marker - mine only show up in Un'Goro, Darnassas, and Stormwind.

Apparently it was omitted in the patch notes, but in 3.2 the cooldown from the Evergreen Pouch was drastically reduced (yay!) to 5 seconds and looks like the drop rate was increased too. Also, it appears that you can get grey quality herbs (Mutated Morrowgrain). It's still a PITA to get the soil, though.

I don't know if it's because I'm using Routes+Gatherer or if Blizzard indeed increased the spawn rate of the dirt piles but I've collected 32 Un'Goro Soil in 28 minutes...

I bought the soil plus some extra morrow grain in the AH. there wasn't much grain in the AH, but plenty of soil. I was able to complete this quest in 5 minutes.

Just go to Un'Goro.
Look for dirt piles around trees and on the floor. The raptors seem to have a good drop rate of Un'gor soil as well. (about 3 out of 10 i think)
Then just use the quest item.
It's less boring if you pick up other Un'goro quests and just pick up the soil as you encounter it.

GMs and blue posts are saying this quest may have been removed. Either way, I'm able to get the quest chain up until you can get the seeds, bag, and grow me some morrowgrain, but I'm unable to get the quest to turn in the morrowgrain from Staghelm or the other druid on the lower level.

Patch 4.0.1 situation:
* you can't get the quest to turn in morrowgrain to Mathrengyl Bearwalker in Darnassus, it gives a bugged message. So to continue this quest tree you must come down to Feathermoon Stronghold and deal with Quintis Jonespyre.
* my pathetic 93 herbalism didn't seem to help the returns. In the first quest to get 10 morrograin for XP, I got 1-3 morrowgrain every time.
* In the first quest to get 10 morrowgrain for XP, I did not get a single Mutated Morrowgrain in 7 seedings. BUT, once I turned in the first quest, I got Mutated Morrowgrain 85% of the time and only got healthy morrowgrain 15% of the time. I burned through all my Un'Goro Soil and was still unable to get 5 healthy Morrowgrain to turn in for the subsequent award. THEREFORE: if you want the subsequent award, whatever it may be now (used to be more seeds but that doesn't make much sense anymore), burn through all your Un'goro soil FIRST, while you have the quest for 10 morrowgrain and xp. Only turn it in when you have used up all your soil, and then turn in the subsequent repeatable quest for 5 morrowgrain.

[Here's your Evergreen Pouch that you'll need to use the Tharlendis seeds with. You also need to have Un'Goro soil samples on hand to use as fertilizer for the seeds. Just use the pouch when you have everything; the pouch will take care of the rest.

When you have enough morrowgrain, bring them here to me in the enclave. Please don't bother the Arch Druid; he's a very busy man, and he doesn't need to be disturbed every time someone returns with another batch of morrowgrain!]
