Just because I am an idiot, make sure you remember that this is underground in the caves, not on the top level. I was walking around those coords and was thinking, what the hell.

What exactly do you have to do for this part of the chain? I tried talking to the dying arch. But all he says is to 'free them first' or something like that...but I can't talk to the others...so how do I complete this part?

I took the North/East Cave entrance into "The Cauldron" and ran past just about eveything... Talked to the little Dwarf that was laying down and that was about it! The cords are 41,25 Inside "The Cauldron". Also posted a screenshot above.

This quest was easy solo.. Open your map and you see the entrance to one of the caves... You want to enter the second one from the left. When you jump down their is an elevator.. Take that down to the third floor and jump out there... Cave entrance is on your left hand side and just run past all the guys or kill them for xp... Keep running till your under Thorium Point and he should be on the ground.. Click on him and you get an easy 5650 xp.

None of these comments are very helpful in actually finding the guy. The one by Fateofall just got me lost. Easiest way was to go in via the FARTHEST RIGHT (on the map) cave which you can only access by jumping down on top of it from the rim of The Cauldron. Fight your way past all the guys, veering towards the right until you reach a dead end (sometimes there is a rare mob at this dead end). Go to the LEFT, jump down twice, you should see the question mark on your minimap by now. If not, well, he's the dwarf lying down in the very middle of the cavern.

Where is the entrance to the cave... Sorry don't mean to sound dead headed but i have looked everywhere and even thought there was something wrong with my account so i asked a GM. lol, And he said he couldn't help me or give me hints.

okay, the EASIEST way into the area where the guy is is to drop down the shaft thats to the right of the camp below thorium point (on the right with your back to thorium point). Then, move to your left, killing things as you go. Pretty soon, you'll see the question mark on your mini map, that's you dood.

Alrighty so the easiest way to find this guy:

1. Go to the second cave from the left on the map.
2. Take the elevator there all the way down to the ground.
3. Go in the cave entrance right by the elevator.
4. Go left around the lava pool and go through the gate to your left.
5. Now pretty much go straight northwest - you'll end up in the big room where Obsidion is and he's laying in the middle.

Note that "Dying Archaeologist" belongs to the Booth Bay faction. This means that if you have grinded rep with the Bloodsail Buccaneers (presumably to get the Blood Parrot) you normally can't do this quest.

For all those with a coordinat addon 41.5, 54.0 is the coords for the entrance to the cave.

These guys are part of the Booty Bay faction, therefore if you are a Bloodsail Buccaneer (or just hated by BB) you will not be able to complete this quest.

My goodness, an entire post of useless messages. Mostly cos the caves are -circular-....

I went in the cave at 41,54.

Go left and up over the 'bridge' and you will see a door to your left. Go through that. (Quarry Gate)

Follow pretty much the only way you can go, which is in a vaguely NE direction on your minimap.

Fight through 5 or 6 mobs (if you go through the very middle of the pathway). - Careful with these dwarves, they are stout bastards even as a 49 warrior.

You will then walk into a big cave and see the bloke on the floor. Big dead stone statue in the middle of the room.

Took about 5 mins killing time.

I have NO idea where you people got your directions from...Mydge was dead on.

Second cave from the left on the map. In to the left. Through the gates on your left. Follow around until the room opens up; he's in the middle.

No elevators. No jumps. Just...opening a gate.

The real fastest way to him is by jumping down from a hole (35.2;42.7) onto a huge stone brick and jumping down again heading NE (North-East). At (40.6;30.1), facing NE, you will see a ledge made of metal leading up, the Dying Archaeologist is left from the ledge, in the middle of the room.

FYI if you are hated by the gobblins, you cannot do this quest. >.>

They are Booty Bay faction, so if you are friend of Bloodsail gyus (and stil unfriendly with BB), you cant complete this quest
