So it seems that the Goblin Engineer Nixx Sprocketspring now has two separate quests, The Pledge of Secrecy and Show Me Your Work. I did the Show Me quest, and got Goblin Specialization, but apparently didn't have to sign the paper making Goblin Exclusive to me...I'm not sure what is up with this, makes me wonder if they just forgot to update the quests for the Goblins as it's not listed on Wowhead atm.

Ok, so I do the 'Pledge of Secrecy' quests in both IF and Booty Bay.. And for some reason, Oglethorp talks smack to me and I'm unable to get any training from him.. What's the deal?

So im trying to do the quest. i dont know if it has to do with the fact taht im level 44. and it tells me its a lvl 47 quest. but everytime i sign teh pledge and try to complete teh quest. it does nothing.

I'm a gnome and the exact same bug happens to me at Ironforge when I try to become a gnomish engineer.

I was a gnomish engineer with the membership card and all of that a year ago, and now I got back to playing Cataclysm, and can't be a gnomish engineer anymore.

My wife was having trouble with this, as well, after she picked engineering back up. Finally got a legitimate GM response this morning.

At Bootlegger Outpost near The Gaping Chasm in Tanaris, there is a Gnome by the name of Narain Soothfancy. On a table near him is a book entitled Soothsaying for Dummies which had two options - one to train Goblin engineering and one to train Gnomish. Make your pick, and it instantly trains the specialization a bunch of recipes specific to the specialization.

Still a bit wonky as of patch 4.2. This quest can be repeated infinity times, and does not actually seem to do anything. I can access the gnomish engineering schemata just fine, however.

this was the quest that used to be the only way to get 'Lil Smoky' for gnomish, and 'Pet Bombling' for goblin. Renewing it each time sent random patterns.

I'm guessing why it does nothing now instead of send random schematics is cause of the change they put in most patterns? But I could be wrong My old engineer had her pattern long ago, and my new one got the patterns other ways. So I havent even tried it, my new engineer just found the quest for it...I was here looking up what it did lol
