Enter the cave at 45,8.

Directions to the box:
Follow the tunnel.
At the first fork go right down the incline (left is a dead end).
Keep going forward, do not turn and go down into the cavern below.
You will run into a bunch of boxes. Look around, the chest is in with them.

Soloable as a lvl 34 Druid, prowl all the way. Take your time and pick your pulls, jump into bear form around 30%, and stun them just before they try to run.

Yea, don't try to sneak into the stockpile to do this quest as a 32 rogue. It really doesn't work out very well lol.

With patience and a strong pet, as well as a fair amount of repair bills, this can be done as low as level 30 as a hunter. I recommend a pet with bonuses to health and armor, or a tenacity pet if anyone reads this after 3.0.2.

I'm not entirely sure how I did it myself, but through a combination of baiting NPCs with your pet, dismissing him/her and FDing, you should be able to do it if you are very, very lucky.

By the way, around the cave and inside are stealthed "Kurzen Commando"'es... Pretty much just stealthed rogues. Easy to kill, and don't run off so no big deal.

EDIT: I take it back. Those guys aggro like hell to me (lvl 35 rogue). If one spots me, three come at me. And then there's the casters around the cave as well, who aggro too and shrink you (reducing strength and stamina if I recall). Can get very annoying.

And the rogues "smoke bomb" you, stunning you for a lil bit.

did this as a lvl33 rogue and only had a problem by the chest. i just sapped everyone all the way or stayed close to the walls then i used vanish when i completed the quest and then used it again when getting the new quest. then did the same going out.

[Although no mention of Private Thorsen is found in these records, hidden within the binding of one of Herod's ledger books is a small, brass key.

And after further study of his notes, a few references to a "secure strongbox" are contained among various papers. The box is somewhere within the Stockpile - the cavern complex at the back of Kurzen's Compound.

If this secure strongbox is found, and the small brass key can open it, then perhaps the mystery behind Thorsen's detection will be revealed.]
